Damn, that's pretty sweet. The walls of the walled garden just got a little thicker... Wish I could do this with my S24 Ultra and Macbook Air... 😭
@@ropro9817 fuck were u expecting if ur using a samsung with a mac
@@ropro9817ecosystem😂
Are they going to have a similar feature for connecting to iPad?
@@jpcrews1 whats the point
Nice, so that way I can use the Apple Journal app on my Mac and finally use a proper keyboard
Seriously I’m surprised they didn’t create a Mac version because who wants to properly journal on their phone
Dude, THIS!
I like the Journal it's a great tool.
The feature that I want to see is the ability to view all of my iPhone screens simultaneously on the Mac. That would make it much easier to move applications from one screen to another, which is clumsy and error prone in the best of times.
LOL, the killer app for this is to use your MFA apps without pulling out your phone Every. Single. Day. Bravo Apple!!!
haha the irony though, one device for multi factor auth
Sorry if I missed it, but is this available for all phones that can run iOS 18?
Yes, it is. I have an iPhone SE (2020) and it's running. The screen is just as my phone, no rounded corners, no notch.
Hello, can you tell me if is possible to use iPhone mirroring in Mac OS sequoia beta 6 in Europe - France . When I launch the app it tell me that iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region. On my Mac I have change the region to United States and I put English for the language but it doesn't work. Thank you.
Will iPad mirroring work as well?
No
@@VoltX_1LOL... Aweful
Bummer 😢
Will it work with the Apple Card accounts?
I want to see remote mirroring the other way, from my mac to my iphone. That way I could leave my mac at work and just use a usb-c dock with my phone at home for full access to all work systems/storage.
Be great for remote support of iPads also. I think Apple say this violates device security but for those who do training of others in educational and medical settings, remote mouse and keyboard access would be amazing.
@@davidharraway8131 its easily done mac to mac so I dont buy the security argument.
@@davidharraway8131I don’t see why it would be a security risk, it’s just built-in remote desktop software something that many 3rd parties already offer, it’s just that Apple could provide a more seamless experience between iOS and Mac.
@@davidharraway8131apples lame excuse 😂
That would be amazing, I guess we'll have to wait for the IOS 67 :)
The only thing that failed to work is placing a traditional call. Does someone know how to do that? Thank you.
I think the biggest benefit is that you can use your iphone's camera as your primary camera for a meeting or recording and still have access to your phone.
I always ran into this issue when using my iphone camera!
Why this won’t be available on iOS 18 for the iPad Pro and iPhone is beyond me. This would definitely be useful when I’m walking around at work getting things done with my iPad Pro not having to carry my phone around the office. Also stay in touch or utilize my phone since I have both devices set up differently.
As a 2 year iPhone convert from Android, it’s nice to see Apple adding another feature Android and Windows have had for a few years. The integration using the Your Phone feature in Windows with my Galaxy S20 was very good, even though it was still in the early days back then, and I haven’t found anything close for the iPhone. Now, if only Apple and Microsoft could play nice to bring this to Windows machines!
even better now.
What I want to know is can your phone be anywhere in the world? Or does it have to be close to the proximity of the Mac in question? Cuz if anywhere in the world, that's a game changer big time.
Can you control the shutter of your iPhone and start video recording while mirroring?
if I remember correctly I saw someone try it and the screen just went black. I guess it doesnt work. but you can mirror your phone when you activate screen mirroring on your phone. this doesnt allow you to control your phone from the Mac tho, it just mirrors it and you can use the shutter as well
If you have a Max or Plus iPhone, will it mirror larger than the regular sized models?
I really want to know a few things:
1. Is this iPhone only, or have they acknowledged whether it’ll come to iPads at all?
2. Can you rotate into landscape mode
3. Can you resize the window at all, or is it static?
4. Can you access the iPhone while it’s being used as a continuity camera?
I don't understand why people still buy iPhones where you are so limited.
This feature has been available on Samsung phones for years and you are able to run the apps by themselves in their own windows on your computer. You aren't restricted to just using an iPhone screen on your computer.
They might give that to you guys in 5 years or so.
Y'all need to escape that walled garden
Nice! What is the behaviour of the iPhone's battery?
Would mirroring an IPhone on to my Mac Mini give me full control of an IPhone. I am disabled and have an adapted keyboard and mouse (joystick) and I am looking for a way of controlling an Iphone (or any phone) from the same keyboard/mouse. I also have a Windows 11 PC if that provides more options? Any advice would be appreciated. Mike
Do you need to be on WiFi. Or will it work if Mac is on Ethernet?
It won’t matter once it’s on the same network
Dude tnx for ur informative video. Do you know how can I save a video from my photo in my iphone to my MAC through iphone mirroring?
If an iPhone app requires FaceID, will TouchID on the laptop work?
if the app requires the FaceID, it will automatically ask for you TouchID
Can i mirror my iphone when the physical distance between the iphone and mac is large? I'm assuming this feature works on bluetooth.
Can you rearrange the apps on your home screen on your mac? Can you use this if you have an older mac but a newer iPhone? Thanks
Full screen?
