Thank you Ribyum 💙💙 Before I began to actually read the guide from Trickerer, I just played and had fun doing so. But, I really began to love these NPCBots so much that I wanted to know more about them! As I began to learn and experiment, I found it a nice idea to share this in a video. In the future I do hope to release a guide that showcases all of the NPCBots (player) commands.
Taking a moment sincerely thank not just this channels operator but the entire repack community that's worked relentlessly on private server repacks for decades. They have indeed made massive progress and their contributions and the things they've revealed,shared and made evident are priceless. I still haven't been able to fully check out Dinkeldorfs creation but I have been able to do some testing with the zaicop npcbot and the older spp with bots that's went somewhat stagnant I think and has become all but forgotten. I'm mentioning it because it was remarkable because it even went as far as mimicking a live server by having hundreds of wandering bots that could even engage in crude and limited ai driven conversations. Being able to play these older versions of wow offline at a slower pace but still with a deadly efficient group of simulated players has allowed me to fully appreciate the game blizzard created for us some 15 years ago without the stress of having guild members constantly nag about one thing or another. It's caused me to fully absorb the warnings the creators were issuing to us way back then and the things they were trying desperately to point out to us. We were all just too damn driven with blindly slaughtering everything and everyone in sight all in the name of progression and advancement. We've all got so much blood on our hands they may never be clean no matter how much we wash them. I'm also now wanting to play every single expansion that's been released SINCE the Lich king too so I can better understand WHAT has HAPPENED since the days of the Lich king expansion;because I will admit I quit playing retail when cataclysm came out. I even lost all interest in playing the game at all for many years after that. But when the pandemic hit I was in a position that sort of "made me want to" dive into the game again through the use of these repacks. If I had at least ten grand to each and every dev that's ever poured blood sweat and tears into keeping these older versions alive I would. At least I can thank you with a simple message.
Thank you for time and kind words that you have shared here. I am not a developer myself, but just as you I am very grateful for all the efforts these amazing Devs have put into these repacks, and even share ideas and work amongst themselves to continuously optimize and create this single player experience that so many are able to enjoy. I agree 100% that playing these versions of WoW on a slower pace with the immersion of Wandering Bots, allows us once again to take in the World and appreciate what it has offered us so long ago. The Devs enables us to capture this feeling of Magic, Wonder and Adventure again with their repacks. I am glad your joy for the game has been rekindled. ^^
Thank you for video guide! It helps alot. Is there a way if while playing a night elf priest to get female night elf druids to show up on the list ? I just see pages of pages of Tauren and male but no female night elfs...thank you so much❤ should probably say ..I am playing on my own private server
Hey Ghost! ^^ The list is coded within the Ashen Order Repack and creating new NPCBots is disabled, because it can cause issues with future updates. But, you can change the name, race and gender of existing NPCBots. (It might reset to their default values after a repack update) To change the name of your NPCBot, target your bot and use the command ".bot nameset [name]" Example: .bot nameset Billy To change their appearance: I would try the command ".setappear [race] [gender]" on your Bot. In your case for Night Elfs ".setappear nelf f" (m=male and f=female) After applying the changes, you might want to restart your server. ^^ NOTE: Be sure that the race you are choosing can make the class it has. Example: Changing a Troll druid to a Gnome won't work, since Gnomes cannot be Druids. As a warning: Do not use on normal creatures. Hope this helps! :)
Hiii ☺ You should be able to play Arena! But I believe it's only "Solo queue" Search for an Arena NPC, likely in any capital City. TIP: You can ask a city guard to ask where the Arena NPC is located. Once you talk to Arena NPC, join up for "Solo unrated arena" The queue will be instantly and you should be able to play against NPCBots in arena ^^ (It's been a while since I played arena, but if my memory is somewhat correct, the above is what you should do to get started) 😅 Hope it works and have fun!💙

@@QTBlue-AI yeah I was trying that but it did not work. However I just upgraded to the July Version and it did work. Basically message says the name change will happen when you restart the server and it did. Thanks as always for the reply. One last question, I’ve made the raid icons scull, cross and sheep for my party and added the macros on my bars. They work perfectly, however I found out that when I kill a mob or mainly a PvP player with the macros ( mainly Skull or cross ) they don’t stay on the dead body to be removed BUT VANISH. The issue is that when the PvP Bots respawn miles away at the grave yard / rezzer my bots always run off towards the PVP player, often quite far away trying to find them. I followed them once to see where they were going and the PvP player still had the Scull on his head. I have got round this by constantly marking my players with skull and cross because if I don’t, they always run off towards a respawned PVP player or mob. Is there a command I can put at the end of the macro to remove the mark when the player dies ? Or even to mark me so I don’t have to keep marking everytime I use these macros ? Long winded and I apologise, but I hope you can help as I often hear people in chat enquiring why their bots run away and this is the main reason I found out why mine do…..even in the cities / towns they will run outside to attack the marked targets.

