How do they choose non-auto admittees? It seems like there is no rhyme or reason. Kids definitely ranked lower than my child, without flashy activities, were offered admission.
My son had an error on his application and his test score didn’t merge. He appealed(he was offered CAP) so while we aren’t holding our breath, we are not giving up hope.
My son applied to Architecture-Archi Engineering dual degree course and was CAPped. He already submitted his appeal to ask reconsideration. He also asked if he could change his major into architectural engineering. In your video, you listed 'civil engineering' as one of less competitive engineering majors. Do you think he would better add civil engineering for his 3rd choice? I don't know which is more competitive between civil and architectural engineering majors.
How does UT view a High School DE (through UT's program) grade of 90 on an external transfer application? Is that a 3.75 or a 4.0 in the calculation of that applicant's college GPA?
did it tell you you where rejected? i applied to business as my first choice, but it didn't tell me if I was rejected or accepted, it just told me I was accepted into my second choice major. maybe this is because I did business honors?
My son got into UT as undeclared liberal arts. His first choice was mccombs ‘s business school. Now he is OK to join economics. Will he be given an opportunity to choose economics as major? Or un declared means they will decide what he can take?
I accidentally accepted my auto-admission offer back in November, but I just got rejected from my major. Is there a deadline I have to now decline by? I think I'm still going to appeal, so I'll be waiting on that too...
Sir I have also applied to UT Austin the status was completed after 8 November and now my status shows in review I saw on the University website that those complete after 8 November would be interviewed in February and their result would be given on ist march is it right sir.and please tell me what dates of February are UT Austin conducts interview .
@@SteamChe If you apply to McComb business school and they're considering you for the honor program and they will contact you for an interview over the phone.
I wanna major in Statistics and Data Science (under college of natural sciences) and I got CAPPED. Having said that, if I meet the GPA and coursework requirement at a different UT school, does it guarantee me admission at my desired major at UT Austin in my sophomore year?
it doesn't; you're guaranteed any major in the college of liberal arts, but you'd need to apply for stats and data science. if you keep up a very high gpa, have good ecs, solid essays, and a great resume, your chances for stats or data science are pretty decent. CNS (non comp-sci) isn't as difficult as mccombs or cockrell.
Data science is a very new major to UT Austin, and it is not even available for any current CAP student to choose upon their major selection, at least for right now (I'm CAP rn). Something for you to consider if it's something you really want to do-- Idk how they're doing internal or external transfer for that major either, so maybe try to call and get some answers.
Yeah PACE is super rare, only about 200 students per year get it I think. It’s very similar to CAP. Basically students in PACE will take 1 class per semester at UT in their first year and the rest of their classes at Austin Community College (ACC) at Rio Grande. If they do really good in their coursework and get a good GPA then they are automatically admitted to their major at UT Austin IF it is in the College of Liberal Arts, College or Education, Moody College of Communication, or Steve Hicks School or Social Work
Thanks for these videos, your AMA and blog posts. They really helped us through the process.

I also got rejected from my business major.
There is no waitlisting, what should I do now

Can we try internel major transfer inside of Engineering undergraduated school during freshman or 2nd grade?
For international students UT is a joke. All my firends will perfect stats and extracurriculars did not get accepted. Really depressing
Same with most out of state students.
Even in state can be a mess too. One person at my school last year got into MIT EE but not UT EE.
@@zzane4677 Top students will eventually stop applying if it is just a wasted application.
It’s also Texas so merica
I got in from Costa Rica to McCombs
Is CAP offered to EVERY rejected in-state applicant?
Could you please tell about the Honors (Dean’s Scholar) decision. Is it coming out after getting the general acceptance letter?
When can we expect Turing Scholars decision?
I got rejected into my first choice major in McCombs, what should I do?

Did u ever find out the answer? I’m in the same situation right now

You can probably call up the admissions office or email them.
For CAP is economics guaranteed as its liberal arts? I heard it wasn't but wasn't sure.
it is

You didn’t spend time with PACE - is this rare? Daughter was offered this.
