    Interesting stuff. It looks like the shield was not used much and a lot more of the work is done with the sword. Is this the case we see historically?

      There is not a lot of historical published works on the use of the targe

      It’s true that there isn’t much published on the use of targe and sword, however I know one early highland manuscript mentions that it is preferred to catch almost all strikes on the targe and only to block with the blade if advantages such as part of a bind or disarm.

      there was a technique of defending each limb with its own weapon, so defending right arm with sword, left arm with shield and legs by jumping back