Ah but do the bots level with you? Do they need to complete quests like you for EXP? Or just auto level? Skills: do they auto get those as well or do you have to see a trainer?
Bots auto level with you ^^ (Even if you hire a new Bot, they will always be set to your level.) Same with their spells and talents. The only thing you need to keep up to date is their equipment.
So from what I understand in order to use Dinkledork Repack we have to use his modified Client too that backports stuff from future expansions into WOTLK and adds a bunch of custom made things to the game. There is no way to use a vanilla Client instead? That's a shame, I'd prefer to have my client vanilla. Is there a download link just for the NPCBots itself?
Dinkledork repack now named Ashen Order comes only in Wotlk. There is a link in the description that goes to the NPCBots page of the creator, Trickerer. You can find more information there. :)

The Priority targets like Skull, Cross, Moon etc is configurable to your own preference and likely some other things that are configurable. The Ashen Order does have extra addons, commands and scripts for the NPCBots, to bring some extra quality of life, but those are not included in the video. To answer your question: The video applies to Trickerer NPCBots. ^^
I joined a queue for BG and there weren't any bots that joined... Do you have any suggestions as to why? Also, I am lvl 20 right now. Maybe that might be the issue?

Hi Drakmaster1337 Yes you can! Depending on the Repack you are using it might be limited to 4.9k, but there are packs that can go higher. Below I'll send you information by *RussianRanger from our Discord*: "World.conf file in the repack folder. Look for npc bot section of the text, there should be wandering bot count as one of the variables" "You can’t add more than 4.9k, that’s a hard cap. I do 3000 which is more than enough. If you do more than that, you’ll find that it’s less of a performance issue and more of a gameplay issue, especially as you advance into contested zones" "Yes - basically 3k is an extreme high population server. You’ll find that there are too many bots killing mobs you need for quests and in later levels, you’ll have too many opposing faction bots picking fights with you. It’s fun for a few days but gets old pretty quick" "Higher amounts of bots, especially npcbots are less of an issue for your hardware, and more of an issue for the software" Hope this information helps! 😊
is there ANY way to make the bots not go IN FRONT of me when I am tanking? I am assigned as tank, the bots very often walk in front of me and keep pulling several mobs I did not intend to pull.. I have set follow distance and attack distance to high
Hiii ^^ There might be a solution for this, but not that I know off. 😅 You could use the command ".npcbot sendto" to place your NPCBots behind you for important pulls and then ".npcbot command follow" to allow them to run towards you again. You could also ask in our Discord Community! Maybe someone has found a better way to help with this issue. 😊

I am not a Developer myself, but just a player, I can only point you towards our Discord community, which offers multiple Developers who are offering their repacks (with NPCbots) free to play. The necessary info and links to download and play is available on the Discord server for whatever Repack you chose. Since I noticed that you've found my "Download and Install" video, I belief you figured it out!! ☺ I check my TH-cam Channel daily. If I can, I help you on your way.
It looks as if the npcbot gear is micromanaged? Is it possible to get them to gear up to a reasonable but not OP level without having the player manage each piece of gear on each bot?

(Never used it myself though) *Npcbot_Extended_Commands* on Github by Dinkledork. "This is an Eluna lua script designed to enhance your NPC bot gameplay experience. It not only provides level-appropriate gear but also allows you to clear transmogs and set custom names for your bots. The gear is categorized in 5-level increments, starting at level 10 and extending up to level 80, where epic or rare sets are available. The script comes with an extensive list of valid roles and the item list was mostly curated by Upskirt, ensuring a broad range of gear options. It also features GM-only command options for additional security and control." *To use this script* , place the file in your lua_scripts folder. The script supports multiple in-game commands: .bot items [role] [rarity] // Rarity is only applicable for level 80, which is epic or rare. etc... I belief Parkan's Repack has NPCBots automatically equiped once you hire them. In case you don't want to micromanage, maybe his Repack is something you would like ^^ Sadly I'm not 100% informed about all the options out there as every pack uses NPCBots in their own unique way.
