Blackbirds aplenty in my garden and yes, about 50 Starlings.
Love the Blackbirds but the Starlings are a nuisance because they monopolize all the feeders and the whole ground !
Anyway, I am amazed how clever Blackbirds are : I call all the birds to come to feed first thing in the morning and then in the afternoon but the Blackbirds respond to a certain name and hip along even near the conservatory door.....just like the Robins do.
Believe it or not the birds go through two buckets of food ( sunflower seeds, peanut granules, suet pellets and mmealworms ) as well as 12 smashed up fatballs. They also have fat balls and suet cakes in feeders . Ah, must not forget the ground feeders and under the bushes and trees ! Yes, they have pole dishes too.
Water bath cleared of ice by melting it and two extra water dishes .
Come to think about it, their routine is better than mine.

thrushes like a bit of scrub every bit of scrub gets concreted over for houses now hence hardly any thrushes
