I took a HF cart and turned it into my GTAW machine cart..... $35 cart, 3 tier, red paint. Man.... Did I pump hrs. into that project!!! Custom manifold with air drier for plasma cutter, widened rear axle under argon tank, brackets to hold hoses and leads, modified shelf to fit tig machine water cooler.... lots of work!!!!!!!!!!
Perfect timing. Hobart 210 expected tomorrow and in need of a cart. It’s my first welder but have watched almost all of Jody’s videos and listen to each podcast. Even bought and read the books suggested. Ordered a 300 amp Tweco ground clamp to upgrade.
I made one like this 5 years ago, for my Dynasty 200DX.....Couldn't live without it! Great for the job site,, welding out handrails a floor up and a floor down, with the cart on the landing in between. Takes up little enough room, and its possible to get it up the stairs, easy for two folks.
This is great! I've been considering buying a Lincoln 210mp for a while now based on your videos. JD seems like a guy who knows his stuff, and seeing him using is so often doing mobile repair seals the deal for me. Soon I hope to start my own repair business. Seems like perfect machine to get started. The HF cart idea is genius! Thanks for all the great info Jody!
best mobile cart design I've seen, my Tig machine is already on a typical cart but I wanted something highly mobile for the new mig, this is it! Thanks Jody!
I had my Everlast welder on a hand truck for about a year until I got a powerplasma cutter and needed to put them on a proper welding cart. I love your design.
GREAT video. When I first saw this on JDs instagram I thouht that was super cool idea! I am glad you did a video of it giving me a closer look. You guys should put DIY kits up for sale. What i like most is it does not take up much floor space.
Great video. Enjoyed the build process on this one, the cart looked well balanced when he was done, easy to wheel around. Alot to learn from JD for sure
thanks Paul, this was something I asked JD to design mostly just for some video content. Turns out its a pretty functional cart. I am sure your upright cart will be awesome.
We use the HF carts in our tree service daily. The build quality on the rims/hub has gotten horrible. Some welds don't even touch both sides. The wheels will fail!!! Anyways, with the weight on the cart, JD should swap those out for HF 13" flat free w/steel hub. The center are constructed differently and hold up to 200-300 chunks of wood for us.
When I first saw that cart, I thought it looked great until I saw how it is moved. We have one little welder(Lincoln 180 amp MIG) and it can be carried in one hand and the bottle in the other. No strapping and unstrapping stuff. All of the other welders weight between 400 and 650 lbs and are easily moved by a fork truck or any thing with pallet forks.
That's pretty slick. The only thing I would change would be to have some lightening panels cut out from the gusset and the pan that holds the welder. Every little bit helps.
Thank you Jody for share this project, JIMBO build one like this, but with different technique, you two make good videos, it's good to learn from the best teachers. MOUNTAIN EAGLE
I actually bought a Home Depot hand truck to haul around my HF welder, now if I can stop using the hand truck for hauling other crap around the house maybe I'll have the time to do something like this and use it for what I bought it for.
Seems like if you take the bottle off the cart would tip backwards and damage the machine .How does it balance? I would like to build one but was wondering about stability
My only complaint with that same cart is that the tires don't stay inflated. Added a set of the flat free ones and now it's good. Seems to be a common issue with those 4" tires on just about everything...
Hey Jody am starting weld school in couple weeks and am fixing to buy my first heliarc to practice out of class and can't decide on either ahp alpha tig 200x or everlast 185 DV. I seen the everlast run 6010 rod so that a huge plus practicing pipe root. What do you think sir. Thanks
weldingtipsandtricks, I would like to ask you if I make a cart welding with four wheels in the back it will be easy to handle when I move the cart in different directions?
Clever design. That particular 2 wheeler from HF is their best one in my opinion. The tires and wheels are still shit but easy to find better replacements. I have a Fireball square set, very handy. Thanks for the vid.
Hello I’m Evon, I have a weld pack 100 mig wldr and 210 mp both Lincoln electric. And I have a question if propane can be used for shielding gas for aluminum welding?
Hi Jody, Congratulations on having such a great channel that is very easy to follow and also very informative. Just a quick couple of questions: 1) When you talk about Dual shield flux core mig welding, do you just run the standard flux core wire with the argon/co2 gas or is it a special dual shield wire that you have to use? 2) Also, when welding Dual shield flux core with the argon/co2 gas do you still have to run the same polarity as standard flux core? positive earth/ground ? Please let us know, as I'm sure that there are thousands of other welders/boilermakers that would like to know the answer to this as well. Thanks Jody, we really appreciate your knowledge and expertise. Kind Regards from All Welders/Boilermakers.
it needs a roll cage that way you can leave your stuff permanently attached without disassembling everything all the time, unless it's co2 or acetylene
What's up JD! How's it going Jody? For those that don't know JD, you may know Jimmy Diresta. JD is up at Jimmy's building some custom fabricated doors for Jimmy's new shop. Go check them both out on Instagram to see the progress. ;-)
This is by far the most versatile type of welder cart especially if you do site work. I personally like the carts with two sets of wheels the upright carts that double as a flat pallet cart are the best as you can weld the swivel wheels straight and use them to roll the welder, gas and cart into your ute or small truck rather than having to lift the entire thing or remove bits a few modifications here and there and these chinese made sack trolleys as we call them make the absolute best welder carts! Also the problem with the cart tipping over when you pull the gas off can be solved with a telescoping pipe on an angle on the welder mounted side... obviously on a mig welder this is more difficult to position as you dont want it in front of your wire spool door! Similar to this one but you have to extend all the wheels out a bit so when its flipped horizontal your welder isnt scraping along the ground or ute deck! www.bunnings.co.nz/upright-adjustable-hand-trolley_p02972621 See I dont even remove the welder or gas from the cart when loading into a ute! HUGE TIME SAVING!!
You should tell JD to take the harbor freight tires to a shop and have them filled with solid rubber! Makes the inflatable tires indestructible! Will outlast you and me!
REALLY? If your a welder you are just a lazy sob if you dont make this yourself! All you got to do is go buy a cheap sack trolley and go at it! Doesnt need to be made the same as what JD and Jody have done here there are a million different ways to do this. I used a bunch of scrap I had lying around. Yes not as pretty as this but it could be if I put the time into it.
austingtir seriously? Of course I could build my own, but if someone offers a kit that STILL HAS TO BE WELDED TOGETHER, for a nominal fee, they are saving me a good amount of design time, not to mention it's done on the CNC plasma which I don't have..plus, I'm sure they are going to refine the product more before they sell it, which is also worth paying for...plus I'm supporting a content creator I like...anyone here could build that...that isn't the point....

