Go to the outskirts of the city where black Creoles own vast amounts of land,ranches, and livestock. The plot of land my house is on was a part of a Spanish Land grant given to my free black 6th grandmother Nanette St. Laurent who was a cattle rancher owner. My husband's father does cattle and has large amounts of land. My Mom has a nice home and a large plot of land. My father lives in another city in Louisiana and owns a mansion and multiple properties. Opelousas-St. Landry Parish has different areas and different types of ppl. I grew up in Larose,La as well and I had ppl living in old houses with nothing but $$$ in the wall.
