I've played the 3DS Oddyseys, but only beat Untold I & I (Story mode) and IV, but never got around to doing the bonus dungeons. The games are fun, but hoo boy the difficulty makes wanting to finish them a hurdle. Even then, I'm with you on the recommendation: The party customization, map making, FOES, and other mechanics make the games fun to play. Also, I have to ask: what were Rean and Crow's classes? From the footage, it looked like Rean was a Zodiac main or sub, but other than that, I couldn't tell...
The sea perseveres their fury, water clashing towards you in order to end your odyssey... but remember... that at the end of the raging waves... no matter how hard they try to stop you... the Magikarp Festival awaits... only awaiting your request... and for that... I will persevere through the raging waves until the end!
Etrian Odyssey is a really REALLY damn good yet underrated RPG series. Its so good but criminally obscure and I hate that! Bless Gametal for showing the world more Etrian. Now… I wonder if Gametal has time for another obscure but great RPG- Rune Factory!
Rune Factory imo doesn't have many themes that would benefit a lot from a metal remix, but the ones that would, oh boy... First ones I can think of easily are Fiersome's and Aquaticus's themes

This is absolutely stunning. Like, I was about to do some dishes and this popped up and I was like "who did this? who mixed this?" And came over to where my phone was charging and just stood there with my arms crossed, absolutely gobsmacked-stunned.
Amazing cover! 1:28 and 3:19 are some of my favorite parts of the song, but the whole thing is awesome! Love Etrian Odyssey, and this game holds a special place in my heart, being the third EO game I played after 1 Untold and IV. Hearing this song for the first time fighting that giant bird at the lighthouse was a moment I'll never forget. Hearing this song brings back a lot of great memories with this game, and I hope I can make many more when I go back to do the rest of the content the game has to offer via the postgame. I didn't know there were THAT many boss fights at sea. The gameplay being thrown in during the song reminded me of all of the fun I had with this game and I wish I could play it for the first time again. Thanks for this cover, truly inspirational. I am so happy and thankful that you covered the original version of this amazing tune. While I love all the other official remixes this tune has gotten in the next games after EO3, they feel as if they are lacking something that the original one has. I cannot say what it is, but I am sure it has to do with how this one has a more "cheerful" tone compared to the "serious" tone that subsequent remixes had. Also, now I want to hear an acoustic version of Cherry Tree Bridge. That little remix at the end was so pretty.

The battle themes in EO are some of Yuzo Koshiro's best work and have an energy that most remixes don't do justice. I think this remix did a great job of making it it's own thing, like that bit at 3:19. The original composition is so driving and forceful, so stuff like that were great additions.

Spotify lists this song as "Crest of a Violent Wave", as does the EO3 sound test... but EO4 lists it as "Through the Scorching Heat", EO5 as "Hidden Threats" (which for the record, is the exact same name they used for Scatter About in the two Untold games), and EON titles it "Hidden Boss Theme 3". So everyone kinda rightly ignores whatever the English localization calls it this week.

Sadly it looks like it won't be happening anytime soon, though this remix certainly helps with the pain of that fact.