I mean, it's guys like you that make me want to be a better fabricator. No joke! Simple brilliance, I love that!
Necessity is the mother of invention. Awesome idea for a hand truck.

radishfever nice!!
Thanks J.D. ; Super excited and really feel like I have a leg up on knowledge from everything you guys share.

James M working on it
You guys have awesome ideas for making welder/fab workers lives easier. Practical and helpful. Thanks
Love the hell hook great idea. I been using a cart like that for small oxygen and acetylene tanks for years.
Thanks for putting in the time to share this Jodie, love what you and jd are doing!
The parts from JD's Plasma CAM design fit beautifully.
Great video. Enjoyed the build process on this one, the cart looked well balanced when he was done, easy to wheel around. Alot to learn from JD for sure
I love stuff like this. So clever.
Very cool idea on the he'll hook
That is one well thought out cart. This is a design I will be copying.
Great idea! I use a Miller trailblazer with a remote wire feeder; this will keep my feeder off the floor. Thanks
Also let me get rid of that fifty foot gas hose. Takes a lot of gas too purge that bastard!
What a lovely design!!!
Nice adaptation of a trolley!
Many clever touches in the design of that cart.
Great design! I have the 210MP also and have been planning to build a cart for it. You're just in time, thanks.
Awesome cart. I need one.👌
Any chance the dxf file for this is available?
Looks great JD and Jody! I've been working on a hand truck type cart, too!
ZTFab nice.... this definitely is no ZT cart...and pretty heavy on this ish!!!
Can't wait to see what you create!
thanks Paul, this was something I asked JD to design mostly just for some video content. Turns out its a pretty functional cart. I am sure your upright cart will be awesome.
Perfect timing. I just picked up a portable Mig machine and need a cart
I don't even work with that type of welding but this makes me want too so I can use this design haha. Good stuff man!
mexicansuperman nice!
Cool cart kit JD. Not bad for a quick little mobile job.
We use the HF carts in our tree service daily. The build quality on the rims/hub has gotten horrible. Some welds don't even touch both sides. The wheels will fail!!!

desertvs I like those type wheels... kept it simple for the video but I will definitely upgrade the wheels

Reid Eichner thank you... it works well so far!
Dont you hate it when you see a product and say why didnt I think of that...:D Thanks for sharing.
Seems like if you take the bottle off the cart would tip backwards and damage the machine .How does it balance? I would like to build one but was wondering about stability
Lucru bine gândit și frumos executat.
Vă salut prieteni!
Do you like those TIG-WEL welding gloves and where do you get them?
Be excellent if you sold these brackets at your store! Or any good version of brackets that go with HF dollys
My only complaint with that same cart is that the tires don't stay inflated. Added a set of the flat free ones and now it's good. Seems to be a common issue with those 4" tires on just about everything...
Thanks for sharing. I'll be looking for the plans or a kit, whatever you sell it as.
Was he using dual shield to assemble the cart? Didn't see any flux to clean up
That is one of the best ideas for a cart, Very kool, thanks for the video.
Muito bom sou do BRASIL e não perco seus vídeos muito esclarecedor sou soldador industrial e curto muito seu canal parabéns.
Muito bom...útil....fácil transporte

Thx for sharing.
Could you make, please, video about clamps you usually use on table or maybe you have already such video..
Jodi,
I love it. Are sketches of the parts available? I can make my own but it would be easier.
James Taylor I will put them out soon.
weldingtipsandtricks, I would like to ask you if I make a cart welding with four wheels in the back it will be easy to handle when I move the cart in different directions?

