I'm excited to unbox the Rainy Days Soft Flex Bead Design Challenge Kit, a truly beautiful collection today. This kit is packed with a variety of items, from the exquisite tanzanite-coloured Soft Flex beading wire to strands of beads in captivating shades of blue, grey, and gold, and even includes some one-of-a-kind charms and crimps.
There are a lot of beads in this kit, and I decided to create a necklace this time. But was that the right choice? Hmm, let's see.
There are some excellent examples of dangle design considerations and how I determine the type of necklace focal I want to design. If you know me, you know that I LOVE purple. Despite aiming for a purple-dominant theme, the final design integrates aqua, blue, and purple, reflecting some of my seasonal fashion colour preferences.

I love watching you evaluate the beads going into your piece. It's fascinating to hear you talk through your process.
Thank you so much. Sometimes I wonder if people think I'm mad! Ha ha. I talk to the beads all the time. It's a bit of a process designing a necklace, but we get there in the end.
So many beads! We sure filled this kit to the brim. So glad to hear you are feeling better Carol. I love how this kit was a perfect match for your Spring/Summer color palette. Such a lovely design tutorial! Thank you for opening the kit and sharing your inspiration with us. xo Kristen
Thank you so much Kristen. It is always a pleasure. I absolutely loved this kit. I'm actually thinking I need to order more of the purple knobbly beads so I can make earrings. 😃
Looks so pretty on you Carol thank you and have a lovely day!
Thank you Cathy. I've been wearing it almost non-stop. I love this one.
I was going yes no yes no when you were deciding which beads to use. 😂😂😂 We agreed on every bead!!! It turned out gorgeous as usual!!!💜💜💜
Ha ha, thank you. I do that every time. I put things in, take them out, move them around. It's just the process.
I love the necklace. The beads are awesome. They also match your scarf. Another beautiful design. Always enjoy watching your videos. Thank you.💜💙
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. The matching scarf was unintentional as I didn't know what colour were in the pack. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it.
I love this necklace, it’s elegant. Thank you Carol for a lovely tutorial ❤️❤️🌹
Thank you so much, Linda. This has to be one of my all time favourites.
I know you are a happy camper with all the purple, colors.😊 Actually they are all gorgeous.
Thank you Rose Marie. You know me so well! 😃
Thank you for discussing the content of your package and showing ho you design your piece.
My pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Loved the necklace. Dangle was perfect.
Thank you so much.
That's a BEAUTIFUL necklace!
Thank you so much Virginia.
It's great to see your thought process. I get frustrated with myself when my original idea doesn't look right. I LOVE how you show how to take time to see how things lay and feel. Thank you!
Thank you so much Denise. Sometimes I wonder if people are interested in seeing me design but I've had lots of comments about that on this one. I really appreciate your feedback.
Love the result, so many choices to make. Glad you're feeling better now.
Thank you so much. I really liked this piece.
I love it! Another successful necklace. Thanks for showing your process and I agreed with your choices too. Awesome!
Thank you so much Kimberly. I really appreciate that.
This was just what I needed! I am not alone trying to find the proper proportions - sizes of the beads that work for balance and primarily aesthetics!
This helps me with my Style Maker question in the Discussion Forum!! Thanks, Carol!
Thank you Kari. Designing is always a challenge and sometimes it works out great and sometimes you have to take it apart and try again. It's about being brave enough to try things and if they don't work, don't be discouraged, just try again.
Very pretty!
Thank you, Jeannie.
Lovely colors, Carol! I really need to get myself one of those special crimping pliers/tools for when I repair necklaces!
Thank you so much, Liz. The Magical Crimping Pliers are amazing. You can find them on Amazon here: amzn.to/3Q6xDQI
Love watching the design process! Thank you for another great video! ❤
Thank you so much, Kathy.
The necklace is lovely
Thank you so much Dawn. You got to see it first hand at the weekend. It's got to be one of my all time favourites.
I love Blue and Purple, especially together! Gorgeous!
Me too!! This was the best Soft Flex pack I've received yet. Perfectly me. Thank you so much.
I loved this bead pack and what you did with it!
Thank you so much, Beth. I love this necklace too.
I love that your process, moving/changing, is very similar to how I do it.
I’d love to get that bead subscription, but the cost of shipping to Canada is too costly.
The way you say “aqua” is adorable. 😊
Thank you Marjorie. Ha ha. When we lived in Canada, you Canadians all thought it was weird. 😆I completely understand regarding the cost of shipping. Try living downunder - it's probably 3 times the price. I'm lucky enough that Soft Flex send them to me free of change in return for a video like this.
Beautiful necklace!
Thank you so much, Libby.
Omg. What a gorgeous variety of beads xx anyway I'll carry on watching I'm only about 5 mins in but needed to comment xx
Thank you so much, Natalie. Yes, as soon as I opened this pack I thought, "this is me".
Very beautiful. ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
I absolutely love the focal! So much wish I were closer to you so I could order from AJS!
Thank you so much Diana. I left an Amazon link in the blog post to a similar product. You can find that here:

Fibonacci numbers jewelry
Maybe an idea for that lasercutter.
Fibonacci numbers in nature could give inspiration.
Yeah, definitely. Thank you. We are currently looking at different kinds of patterns and using elements from nature like the nautilus shell.
@@The_Stylish_Maker
Saw pics where it's 4 Fibonacci figures in one, golden ratio.
Very small lasercut it would be like texture.
I guess.... patterns drawn first, and put around your wrist, would also show how it looks curved from different angles.
Love it! I have the kit!
Thank you Susan. Now you can play with the beads and make something fun too!
I enjoy watching you create! I make jewelry too and am always surprised to see that you don't use jump rings unless you want to change direction of the hang. May I ask, why is that? They help with keeping the dangles from kinking. Please elaborate. Thanks 😊
That's a good question. It really depends on what I'm creating. (I assume you mean between my components with loops on either end.) I do find that sometimes using a jump ring between the components can actually make them sit incorrectly. I don't really have the problem with things kinky much so I had never even thought about it. Sorry, I can't elaborate any further than that.
I don't understand when links are or how to access them.😊
