I am a high school xc runner. This year my times were slower than last year which made reallly depressed. Watching you I learned that it’s okay to not have linear progression and you really helped get me through a tough time in my life. Thank you Allie ❤️

One of my favorite movie quotes is from Rocky Balboa. “It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”
I think that quote adequately reflects the determination you have demonstrated in order to accomplish your goals. Good luck at Worlds.

Allie, usually no one has anything nice to say about the algorithm, but I was so lucky the day you were dropped into my feed. I am a cyclist, not a runner but grew up in sports where being small was prized, emphasized and fear of growing or gaining ominously warned against. As an adult, work as a trainer and I see the ramifications of this type of ideology in so many women. Your ED coming out video was the first one I saw and I have followed ever since. Allie, the work you are doing on and off the track is so important. I believe you are becoming an important figure for so many young athletes. We are with you at Worlds and wherever the non linear path happens to take you, keep bringing us along. (You’re becoming a damn good documentary maker, too!) You are truly a treasure❤

Tears filled by eyes watching the last montage. You’re such an inspiration, Allie. Thank you for not giving up on yourself, because through your grit and determination, through your victory over an ED, you’ve inspired others to not give up on themselves. Your journey is so powerful and beautiful in its own way. Much love ❤

Your vulnerability and willingness to show up is truly admirable. I know how hard ED recovery is and how hard it is to find a new identity outside of the eating disorder. I am so incredibly proud of you! Good luck at worlds 🎉

Hi there, I am an older woman and love your videos. I think I found you just from watching videos on how to run successfully. Anyway I find that I look forward to your videos for a variety of reasons so I thought I would share with you how special I think you are. As an older person I know that your parents must be so proud of you for the person you are becoming, as a mate I suspect your boyfriend knows he has a treasure on his hands, as a follower I love your wit, intelligence, and vulnerability. You are obviously extremely smart so whatever you ultimately do those around you are gonna be lucky. Can't wait to see how you do in this next competition and thank you for sharing your experiences.

David is amazing, Allie. I would imagine he has sat down and told you that he has looked over your achievements, your training, etc etc and has determined that you are capable of a lot still. He isn't one to make that up. I don't know him personally but have listened to countless interviews with him over the last 10+ years, as I have with many coaches and trainers in the trail/ultra world. Just keep on believing in yourself. Sometimes people will doubt you, including this guy, but so fuckin' what. You will show us all.

So proud of you, Allie. You battled demons that knocked you off your feet, and found a way to pursue your passion and build a better version of yourself. An eating disorder. Injuries. Self doubt. There were lots of hurdles, but you never quit. The lessons you taught go beyond running. Stand tall at the starting line. You earned your place there. When the gun goes off, smile really big and then run with a spirit that can’t be broken.

Thanks for sharing the path with us in humility, with depth and a real strength of character. All the girls who dream about athletic success (in the US, but also elsewhere in the world) should hear about your story to make sure they have their goals right. The last sequence made me think of that Camus quote (I am freely translating from French so it might be a little off) - "In the heart of winter, I finally realized that deep inside me lie an invincible summer" - this might be a little different from his meaning, but applies very well to your strength. Good luck at the WC!!

i struggled with injuries and my mental health throughout my high school xc and track career and got to the point where I hung up my running shoes for 5 years after graduating. I've been easing back into it over the course of the last year and a half or so, but am now injured again after trying to take on my first real training block. This channel has been such a source of inspiration and information in how to mentally and physically deal with these kinds of setbacks. You're the kind of voice in the running community that I wish I had at as a teenager. Keep up the hard work; you're really doing something great here. Go crush it at world's!

Rock on Allie! The roller-coaster path of your career so far has definitely been difficult. It shows the depth of your strength and passion to come back and go after the next goal each time. You can reach your goals and more. And you deserve it! As I've begun my ultra running journey, I'm learning, also the hard way, patience. Patience will get me where I hope to go. Continue to love yourself and believe in yourself, and on race day, feel the joy and dig deep. As Matt Fitzgerald would say, how bad do you want it? It is our minds that limit our physical capabilities. When it gets tough in the race, you can get over it, you've done it before, you've put in the work, you are ready, and you can crush it! Good luck and have fun! Cheering you on from afar!!!

hey allie, I really can't fully describe what this video means to me at this particular time of my life but one thought I can articulate is that my passion sport (cycling) has hit 2 really big obstacles lately - the most recent is that I was hit by a truck on a training ride last week haaaaa great. I've been really angry and upset, questioning whether to stay in the sport even. But seeing you persevere through SO much is really re-framing my mindset and makes me believe that I can do this. And that's a huge huge gift you've just given me.
Can't wait to see how you do at world champs, you have so many people rooting for you !!

Allie, I am 14 and a xc and track runner. I can say that I have struggled with having certain low points in running (mostly in winter). So, I get how you are feeling. But, I have always wished to be close to or as good as you! So, you are worth it and are much better than you think. Keep going. You are so strong!

Very moving video. Every great story arc has a slump in the middle where everything seems hopeless and the hero(ine) questions whether to keep going. Overcoming these setbacks is what makes the story worth telling and the life worth living. So keep going! And congrats on your finish at World XCs, such a great performance

Thank you so much for sharing your journey and for always being so real and vulnerable. I came to your channel, because my hobby is running, and I am recovering from an ED. I continue to be hooked to your channel, because I'm a professional classical singer, and there are truly so many parallels between our professions! It is comforting and inspiring to watch you navigate the ups and downs and approach your work with so much passion, dedication, and adaptability. You are so strong in all senses of the word 💪 Thank you 💖

You are one of the most genuine people on TH-cam… life is funny in that we think we are headed on a specific path then things change and we are on a new path, or no path at all… be proud of what you have achieved but know you are destined for greatness!!! I can’t wait to watch you compete at worlds!!!!
