I am totally impressed. His comic and other talents are extraordinary. What couldn't he do?

Love Benny Hill ever since I first saw his show in the 70's here in Tennessee. I'm partial to British comedy and noticed several skits/jokes that would pop up in Are You Being Served. Just an observation.

Hysterical sketch with Patricia Hayes, "The Knock". The camera tricks of "Soap Box Jury" in 1961 were masterful for it's time. The masterpiece in this video clip is the timed action to the music heard on the radio.

Benny Hill was a comic genius, in my opinion. It's up to this generation to keep his comedy out there and on going through on-line video sites. All of his comedy...from these BBC sketches to the sketches he did at Thames Television...is great.

I recently learned that he fashioned himself, his comedy after Charlie Chaplin, his idol or who he admired, maybe even a little WC Fields as well. And now looking at his skits I see their essence threaded within Benny's comedy albeit I have only seen bits of Chaplin's art. WC FIELDS is also a damn hilarious character too, I love him as well. Benny reflects both them in both his looks and behavior . Wow I never knew that, I just enjoy so much of how they are able to make me laugh til I pee my pants LOL.

Jackie Ellabella he actually was a great fan of Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, W. C. Fields, all the silent comic genius. He used to have films, tapes, videos of all their movies, and sometimes he would invite Sue Upton to his apartment to come and watch the movies, she said sometimes watching a Chaplin film made him cry. So you can imagine his surprise when many many years later he went to Chaplin’s house in Switzerland and invited by his family (Chaplin’s) he saw on the fireplace mantle videos of his show The benny Hill...Charlie’s son said he was a great fan of his kind of comedy, Benny actually sat down and cried the emotions were too much for him according to his producer Kirkland.

Some of that was a bit dated and weak, but I was surprised how much of it was actually pretty risque for the time. He must've been sailing pretty close to the censor's wind with some of it. I'm a LONG time Benny fan, so I think it's fair to say that some of it wasn't very funny, but some parts were hilarious. As always though, he has some very clever word-play going on at all times.
