It's really simple, Mozart was a complete musical genius. It truly is tragic that he died at the young age of 35. To think that he produced more than 800 compositions of virtually every genre of his time, is a clear indication of his iconic status in history.
What's one of your favorite Mozart works?
It often makes me sad. It was that long journey to Prague (for that big assignment) that proved fatal.
One of the best conductors in the world.
One of my favorite symphonies. Especially the first movement is incredible. Mozart’s music was really maturing (take for example his last symphonies, the ave verum, magic flute and requiem), but unfortunately, he left us so early.
Orozco-Estrada has got to be one of the best interpreters of classical music today. The orchestra’s incredible harmony; rhythm; and tonality are a clear testimony of what a great conductor can achieve. Everyone of their renditions are evidence of musical eloquence.
Yeah, he is no doubt one of the best conductors today, but his lack of feeling to appropriate tempo makes many of his interpretations less enjoyable, despite the orchestra always playing the piece wonderfully. I am not talking just about this symphony, he often tends to conduct faster than it is elegant in my opinion...

The conductor’s expression at the end of the first movement says it all: pure delight at the beauty the orchestra produced. ❤
What an absolutely stunning, vibrant and happy performance! So fresh, crisp and different than Boehm, Walter, Von Karajan and the many others. I smiled all the way throughout the reading...but isn't that what Mozart is supposed to make us do? This is truly a "world class" orchestra filled with musicians who are exceptionally gifted and committed to performing at the highest possible level. Bravo Maestro!!!
I agree. Everyone else sounds embalmed and stuffed compared to this.
Yes, there's a lightness of touch and playfulness often missing in the more reverent traditional performances.

Finally a conductor worthy of this piece. The tempo is correct. Mozart revealed like never before. Sir Colin Davis would be proud of you all. The slower pace of other conductors dissolves the beauty. Faster than this performance would indeed be too fast, but this tempo rocks. It's a small window. Mozart is nearly impossible to play. Hardly anyone gets it right. These amazing musicians have created a wonder.

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser perfekt komponierten Sinfonie mit gut harmonisierten und perfekt synchronisierten Tönen aller Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und fast himmlisch. Der intelligente Maestro dirigiert das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut phrasierten Tempo und mit sorgföltig kontrollierter Dynamik. Wahrlich tröstend in dieser schwierigen Zeit unter der Coronavirus Infektion. Danke wie immer!
wer von den zu sehenden Menschen hat denn eine Corona-Infektion. Will sagen, die sog. Infizierten sind lediglich mit einem nicht validierten und unzuverlässigen PCR-Test als positiv getestet worden und zeigen keinerlei Symptome einer Krankheit. Orozco-Estrada - прекрасный концертный дирижер. Однако музыка В.А. Моцарта не только об этом. В течение пятнадцати лет я слушаю вечером, перед сном, в течение часа музыку Моцарта как средство синхронизации всех органов моей души и тела. Я забыл о болезнях, болях, стрессах. Я вновь стал здоровым, сильным, энергичным, влюбленным, творческим. Это в мои 84 года. Вторую жизнь мне подарил Моцарт в интерпретации Карлоса Клайбера. Это давалось дирижеру через десятки репетиций.
Orozco-Estrada - это "танцующий" дирижер, который даже не удосужился выучить партитуру наизусть, провести музыку через свою душу, как это делал Клайбер.

Besides the Andante of the Mozart's symphony K543 Schwanengesang,I love the first movement and the Andante of the K550,the Allegro vivace,the Andante,the Menuet and the last movement of the K551.These 3 symphonies for their value and extratemporal significance are unique for prime beauty and spirituality
The 39th is far below the 2 others, in my opinion.

Music has an enormous power, not only mentally/emotionally but also physically and socially. That was a great performance. I love the brisk tempos. The orchestra was an interesting hybrid of period and modern instruments.
Definitely the horns and trumpets were period instruments, I'm not sure what else though. I feel like period brass is the bare minimum to achieve the ideal instrumental balance for most of these classical symphonies. The period trumpet especially is subtle in a way that a modern trumpet simply is incapable of being.

Very good performance. I like the dancing conductor, which is reflected in the orchestra. Mozart was a passionate dancer himself. The tempo in the menuet is too fast.

The last movement has a similar drive to it as the Beethoven seventh last movement. Rhythmic figures propel the music forward.

Wow. The difference between this and Furtwangler’s is very noticeable. Where this is very nice and pleasant, Furtwangler almost carves ridges into your brain. Especially the third movement.

Had to stop listening, as the slow movement was beginning to sound a scherzo. Fantastic orchestra, loving playing, but what is it with taking everything so fast? It reduces the music to near incoherency at times. Lovely details are constantly missed. Had the conductor a plane to catch afterwards?
