    Thanks friend, im from Venezuela, in spanish language there aren't info/tutorials about this kind of analysis software, i'm very grateful, also, your form of speaking slow is pro for each one that don't are english as their tongue.
    im hope you continue with these tutorials.

    Hello Sir,
    The presentation is very good and useful. I need to know the following details.
    1.For applying pretension, only half portion of the bolt is selected. Why it is so ?
    2.While applying pretension, threaded portion of the bolt can be considered ?

    • @ANSYS-India
      @ANSYS-India  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hari, ANS-01: only one half of the cylindrical surface is enough in ansys to recognise the axis of the bolt.
      ANS-02: Threaded portion has to be considered only if you are interested in stress at threads.

    When importing the geometry, how do you get the axis, curves (sketches?) and other model features to import into ansys as well. when I make a model with a bracket, nut and bolt then import into ansys I only have 3 bodies and 3 parts vs the 11 in your video. thanks

    hi sir, thankful for sharing your knowledge. i have very complicated model with more number of parts in geometry, i need to group them separately and give connections to them im very much confused to give connections to very compacted model. plz help me by suggesting how to connect each and every part with eachother. thank you for your time.

    Hi GRS, can you suggest me on this one. I want to validate an FE model of Bolted joint . Model is as simple as we can examine. Two plates connected with a bolt. Bolt is placed as if top plate has an extended length over bottom plate for abut 4mm and same is to bottom plate but extension is in opp side. if i fix my bottom plate extended side, give a displacement on top plate along length and bolt is pre-tensed, then how can i validate my results ?!!!.....what formulas can i use for bolt subjected to pre-tightening and displacement that creates shear combined in assembly?!!!!

    You only grabbed 1 surface of the bolt not sure that is right. you should grab the whole body and assign it a local axis. to ensure the entire cross sectional area is being tensioned evenly

    Is tangent modulus always 10% of Young’s modulus for all the material ?

    • @MetrologyEngineer
      @MetrologyEngineer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't watch the video all the way through, but at what point does he mention this and what do you mean by "tangent modulus"? Are you by chance referring to the 0.2% offset? That's the only thing I can think of off hand that I could see tangency remotely related to.
      Let me know a time stamp in the format of mm:ss and I'd be glad to help clarify I possible,

    Just a quick question. Is it necessary to do the face split part for the analysis?

    • @ANSYS-India
      @ANSYS-India  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greetings! ! Ya face splitting will ensure that contact elements in the local regions only. Presence of contact elements apart from the contact regions will increase the computation time.

    • @bezaldo7
      @bezaldo7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      GRS CAD/CAE Thanks! Also how is material nonlinearity considered in ansys? Let's say we would like to consider both material and contact nonlinearity. For the bolt pretensions, is there a way to assign a range of valuesin ansys let's say from 1 kN to 5 kN?

    • @ANSYS-India
      @ANSYS-India  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Answer-01: th-cam.com/video/svE0ZW6QrrY/w-d-xo.html this is the link for the material, contact and geometry non linearity.
      Answer-02: Apply the full bolt pretension force, in analysis settings give time steps as follows, initial=50, minimum=25, maximum=100. Solve the problem. Once the solution is complete you can retrieve the results at 1N, 2N, 3N... from the tabular data.

    • @bezaldo7
      @bezaldo7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      GRS CAD/CAE Thanks very much for your advice. I did this and I got good results. Just curious if I wanted to apply an external load, do we define 2 load steps or I can do it in one load step if bolt pretension is present (in terms of validity of analysis)?

    • @ANSYS-India
      @ANSYS-India  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes to avoid unnecessary contact regions, this helps in reduction in computational time.
