New Year in September. WOW, I'm speechless. I didn't know that, it's so beautiful 😍 I love the sun flowers decorations it's so gorgeous. Thank you, something new every day. Happy New Year 🎉 🎉🎊
Happy New year to all! Those are not Sunflowers. They are Ethiopian Miniature Wild Yellow Daisies, blooms around New year Season on September. We call them, " Adey Abebas". 👍
It is not a sunflower. It is a flower unique only for september and it is called Adiyo flower. Girls decorate themselves with this flower and sing new year songs (Enkutatash songs) and go around their village people and wish happy new year. The adults in response thanks and give them traditional goods for the girls. Sorry for longer explanation.
The sunflower and the yellow color of the decorations make them truly pop out! Glad you enjoyed your day and your pizza! Ethiopian New Year coming soon!
September in Ethiopia is the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the spring and sunny season. This is also the month the land would be covered with the yellow flower 🌼 known in Ethiopia as Adey Abeba. The flower symbolizes the new year. It’s all indigenous. Celebrating new year in January has no connection with Ethiopian seasons.
