    It's because of Raoult's law which states that when non volatile solid is added to a solvent, the vapour pressure of solvent decreases because the solute prevents most of the vapours from escaping. Thus more heat is required to make the lessened vapour pressure to be equal to the atmospheric pressure therefore, the boiling of the solvent is increased when it's in the solution form. In other words, the phenomenon is called elevation of boiling since the boiling point of the solvent is increased. Hope you got the point that our sir didn't explain...

    Another reason of mixing water: when salt is mixed in water, the salinity of water increases and hence its density. Therefore, eggs begin to float much easily and eggs do not collide with one another.

    For non science students
    Salt is non volatile substance ,means it can not create vapours easily
    Water in pure state is boiling at temprature A
    Then in solution of water and salt the salt will lower the making of vapours of solution as it is non volatile , as we know vaporisation is required to boil ,
    We need to give more heat for the boiling of solution conpared to its original pure state

  • @zangbuddha5541
    @zangbuddha5541 ปีที่แล้ว

    Boiling point = Vapour pressure =Atmospheric pressure.
    When you put salt..the vapour pressur of water decreases .why ??because salt particles displaces water molecues on the suface and occupies surface area of water which was earlier occupied only by water molecules..which reduces number water molecules on ther surface thefore more heat is required to compensate the water molecule displaced by salt particles..therefore boilng temperature increases .