In 5 years. Let's wait for it
Apple needs to release this for iPadOS too.
is this feature geo locked cause I cant access it on my mac and iPhone? I am on the latest public beta on both devices.
Yup, due to the DMA (since it’s only available for iPhones and not Android phones) the streaming feature isn’t available in the EU. Tbh, I doubt they would run into many legal issues releasing this in the EU so I think this is just Apple continuing to be petty over them finally being properly regulated.
FYI: there is no way to disable this feature once its enabled. I disabled everything and I still getting notifications on my mac :O
What’s the connection requirement? Bluetooth or wifi? Can I do this away from my home WiFi?
Only a Bluetooth connection is needed
Can you access and use the camera app while it’s doing this?
Good question, that might be a security/privacy risk.
@@Gogo8mkdThe first time you start iPhone Mirroring it gives you a some text that says camera and microphone are disabled. Even if you open Camera app it just gonna be pure black. Same with Voice Memo app not working.
Its a nice privacy thing but currently its a little buggy if you have Sound Recognition accessibility on that uses the microphone all the time so it doesn’t allow mirroring
Does it require you to be on the same WiFi network?
Any way to turn off the notifications?
Does it work with iPad?
Does it work on windows? Can we install app on windows for iPhone mirroring
can you rotate and play games?
I have one question: I have two iPhones both are turned on (13 and 15 plus) while doing iPhone Mirroring. When I click on Mac iPhone mirroring App, it points to my iPhone 13 (not on iOS 18) not my 15plus (iOS 18). How do I make my Mac iPhone mirroring my iPhone 15 plus? Thanks.
I'm also blown away at how it works.
Can't resize it. Keyboard shortcuts like cmd+w, cmd+f don't work.
Cameras disabled.
Can't use the device at the same time.
Doesn't work with a mouse except for trackpads.
Can't pull down notifications or control center.
I wouldn't be shocked if file sharing is somehow nerfed when released too.
If you have locked an app using face id, can you open it on mac? Because when I try to, it keeps on telling me to authenticate
landscape mode?
Right now, the documentations says it will switch to landscape mode only if the app requires it. This may change in the future.
How do I reset this function to another iPhone
To be fair I have my phone on my desk anyway right in front of my keyboard, so why would I want to have it on my computer when it's right in front of me, so that does not make much sense.
However, one of the things I was really looking forward to was the ability to mount the phone on a tripod, pointing at oneself for shorts and use the computer to control the back camera with a live feed and you can't even do that!
So the biggest thing that would have made it awesome is not even available!
What’s the point of it then?
My mirror doesn’t work and I can’t find a way to fix this issue and I can’t manage a way to raise a complaint with apple
You can actually install the Eufy app on your Mac if it has an Apple based M-1,2,3,4 chip. My Eufy app works very well, directly on my Mac. Great video!!
Ditto for EZVIZ
What about games? Do they work in mac too while mirroring?
But why no mirroring for iPadOS? 😢
Because then they can't milk out your money
can it mirror via a cable aswell? for less latency
Can you move/rearrange apps on the home screen of the iPhone from this?
I have 2 iPhones, it wants to connect to Backup iPhone NOT my main iPhone, if you could show me how to change the iPhone in iPhone mirroring. Thanks
Does it work in landscape mode and does it work with a VPN enabled?
I have an SE (2nd generation) and mirroring is slow, it lags like a 2013 Android. Is my phone not enough for this or is it something that can be fixed? I literally installed both macOS 15 and iOS 18 betas for iPhone Mirroring, and my expectations were extremely high. ://
This is great! Would it would with an 2020 intel-chip MacBook Pro and an iPhone 13? Asking cause didn’t find device requirements about it. Thanks!!
the main thing i like about iphone mirroring is how it fixes the problem with mac os where half of my notifications don't show up.
Would this work on intel macs? I’m still using mine…
It does, tried it today
my phone will not connect? I meet the requirements outlined by Mac.
that will save my workflow on instagram a lot. I hate replying through comments with the phone. My neck is pretty bad the past months for starring at the phone all the time. I'd rather do these things on the monitor with the mac. Such good feature!
Is it not available as touch screen. It would be nice if you could make the phone bigger and wider.
Have you tried the combo of:command+option+the plus sign (...+...) on the Mac?
Does the phone need to be on and unlocked? Or can we finally use an external display while the internal is off?
No, your phones needs to be off for it to be working
Is it also possible to mirror my friend's phone to my mac with this?
How do you turn off iPhone notifications on the Mac? I like using iPhone mirroring but I really don’t need all the notifications stacking up.
Its in System Settings -> Notifications
I don’t have an option to turn off notifications either. Nothing in system settings…
@@d24 thanks!
@@samsmeaton5555 I tried everything to disable notifications or remove iPhone mirror, but nothing seems to work. I hope they fix it soon
I've been using this for the Journal app, since you can only use it on an iPhone for some stupid reason... but having an actual keyboard for your journaling is a game changer.
Does anyone know how exactly does this work? I mean technically?
how is it so smooth. It can run my games too without any delays. Crazy!
Will this work in m2 macbook air?
