This song is so underrated. It's also a song that perfectly shows MJ's both sides : the angry political rebel who fights the system and the compassionate man who despises war and love the people. His voice switches accordingly between agressive, manly and more angelical and compassionate.

the last few lines of the song, you can really hear the range of his voice, he can sing calmly and it had the certain lightness to it, and he can sing like he was fighting for something. And the fact that he blended both of those but still sounded so good is PERFECTION.

I used to sing to this a lot when I was a kid.
One of my first experiences where music really took a grip on me.
I remember feeling all sorts of different emotions throughout this tune with the changing moods and all, and to this day I do.
Tried to explain that to my parents but they never really caught what I was trying to say.
Today I play in my band and that feels like that experience as a child but in a much more intense way.
I find it amazing how sound and music and affect so much a person if given the proper sensibilities.
Along with "Magical Mystery Tour" by The Beatles, this album I believe were the first I consciously remember putting on and listening on headphones and being lost and never wanting to come back.

Back in January 2015, my daughter, Leah Frazier, was contacted by a young man from France who wanted to speak to her about the work she had done on the title track of Michael Jackson's HIStory album (her part on the song begins at the 5:20 mark).
He interviewed her, as well as others who worked on the album and who were invited to visit Neverland as a celebration for the wrap of the recording. He was writing his third book on Michael and wanted to hear about how he was to work with, and to hear any other recollections she may have had about her time spent with him. He contacted her today to let her know that her copy of the book had been sent out to her home. It was almost two years in the making with all of the interviewing he had to do. I'm looking forward to reading it.
The book was recently released on Amazon, and I am unaware of the questions she was asked or how she is portrayed in the book. Unfortunately there were no pictures taken with Michael, as they were not allowed, but she did send him some current pictures of herself. At the time of the recording, she had just turned 10 years old, today she is 31...time flies :)
Her work on the CD was just a small part on the title track 'HIStory,' but she did receive album credit as one of the child singers, and was paid a nice sum from Sony Records for her short amount of time spent. It was the last song recorded, and Michael didn't need Leah to sing on the album, but he wanted her to after he asked her to sing a song for him in the studio.
I have fond memories of my time spent with Michael. The night we met him (through gospel singer Andre Crouch) in a recording studio in Los Angeles, he had one of his assistants take our orders for Mexican food and the three of us went upstairs to a small room that overlooked where the recording was taking place below with Andre Crouch and his group of singers who were doing background vocals, we ate and watched cartoons on TV :))
The name of the new book is 'Let's Make History,' by Brice Najar
