1:46 this OST has some of the best breaks I have ever listened to... I like getting to this part while the announcer says KO in the final round. That melody is the perfect ending for a tense match.
Look up the Amen Break, it’s 6 seconds of drumming from an obscure song from the 60s that almost singlehandedly spawned hip hop, jungle, D’n’b, breakbeat genres. It has been sampled in one for or another in well over 3000 songs since the late 80s and is still used today. From Wikipedia: “The Amen break is a drum break that has been widely sampled in numerous music genres. It comes from the 1969 track "Amen, Brother" by the soul group the Winstons, released as the B-side of the 1969 single "Color Him Father". The drum break lasts about seven seconds and was performed by Gregory Coleman. With the rise of hip hop in the 1980s, the break was widely sampled and became a staple of drum and bass and jungle music. It has been used on thousands of tracks of many genres, making it one of the most sampled recordings of all time. Neither Coleman nor copyright owner Richard Lewis Spencer received royalties for its use; Spencer said it was unlikely Coleman, who died homeless and destitute in 2006, realized the impact he had made on music.” Source: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break
i just realized that in this picture that his entire eye is not red, i think he just has big red irises and no pupils, its kind of weird to look at it.
This song takes me back to when I wrestled back in high school. There were matches I had where I could feel the beat of this song beating in my subconscious eardrums when they came down to the wire. These focused, quiet eye of the tornado like moments were so exhilarating. The shouts from the bleachers faded to silence, eyes locked with my opponent, both at 8 points with 30seconds left, and 1 takedown wins the match w/2 points. Any small lapse in judgment or sloppy move and it’s over. The breakbeats feel like all my muscles tensing up and preparing to exert maximum power. The nimble woodwinds are my mind clearing all distractions and reaching a point of still water calmness, creating a sound plan for victory. Sometimes I’d win, sometimes I’d lose. But everytime would be the fight of my life. This song catches that energy in its purest form and it’s beautiful.
As a musician, this song hits hard with the EP hitting nothing but minor 9 chords. And the Japanese flair with the flute is epic tied together with the break beat.
Nostalgia time! Back in MVSC2 Iron Man's "ground" infinite was the same button sequence as Raging Demon. The only difference was the timing and instead of a forward tap you would slightly hold UP/FORWARD because of the constant jump needed. I would always say Mesatsu a certain way when I would do it to people. It was to taunt them in a fun way, but also it was to remember my timing. I would do that about 5 or 6 times until I would get there life down far enough depending on the character, then end it with canceling that repulsar blast thing before saying MESATSU...GOU... PROOOTOONNN CANNNNOONNN. It was stupid but we had good times, those years before the Arcade Era was over...
Shakuhachi on top of breakbeats. Third strike's music was so much more adventurous and interesting than that of its successors that you had to wonder what happened with the latter.
I find several of Akuma's themes to be absolutely great for workout :) I once ran for over an hour in the woods listening to only a few of his themes on replay, they have a very motivational effect on me, at least. I overexerted myself that one time, wish i did that more often.
Akuma is the most badass character in FG history. He is a carbon copy of Zodd from Berserk but made into a playable character. Mainly because of their similarities. Both are warrior that embraced their dark powers. They love fighting. They really love fighting. They have code of honor. And have beautiful faces. But that does not make him bad. Akuma has his own unique stuff too. Akuma is a top tier but a top tier that is the only i like. Mainly because of his iconic Raging demon and he has sexy purple colored hadokens. Akuma players in TS are demon spawns but Akuma was made by a sadist. He is mix up character. I hate playing against Akumas but damn i can't just respect Akuma players for breaking their fingers. 9/10 character
In Super Street Fighter 4, when you pull off the raging demon, he says, "DIE ONE THOUSAND DEATHS!!!!!", but with my weird imagination, I thought he said " EAT SOME SAUSAGES!!!!"