Kevin N and it was the cheapest one too.. win-win.... but the wheels are sooooo bad
Did you ever make any of them kit up yet to make these.
You should sell those as a welding kart kit, or let me borrow that plasma table and jd for a day lol.
Johnny missfire I'll be selling them soon
JD Brewer awesome!!!!!
Does JD fab the cut outs for sale? That would work out great.
Thats an awesome Idea! I can use it for my mini mig welder
Any plans for the plasma cut parts by chance ?!?!
you should put out some plans for this.
Iton Joans I will!
or even sell a kit of already cut out parts that we can weld onto a cheap harbor freight cart
I need one that will accommodate dual-cylinders for a Miller 215.
Hello I’m Evon, I have a weld pack 100 mig wldr and 210 mp both Lincoln electric. And I have a question if propane can be used for shielding gas for aluminum welding?
Propane is a flammable gas so can't be used as a shielding (inflammable) gas. Hope this helps.
Thanks. Hard for me to get Argon where I live.
That's badass
I've trying to figure out a cart for my everlast power MIG 200 welding that would work
In the sand

Awesome video Jody and jd . 👊🏻🙏
I can not @#$%ing believe that at the time of my viewing of this video eleven idiots thumbed it down.
lencost1 it's those dimwit incels, so dumb they hate on any bloke called Jody.
very nice ,,,thanks for the video
Great job, that plasma cam is awesome, how long does it take jd to design/draw/program a few parts like these? Again that is very impressive.
Robert Blackman I made quick prototypes of the wierd pieces... it took me four trys to iron out the kinks.... probably 3-4hours of design with scrap
Thanks for the video.
Duncan MacKenzie thanks for watching!
Oh dude. I'm getting that hook. That's where I hang my helmet anyway. This would just be safer.
Neat product for sure.
hey ! can i get a setup , parts i need to make a plasma cam ? and how thick plates , what metals can i cut with it ?
Should really talk to JD about putting out the plans for this. I'd pay for the cad file.
shobboxx working on it.... I have no idea how to.... but I'm working on it
so when can we order the flat packs
That is a great idea, thanks for sharing it!
it needs a roll cage that way you can leave your stuff permanently attached without disassembling everything all the time, unless it's co2 or acetylene
Great commentary!
Are the plans available?
What wire does he use for dual shield I have looked and cant find it in .030.
C2welder ..o35 outershield 71m by Lincoln electric
JD Brewer Thank you.
What's up JD! How's it going Jody? For those that don't know JD, you may know Jimmy Diresta. JD is up at Jimmy's building some custom fabricated doors for Jimmy's new shop. Go check them both out on Instagram to see the progress. ;-)

At 8:11 just grabs the bottle and sets it up on the dock.....damn son....
That hook might give you half a chance of saving your regulator if the cylinder fell over, too.
I would buy a set if the wheels were 20" bicycle wheels
Thanks
how that 210mp stack up to a miller 215?
Sam don't have a miller but soon going to find out how it stacks up to esab's 215
oh interesting so many options now days. Thanks
Sweeeeeet !
Hello, I'm wondering if you would conduct private lessons for a fee. Thanks!
Sell these as kits!
Dwayne Cannon I would buy one in a heartbeat!! I have that same handcart holding my argon cylinder, hood, welding leads.
I will get setup to do that
How will we know if/when they are available?
@@jdbrewer6638 is this a kit that is available? Are the dxf files for sale?
@@jdbrewer6638 where?/when need 2
You should tell JD to take the harbor freight tires to a shop and have them filled with solid rubber! Makes the inflatable tires indestructible! Will outlast you and me!
Marken Wolfram I'll look into that
will be a pain to change gas bottles...
exlent trally
You should partner with the guy from weldtables.com and sell those as a kit....I'd buy one, no question!!
I second that....I'd buy it.
Nathan Hamler I'll be selling them soon
I third that. I would buy one.

I'd be afraid of one of those semi-square tires losing air and dumping the whole thing on its back.
Nice work, however, Harbor Freight … just say no.
Rich Wojehowski that is normally my motto as well
Lincoln should be beating JD’s door down so he can properly show off their machines instead of that bunch of clowns they’ve been using!
All of that work then uses a shitty strap
Sorry you have to use that terrible plasma table. He is so behind in CAD
