You can't go wrong with Castlevania in October! This was the most requested Castlevania song from the 2021 GaMetal Song Ballot. It's also the winner of our most recent GaMetal Discord Request Battle, beating out all other Castlevania songs.
Some info on this song's title: the official Aria of Sorrow soundtrack goes only with the name of the first song that is represented in this arrangement, Don't Wait Until Night, which is originally from Haunted Castle, but most people know this song by the name of the second song from the arrangement, Heart of Fire from the first Castlevania.

Be warned, Julius was known to have made onions cry and killed two stones with one bird. I also totally forgot I requested this song long ago so my jaw dropped when I saw my name there
Not to mention Julius is capable of outright obliterating monsters that normally require sealing magic to keep down. Which would also explain how he killed Dracula hard enough to be reborn as a human.

Julius just casually ripping apart the damn castle with his Grand Cross. As if he wanted to say "forget Richter, I'm like that but cooler".
And he is.
Canonically, each generation of the Belmonts get stronger than the previous one, so yeah, he *is* stronger than Richter. Let's remember he was almost sixty when he did that. Imagine how strong he was at his prime.

Julius Belmont: the vampire hunter so powerful that even when holding back, he’s still the toughest fight in Aria. The vampire hunter so powerful that his Grand Cross has the ability to _blow Castlevania itself apart_ when he’s pushing _sixty_ .The vampire hunter so powerful that when he gets knocked down, he isn’t even close to out of the fight; he’s just testing to see if Soma will spare him or not.
Is it even an argument that anyone compares? This guy is so strong he killed Dracula forever, and almost killed him forever a second time.
He DID killed him two times, if we take Extra mode after Bad Ending of Dawn of Sorrow he truly killed Dracula once in for all again
Well, it is canon that each generation of the Belmonts is stronger than the previous ones, they get stronger each time. Julius is the last Belmont and the family had been kicking Dracula's arse for centuries. Of course he is a monster among monsters.
The only characters in Castlevania lore that can even compare to him are Dracula himself, Soma and maybe Alucard.
The game that truly shows just how powerful the Belmonts (and the Vampire Killer) really are, though, is Order of Ecclesia. Even with all the power than Shanoa has, Dracula treats her like a joke, a mid time amusement until someone with the Vampire Killer arrives, and once she makes him go even a bit serious, the only way for her to do anything at all to him is to use his own power against him, at the cost of her own life.

Castlevania: Millenium Battle
While I would really love to see the game too, I think nothing will meet up to the fans' expectations.
This man is canonically the strongest Belmont. As far as we know, he single-handedly eliminated Dracula for the last time.
This 50-something year old dude looked at the man who inherited Dracula's powers, and not only did he challenge him to a one-on-one, but he decided "yeah might have to hold back for this one", and straight up killed him in the sequel (granted, he has 2 people helping him at that point, but still).
That is if you get the bad ending the good ending is where soma refuses to become Dracula and also that’s just a massive callback to Dracula’s curse
Well, we know that there was an army on Castlevania, as the zombie soldiers are from the battle of 1999. And Alucard was also there. But yes, he is the strongest Belmont we have seen.

I doubt Konami ever makes it, so I just hope they license it out to someone who cares like Iga and co. or PlayStation, who would then probably hire Iga to consult I imagine

I've beaten Aria of Sorrow again literally earlier today and had just started Julius Mode on Hard for the first time. Talk about perfect timing
Hard mode makes the fight a little easier, just use Death's Scythe. Perfect weapon against Belmonts.
@@Sugondeeze_Nuts Uh, in Julius Mode you play as Julius (and side note, his theme replaces the one in the first area)... But yeah, Death's Scythe is good against him on Soma mode if you have it
Julius was not even fighting seriously in this duel because he had doubts about Soma being evil despite being Lord Dracula's Reincarnation.
With a mere fraction of his power at 55 years old, he was capable of putting Soma and various players between the "sword and the wall" AND DESTROYING A PART OF THE CASTLE WITH HIS GRAND CROSS.
*Imagine what he could do if he was fighting to the bitter end or at his prime*
We don't need to imagine the results. Dracula isn't here anymore, is he?

As someone who requested this song in the final days of the Ballot, I had only asked for it since it seemed like a great Castlevania song to cover, and one that I remember greatly thanks to Castlevania coming to Smash.

What a delight! I wasn't a big fan of Harmony of despair's renditions, but they definitely proved that Julius theme + Metal equals pure Bliss.
Ikr? The version from HoD felt somewhat less impactful than the one on GBA somehow
I dont get it, this theme is from Aria of Sorrow, not from HoD. HoD had to sacrifice the sound card for graphics, having to use a GB card for it, that being the reason the game's soundtrack is so bad. However we are talking about Aria of Sorrow, where this theme is from, where they managed to fit in both soundtrack and graphics without having to sacrifice either, Aria's soundtrack is a fine piece of work.

@@fred4918 slight mistake on my end, I meant Harmony of despair, the multiplayer entry which only recompiled content from several entries, including the OST which was only rock renditions of classic themes. I've edited the comment to avoid more confusion.

In my opinion as a Castlevania expert, Aria of Sorrow is THE ONE game that has managed to be almost as good as Symphony of the Night, if not equally as good

The theme of the strongest Belmont, the only one to actually succeed at the clan’s lifelong goal: killing the evil Count Dracula for good, has been, rather ironically, resurrected like the evil lord himself...and we’re damn well pleased to see it.
Heart of Fire is a really underated track from the orginal game and I'm glad the people who made Aria of Sorrow agreed enough blend it with another song to make Julius's theme.
I still remember my first time fighting this guy. His attack pattern was hard to track and after a while he busts out his true powers and he became a Belmont worthy of legend. It's strange how everyone calls him a badass, but at the same time we never saw him outside of this game. Kinda wish we could see him more...
He was on both sorrow titles, as well as harmony of dissonance, in all instances playable. That's not too shabby for a supporting character.

The Vampire Saga (Slayer Theme), from Guilty Gear XX Korean would be really sick to see someday
0:00-0:36: No matter which version of Heart of Fire I listen to, this part of the song is always my favorite. It definitely gives off the vibes of a hero from another story (which is exactly what Julius is)

Remember: With each new Generation of Vampire Hunting Belmonts born, they are known to be stronger each time. Considering Julius is the Last Belmont until he eventually Weds and has a child, He is the Strongest Belmont in existence, along with being the only one to finish off Dracula for good (With a little help from some friends and Hakuba Shrine Mediums)

@@johnnycenate91 idk exactly which is the relation between House Belmont and the Morris Clan, but in 2037 Julius trained an unrelated hunter called Curtis Lang who's the protagonist of the jp novel Castlevania: Recollection of the Divine Abyss. (Which is canon, just like the SOTN radiodrama)
And yes, this hunter inherited the vampire killer too.
@@xBlaster That actually sounds interesting... Although, The Morris Clan had problems using the whip due to not being of Belmont Blood, or having anyone related to the Belmonts in any way. Perhaps in the novel, Curtis Lang may have some Belmont Blood in his veins if he can fully use the whip. That would be interesting to see in a future game, provided Konami doesn't decide to stick with their Rebooted / Lords Of Shadow Timeline they made.

Since the whip was used to seal Dracula's Castle in 1999, the desintegration of the later weakened it's power, and maybe because of this is that Curtis didn't use it's full power (which would consume his life energy for not being a direct Belmont descendant).
This song was and still is as metal as Castlevania gets!
