    The Dark Forest theory reminded me of a short horror story where we finally receive a signal from space that can be translated into binary, but it's only enough for a very short message: "Be quiet or they will hear you."

    One of my favourite underrated space facts is redshifting.
    Basically, the older and farther away something in the Universe is from us the redder it will appear to our eyes. This is because the light that had to travel to us has been stretched thin and shifted into a lower energy state which changes its colour, the lowest being red until we just can't see it anymore.
    A strange, completely stupid me thought that I often think about a lot in regards to redshifting is how this could potentially change a space-faring human civilization's perception of the colour red itself. Colours are often ascribed many symbolic meanings and maybe to a space accustomed society, one with a far more knowledgeable and widespread understanding of redshifting as we know it today, red could be seen as symbolic of old age, longevity, vast distances, the passage of time or even the brink of death.
    Us stupid monkeys with our zappy jelly brains will always come up with bullshit ways for a thing to mean a thing so I think something like that is totally possible, also it sounds SUPER cool. I've thought about this maybe too much...

      Our Sun is supposedly green in reality, as it emits more green color than any other, our primitive eyes just didn't evolve to see it that way, because from point of evolution we didn't need to. Now if we're talking human reality, the Sun is white and not yellow. Makes me wonder what is the true color of sunspots, in electronics' reality and human reality or should I say our perspective. Our atmosphere bends the light and we see our Sun from yellow, orange to pink, and to think the Sun is white from our perspective and green in reality.

    Dark matter is probably the most odd topic I’ve ever had to go through in any lesson ever.
    We shortly talked about it in a physics class. It was weird to comprehend that when dark matter and other dark matter colide, nothing happens, considering that the subject we were talking about this in often seeks to explain how everything affects each other, and dark matter just doesn’t?
    The topic was pretty much closed after 40 minutes, simply cause every question was answered with either “we don’t know” or “we can’t know for sure”.

    • @belladonnahigh9206
      @belladonnahigh9206 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      Dark matter is just the name for "we really have no clue", same with dark energy which is another name for "we really have no clue".
      I'm of the opinion the bigbang just started and is releasing energy, making it bigger and bigger. Remember time is different for everyone and everything. If the true perspective of time is at lightspeed, then we can be in a giant explosion (at least for us) and we live in a very slowed down time, when in fact for those conducting their form of nuclear blast we exist for less than a fraction of second. This would also explain why parts of the universe - essentially a giant nuclear blast - expands quicker in different places and slower in the rest, because explosions are never symmetrical. You ever saw slowmo videos? Of course you did, just see how much happens in milliseconds, which we can't see. The blast conducted by those who watch it, it barely started, so much so, they don't see it right now. If they had slowmo cameras recording basically at time almost stopped and be able to see inside of said explosion, maybe they'd see us, forming, see the dinosaurs, us having these debates and faaar more after we're long gone.
      Look at it from an insect's perspective, that for us lives just a day. For this insect the whole day is going so slow, that by midnight from it's perspective, it has lived a good life of 80 human years. From those doing the explosion, for us they're like statues, that never move. From their's, we exist for less than 0,00000000000000000000001 of a second (don't know the math, added these zeroes for general understanding).
      One more thing. Go see an atom bomb in slow-motion, it looks like a Sun with spikes crashing with Earth, and that 1-3 minute video in reality lasts for less than a fraction of a second. Time is really a weird dimension if you think about it.
      So basically what I'm saying is some intelligent specie just conducted a nuclear blast, maybe even less than that and for them it is passing, and we are in it. Who knows if we didn't create bazillions of lives through our atom bomb tests. They were their big bangs.

    • @zaiz6018
      @zaiz6018 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@belladonnahigh9206 That's honestly quite a fascinating idea. With the little knowledge we have of the existence of our universe, it can't really be disproven nor proven, so it's definitely something to think about. Thanks for sharing, must have taken some time to type out (and was really well explained too).

    • @WarThunderfunny

    Since the ISS is so close to the atmosphere (it’s actually dragging along the atmosphere) that when astronauts do spacewalks a lot of the smell that is detectable is mostly ozone. That area of the atmosphere is loaded with it due to the interactions of our atmosphere and solar radiation. Fun fact: the ISS has to be constantly pushed upwards during refueling missions, otherwise the atmospheric drag would have deorbited the ISS by now.

    • @hanamaomao
      @hanamaomao 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    FYI, Fe (iron) is not usually made by supernovas. It is the last element that can be fused by stars, however, once iron synthesis begins, the star is going to die within seconds. Iron synthesis doesn’t release energy, like the fusion of lighter elements, it takes energy. At this point the supernova will begin because of the rebounding pressure waves within the star. Depending on size, there’ll be a supernova that creates all elements heavier than Iron, or it’ll become a black hole, the outer layers ejected, nothing else will ever come from that star beyond Hawking radiation.

    Pretty proud of myself, I knew at least one thing on every level all the way down to 7! But I learned a lot of super interesting stuff, as well. Would really like to see more of these long-form videos from you; your passion for space really shows!
    1:04:25 Side note, can anyone explain to me why exactly the Axis of Evil points to us as a sort of focal point in the universe? I don't really understand how cosmologists go from 'there's a slight difference in energy on the two hemispheres' to 'oh we're the protagonists of the universe,' so to speak. It's very interesting, don't get me wrong; I'm just confused how they got there. Much appreciated!

      I don't personally know, but it seems to me like it is making an inexplicable difference whether something is above or below our solar system which shouldn't make sense, with the leap of logic being we must be in a simulation or there must be a god or something that made the universe with the intention that the solar system is 'the floor' and that the above and below of us are important to the universe because we are important to the universe. Which we don't think should be the case. It's much more likely something we're not accounting for is skewing things rather than the universe 'caring' about how we're positioned.
      Essentially the leap in logic is because someone wants to believe, and nothing else explains an unknown yet. Much like unidentified object = advanced aliens with space ships. The leap in logic is much more likely just hardcore alien lovers wanting to believe, and nothing else explains the unidentified object yet. And people who want to believe we're in a simulation or that a god created the universe are exploiting our inability to explain this thing as proof of their hypothesis. Tl;dr humans have wild imaginations.

      from the video the axis of evil is simply like we are on border of the hotter and colder side of universe. why protagonist? well because being on border really makes us very very unique other than being the only planet with life. basically its like there is red and blue team but you are alone and have a lone ground between them dividing them (kinda like protagonist in every movie anime etc) imagine you being center of everything.
      the thing that confuses me is how did scientist mark it as error in data?
