This ethereal, lavishly mellodic, haunting ballad was produced out of chaos in Michael Jackson’s life written in response at the time he was being accused of child sex abuse. The song is about a man who is trying to have his voice heard while he is being crucified by the media.

Because he trusted the wrong people, who ended up betraying him. He couldn't find a way to forgive his father and make peace with himself. He struggled with his own emotions, not letting anybody in. He shut his family out completely and took matters into his own hands. He lost his way to happiness and unfortunately, he died with a broken heart.
