in ww2,My Grandfather Got 3 Bronze Stars,He Didn't Really Explain how,He did say He was N 4 major Campaigns with 85th Custard Division

So bronze star isn't really bronze? Isn't bronze mostly copper with a little bit of tin?

It's in reference to the color of the metal, not it's composition. Likewise, the silver star is not made of silver.

The quality is far, far less then the quality of the medals produced from other manufactures in the past. It's a shame that the quality has suffered compared to medals produced.
i believe the qualitiy from the bronce star is the same how for 70 years but its also a dream to work in a medal factory :)
