    Tygr 300r is on sale for $150.00. Best gaming headphone for the money in my opinion. 109 pro for $800.00… diminishing returns is real thing in my experience with more expensive headphones especially when using them for gaming.
    You can get a tygr300 and a nice dac/amp for way cheaper.

    I'm using the 99 classics for years now. By far the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned! And the perfect sound profile for me. But I do like the open back experience from my Astro a50's on console. I think the new Meze's would be the perfect headphones for me, and I'm definitely going to test these out at the hifi store here in the city. Thanks for your review, you made me very curious.

    I have a few headsets that I bounce between depending on how I want my game to sound, or what I want/need to hear in the game, but for games like Ghost of Tsushima where the environment, enemies and direction is incredibly important, I have a pair of open-back audiophile headphones from Philips that I will use. I even have a 3.5mm cable with a mic on it from Koss that I use with it so if I'm online I can communicate. They're also nice for games like theHunter: Call of the Wild for the environment and rustling in the brush when something's coming up at your 5 o'clock, but not totally necessary. I do understand the love for headphones while gaming, and a lot of streamers use the Beyerdynamic ones when they have a desktop mic.

    What amplifier do I need to connect these to my Xbox Series X?

    • @MJordanisGod23
      @MJordanisGod23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm confused on how to use them on console. Do I just plug them into the controller with the 3mm cord and start gaming? Does an amplifier act as like the game DAC does for the arctis wireless nova pro? I'm ignorant to this kind of tech. If using an amp, does the amp plus into the system with a USB?

    • @JonofBerglund
      @JonofBerglund 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any amp would be nice. But the problem with series x is that it only outputs sound through usb for companies that pays license fees to Microsoft. For example steelseries or astros own gear for Xbox specifically. And there is no toslink/optical out on the series x. In my case I have a sound blasterX g6, have to use my tv’s optical out for sound and power it through the usb on my Xbox.

    • @MJordanisGod23
      @MJordanisGod23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonofBerglund I primarily game on my PS5, so can I get an an amp that plugs into the USB of the system and they will work? What is the purpose of the amp?

    • @JonofBerglund
      @JonofBerglund 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a difference between a dac and an amp. Ex the blasterX g6 is a dac/amp combo. Easy explanation is that the amp gives the headphone more power, the dac makes the signal/sound better. It’s also headphone dependant. I have a pair of fostex t50rp, great for gaming but they require a lot of power to drive them. Without a amp the sound is quiet and weak, a proper amp turns them in to amazing headphones. So it also depends on your headphone, less expensive headphone’s usually don’t have the same potential, but also doesn’t need an amp to sound decent. Watch badseedtech’s 101 gaming dac video, think he explains it okay. As for ps5, I don’t know what is going to work on it. When I use my g6 on my Xbox the mic doesn’t work as I plug it in through my tv’s optical out. But if it’s licensed for the ps5 it should be able to run through the usb.
      Maybe not the best explanation. But I love it. I use my g6 to listen to music and game on my pc and for gaming on my Xbox. It’s really a game changer sound wise going from directly plugging my headphone in to my controller/pc to using an external dac/amp.

      @@JonofBerglund I'm just trying to figure how the console will recognize the headset. How would they plug into the ps5? 3mm through the controller? I looked at the ifi zen amp, but there isn't a USB cable that comes with it.

      No offense but both of those gaming headsets are overpriced and mediocre at best . If you want real audio start with a pair of headphones that are branded toward young kids. Start with the Tygr 300r or Pc38X

      @@valitsemllaluokanavahyvaks3556 its not though. The market for audio envelops both gaming and music listening. This is just an option for the people that have the budget that will go for this premium product. The value proposition is entirely subjective. Is it out of budget for majority of people and gamers? Yes, but the same goes for pretty much any luxury product.