Great video is that with the regular public beta or you have to be a developer and that’s only with the developer beta thank you
If you need compatibility with various devices & want additional features: Galaxy S23/24 Ultra's Smart View might be more suitable & with DEX is uncomparable to iLocked
Is it only works with 15 or higher?
Can you do this from another place, like 200 miles away, for instance, for an elderly parent who gets stuck while using their iPhone?
Is there a iPhone mirroring on PC/windows?
Very good, clear video about this amazing feature that I have no use for. I use my iPhone as a phone, and occasionally as a camera. But now I know what the feature does, so thanks!
Very promising functionality. Is there, or will there be the ability to place the virtual iPhone controller on the MAC screen into landscape orientation? I can think of a myriad of reasons this would be very helpful. Also, iOS 18.X is supposed to be compatible all the way back to iPhone X, I believe. Will the Mirroring function be available on most iOS 18.X supported iPhone models? Thank you in advance to anyone who might have some information on these themes.
I wonder can you still navigate iPhone while connecting to the Mac?
Looks like an amazing feature for a lot of workflow stuff between Mac and Iphone.
The mirroring + drag and drop feature combined will probably be great 😃
Is this also available for the iPad aswell?
No
How does it work if you go into an app that requires Face ID? Or an app that would use the camera or mic? Does it pass through?
I am pure guessing, but maybe TouchID of the mac?
You can choose to face unlock every time or just once while connected.
is it really mirroring if your phone isn’t showing the same thing in real time
Do we know when this will work on fing Europe???
It should come in full screen !
Accessing my company 2 factor authentication app will save me 10 seconds
Really looking forward to this especially given I always have my phone in standby mode and i'm stick of rotating it to check notifications I missed or do other things. But what about swiping gestures? How do you swipe left to delete a notification or swipe left or right through your photos?
How about iOS games on Mac?
does it work with iphone 14 pro?
Will it work from iPad?
Can you rotate the virtual iPhone 90° to landscape mode? It’s convenient for dealing with long file names in the Files app. That would be pretty cool.
does this workm in intel mac ?
Thanks for the video, interesting to see how it works in the wild. I was hoping that they would bring the health app to the Mac, but with this connectivity, I guess I can just review things this way.
Can iPhone mirroring be accessed on a remote Mac using Message's screen-sharing feature? This would be useful for training and support use cases.
Can you put the iPhone in landscape? Thank you Sir!! 😀
Every time I launch mirroring, it requires me to unlock my iPhone, which defeats the whole purpose
i love the mirroring feature. haven't found much use cases for myself yet, as most of what I use have native apps on mac like outlook, whatsapp, notes, calendars, etc. still waiting for the drag and drop copy paste for files and photos so that file sharing just becomes seamless. right now that's the one concern for me while trying to transfer files. also, they have added the larger size screen with the new beta updates, so that's great. i'm not sure if this works perfectly if iPhone is not near the Mac, as I got this message in between that the iPhone is not within range. will know more as I use.
Is it working ok on the base model?
it's a shame apple have not implemented this on ipados 18
Don’t need iPhone mirroring if they can just make the iPhone apps work on the Mac natively. It would probably be more reliable, and you don’t have to manage two devices.
Does it allow you to make the iphone bigger and does it allow you to move it from portrait to landscape? I would like to stream netflix on my laptop while I'm traveling. But if the screen size is the same as the iphone, I see no point in doing that.
im pretty sure it does. Saw it on somebody else`s video where they tried to okay games and watch videos.
Why not just run Netflix on your laptop?
@@neilalecock8642 Netflix does not have a native app for macbooks. The app is the only way to download shows where you can watch it offline (on an airplane).
Can I take and make calls from my Mac using iPhone mirroring?
Can you do this with other phones like for example I have my parents that sometimes they need help using an app or sometimes I have to help them fix something BUT they live in a different state. So can you???
Before Samsung Dex, there was an app called Samsung Flow which would allow for the mirroring of your Galaxy S or Note phone screen on your PC. It was a wired connection but I believe also could be done through Bluetooth (not as smooth). I think a network connection was also supported. This feature was later replaced by Dex after the S7 and Note 8 series. It was available on early Galxy S and Note phones, I belive after the 4 or 5 series(2015ish).
Samsung Flow would allow the user to draw and drop files into the phone. Photos or files could be dragged out of the Gallery or Files app. You could also copy and paste between the PC and the mirror phone screen.
Around that time, I also remember using Microsoft's Phone Companion (later renamed Link to Windows), which would also do a similar thing. I didn't get to use it as much though.
That's nice that you can do that with an iPhone and wonder if there will be an app to do this on PC.
I'll be looking forward to accessing voicemails from my Mac, assuming that's possible
hello, not working in my region, how it repair ?
still needs improving , mirroring app can be too large or too small in different resolutions, also no full-screen for horizontal mode, now the app is basically a touchable quicktime recording mode.
even after updating it to sequoia, I dont have that iPhone Mirroring option
Can you share where you got the wallpaper used on the iPhone? It looks great.
Doesn’t work, my iMac can’t connect to my iPhone 15pro. Not sure why 🤷🏻♂️
