2 years ago when I was on BRAG (bicycle ride across GA) we had a stop in Cave Springs...interesting place! Probably too cold for you to swim in the pool when you were there unfortunately.
Nice to see you back on the trail. I didn't know when I last spoke to you that you were going through health issues and surgeries. You appear to be healthy again. Being back on the trail again seems to make you happy and healthy again. Happy trails, and stay safe out there. I did subscribe to your site.
Thanks for the sub Ron. I had stents put in my Right Coronary Artery from a heart attack in August, 2021, a stent put in my Aorta to relieve an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in August, 2022. This year…so far so good. 😁
Lovely video again Rev, such a relaxing watch. As an Englishman, here we don't have any bears or big cats so our hikes are safe but I did do a little hiking in California and Oregon a while ago. I still remember how I whistled quite a few tunes along those hikes to let my presence be known!
Thank you for sharing the miles and smiles with us. Great views. I'm sure you got mud on your tires, lol, getting through that washed out area. Be safe out there. Happy trails.
Oh, that armadillo! ❤🥰🤗 Ive never seen one up close and personal, but I'd like to someday. That one seemed to like you. Or was asking you to remove the flies. One or t'other 😉
That view was well worth the climb! Anytime you can look out and see God's creation is a good day! Loved the saying "Don't become somebodies Breakfast." Good Call!!!
Wow! That armadillo got up close and personal. And in the daylight as well. Amazing! I thought they were nocturnal 🤔. Beautiful section of the Pinhoti. Happy trekking 🥾.
Started a comment then somehow managed to lose it. Anyway, want to thank you for sharing this beautiful trail and fantastic views. Loved the armadillo. Take care, Rev and stay safe. See you next week.
I love, ‘To enjoy the views, you gotta pay the dues’. You have a lot of issum’s while out there! Welcome to Georgia! Psst…I’m not such a dawg fan myself! Hee hee!
I’m not sure if that’s original with me. But I’ll take it. I’ve been an Alabama Crimson Tide football fan my entire life. I love the rivalries of the SEC. 🐘 😁👍❤️
I’ve been following you and watching you for years but I don’t think I’ve ever commented. I loved the Roll Tide! It’s been a pleasure watching you hike through my beautiful home state. Thank you for your videos and for letting me follow along the journey.
Thanks Jason. I’ve been an Alabama Crimson Tide football fan my entire life. You gotta love the SEC rivalries in the South. I miss that living on the West Coast.😁👍❤️
Thank you for sharing the trail time, Hiking Rev. Watching you on the Pinhoti Trail journey from Alabama, to now Georgia, enjoyed the pieces you have shown. Making noise on trial early to inform the critters reminded me of singing a “Hay bear” I’m coming song on one night hike SOBO on the PCT. A hoot owl answered over my head and gave me spring in my steps for a few miles.
Thanks. I love the Plex Solo. Though I’m real interested in the Durston X-Mid Pro 1. The Plex Solo’s “Rainbow Door” is attached at the bottom so when you unzip it it falls down. Just make sure it falls inside your tent instead of outside. Duh! 👍😁❤️
@@TheHikingRev Rev, another great video. I’ve got the X-Mid 2p solid, awesome tent, very happy with it. Quality is outstanding. The 4 stakes and it’s up isn’t hype, I do throw a shepherd hook on the vestibule to keep it from flapping in the wind when the fly is open. I’m a solo guy but I like my pack in the tent with me, hence, the 2p.
Thanks for the videos, I'm really enjoying them! I'm wondering if it'd be fairly easy to slackpack or day hike most of the Pinhoti? Seems to be a network of accessible places to stay the night and people to shuttle you? It would cost more money of course 😂
That’s exactly right Kim. It would be easy to slack pack. In fact, I know a lot of people who have done it. A trail town or access to a trail town is probably available every 2 to 3 days.😁👍❤️
Good to see you enjoying the lovely country that trail takes you through. Nothing quite like being on trail! Looking forward to next weekend full of hiking and eating, friends and copious laughter. Happy Lord's Day to ya!
Love this section- great footage and editing. Super cute armadillo ❤. I would hate sharing the trail with ATV’s 😢 or walking on the roads. Nice lodging at the end. I love seeing other hikers as well. Bears are very active here right now (lots of sightings). Didn’t know Alabama/ Georgia has cougars?

Hey Greg. Yeah. Don’t think I want to take a dip in the springs. 😁
I know last weekend they started painting blue on the GA side. The more I watch this trail the more I want to get out there.
Take care, Rev.
It’s a great trail. You’ll enjoy it. 😁
Thank you!!
👍🏻

That’s a great idea Devon. You don’t want to be “someone’s breakfast.” 😂
Very cool to have the flags there on the trail.
Yes. It was very inspirational. 😁
I like your videos
Thanks
Thanks Matches. 😁👍❤️

Yeah, I couldn’t believe he came that close to me. 😁👍❤️
Oh how neat to have the armadillo come up so close
Hey Phyllis. I think he wanted me to take those flies off his back, but I told him I don’t speak armadillo.😂
@@TheHikingRev 😂😂😂😂
Georgia is pretty too! Just hate the humidity!! Lol be safe!!
Yep. The humidity is not one of my favorite things in the South. 🥵
Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Your doing great!
Thanks Randy. Great advice. 👍❤️😁

Yep. You don’t want to become somebody’s breakfast.😂
Thank you Rev. I now have a new goal. Go to Cave Springs, Georgia for the Bacon Fest. 😅
😂😂😂Yeah, I hate I missed it!😁
From Alabama here. Enjoying traveling with you!
Thanks Josh. I’m so glad you could come along with me. 😁

He may have been asking me to take the flies off his back. But I don’t speak armadillo. 😂
@@TheHikingRev 😂 Neither do I. I imagine the ATVs were a bit of a drag. Nothing like loud toys drowning out the wind in the pines. 🙄

good to see ya rev have a good one be blessed
Thanks Robert.😁👍❤️
Waiting on episode 6 to come out.
Your wait is almost over. 😁
@@TheHikingRev when you get to the end at Dyer Gap you should just keep on the Benton MacKaye Trail and keep us posted.
@@lawrencejump7391 Maybe next time. My wife would hunt me down and shoot me on the spot. 😂

Great as always. How is the Plex Solo working out? I read complaints about the U shaped door allowing dirt or water to enter the tent.

What in “Blue Blazes”
😂😂😂
How are you finding the HMG pack? Do you miss not having load lifters? What is the average amount of weight you are carrying between resupplies?
Hey Dave. I’m going to do a gear review at the end of my journey. And specifically my backpack.😁👍❤️
@@TheHikingRev Excellent! Thanks Rev!
Tell me you watered at the spring. Just went today to load up.
Hey Doc! Yes. The water was fantastic. 😁
have u done all triple crown trails?
No. Just a Pacific Crest Trail.
Was that a really small armadillo or some really large green flies? 😂
😂😂😂 I think he was asking me to take the green flies off of him, but I told him I didn’t speak Armadilla.
Roll Tide!!!
Roll Tide! 🐘😁
