Still searching on your channel about :
1: when applying screeding, how one verifies that the floor is trully horizontal. My builder suggest pouring water and see where it pools off. For vertical walls afterplastering , how one verifies that the plastered work is vertical.
2: water harvesting method by way an external concrete tank. One builder suggesting a rectangular tankthat is above surface whereas one guy says a circular one and bellow ground.
How far are you from country code 263

      When applying screeding
When doing flooring, I use a dumpy level, which I believe is the most accurate way to determine the required flat floor level or slope.
If you don't have a dumpy level, we normally use a 2.4m long spirit level.
If you don't have the long spirit level, use a transparent pipe, with water inside to determine the real level to set the floor to a required level
After plastering when verifying whether the plastered area is vertical, that is quite simple. We use a plumb line. If you dont have a plumb line, Stand crossectionally (not opposite the wall) close one eye, and you will clearly see all the dips in the wall very well.
Concerning water harvesting it depends on the budget of the client. When constructing, a simple bangalow house. We simply collect from the nearest tap or well to the reservoir tanks using a simple diesel water pump or via the national water line.
If it is a larger project(storeyed building) simply
      1. dig a well (cheap: around 1000 usd$ excluding reservoir tanks) which can be connected to hydro electricity to pump water or solar or even pumping manually to reservoir tanks
      Or
      2. Drill using a drilling rig to pump water to overhead tanks standing on the steel stand tank tower ( expensive: around 8000 usd$ for only drilling)
Any of the above 2 options can work . Good thing with them is that they stay forever and you don't incur any other charges in the long run since you are pumping underground water.
Both circular and rectangular can work depending on the budget for the client. Rectangular HDG(Metallic) are better though expensive than HDPE (Plastic) cheaper Circular tanks can also work. The metallic stay longer and are stable as overhead tanks.
      I hope that helps
I come from 256 currently working on a project in 254

Why you didnt deduct the bend deduction from the cutting length ?

    • @ianconstruction
      @ianconstruction  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

For academic purposes, use the academic formulas throughout all calculations for the sake of passing.
But for practical work simply follow the structural drawing without complicating things or using any formula, everything is direct.
Personally, to he honest I have never deducted any bend anywhere when preparing a bar bending schedule
But I can remember deducting bends of 135⁰ and 90⁰ when I was still at campus.
For practical work, we simply follow the procedures as explained in the video step by step
