    Hi... GRS CAD/CAE :)
    Thank You very much for step_by_step cut clear explanation.
    I have a follow Up Q :)
    you mentioned in your amazing video that while assigning contact properties, one has to model Stiff bodies as Target bodies and Less_Stiffer bodies as Contact Bodies.
    Q1) Is it a rule of thumb ?
    Q2) Why is this so ?
    It would be nice if you could enhance your tutorial videos by adding in few more words regarding why do we have to select particular options in a particular field...
    for example,
    Formulation = Augmanted lagrange, whats thew reason for choosing this and what happens if we choose something else ?
    Detuction Meathod, What is it ?
    for a student and for beginners all these information will help a lot while self studying/training :)
    Looking forward for more toturials from you :)
    Good Job. Thanks a lot again ;)

    Good job sir. I have a question here. There is an unrealistic stress concentration on that vertex because of that extra constraint on that. Do you think it is necessary to put that constraint on the vertex? in reality we shouldn't have any stress concentration on that corner though!

  • @juandavidarguello8702

    Hello, there is something that I don't understand about your tutorial and I will be very greatful for your response: why do you change the pre-established units of the material data? Despite of the fact that I don't have the programming level of Ansys programmers, I understand a little bit about general programming language and in the softwares that I had developed in my carreer's courses I always took into account the fact of giving the user the possibility to introduce data in the units of their choice. The thing is, that in my programs, I always converted the data given by the user in the units of my personal choice, so it didn't matter if you liked to use the english measurement system or the metric one. Off course, my programs doesn't have the complex level of Ansys, but I think it is very possible that Ansys programmers should had taken it into consideration. Thank you for reading my comment and for your response. Have a nice day.

    Hi,
    Very helpful video. I have a question regarding steady state heat transfer in ANSYS.
    If i have a plate with rectangular fins and my aim is to find the film coefficient of convection h in order to keep the plate at a fixed temperature, how can i do that on ANSYS? Because if i want to apply the boundary condition for convection, i cannot do it without h, which is what i want to find. Thanks!

    Thanks a lot for this important tutorial...... My question is that...is it possible to know the maximum stress of fatigue analysis at a given number of cycles in ANSYS WB? as it is known we input the alternating stress vs the number of cycles in engineering data from experimental result and we can get the fatigue life of the material that can survive before failure, but how can i know a stress at a specific number of cycles...

      before learning ansys learn the design softwares like catia , solid works etc to design the components .After learning them bring the design components to ansys to analyze the stresses induced in design components.

      any design software is good to go ,if not u can also design thing in ansys classic but the thing is the interface is not user friendly.If u r an engineer u better use any designing software to design things **even pro e is good to go ** and then take the design to ansys to see the stress induced in the component.

    • @ANSYS-India
      @ANSYS-India  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Reetik Tripathy Fix support will constrain the geometry from translation & rotation. Displacement constrain will give the freedom of allowing or restricting translation only. Remote displacement constrain will give freedom of allowing or restricting translation & rotation both.

    Hi! I have a question. When you get the solution, there is a message that appears at the botton, it says "one or more bodies may be underconstrained and experiencing rigid body motion" What does that mean?? I´ve been trying to make a model with frictional contact, and always get that warning. I would really appreciate if you answer me.... Thanks. (Sorry for my english hehehe)

    • @ANSYS-India
      @ANSYS-India  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greetings! !
      Mariana I got you, this warning message is due to the insufficient constraints. The model will try to constrain in its position by weak springs if enough constraints are not specified. If you can sketch your problem description and send to engineeringtutorsdesk@gmail.com then I would be able to suggest the relevant boundary conditions to fix this warning message. Cheers....

    I am trying to simulate something like this in ANSYS APDL
    my approach is to heat one part (load step 1) and then allow it to cool down with the contact/target option (load step 2) .
