This is our mid-season finale! That means we're half way done with Season One and will be taking a break for July, catch episode 6 when we get back to our monthly upload schedule on August 30th!
notice how nothing's mother's "love" for her is what she could have been and how she would have been her "proudest accomplishment". that is not the love of a mother. a parent's love should never be conditional, and it should never be expressed in the way powerstrike does. shes very much a production of the worst aspects of her culture, and thats an incredibly realistic and complex thing to write!
Sadly though, a lot of children have parents who ‘love’ them for what they could be/could have been. There’s a lot of people who are ‘disappointments’ because they couldn’t or didn’t achieve the goals their parents planned. It makes Nothing a good character to connect with. I share a lot with Nothing where my disabilities made me unable to do what was expected of me and what I wanted to do most with my life, so I changed my own goals and centered them for me. I’ll still take care of my elderly mother and put up with her. I will not allow her to hurt me anymore though. I’m no longer focused on what parts of me are broken and useless, I don’t dwell on what I can’t do, I stick to getting better at the things I can. Nothing hasn’t fully reached her potential in that regard yet, but I’m rooting for her! Mostly because I feel a strong sense of kinship.
It really hurts when you can hear the desperation in Nothing's voice when she's asking Feather to come with her- I feel like she wanted to save him so badly because she couldn't save Sparks before, so maybe this is her way of saving 'if I couldn't save you before, I'll save him now that I can'
I almost cried too but I really do feel bad for nothing he has no name everyone thinks she's a curse and no she had to go find her brother what is this I need to go watch aphmau right now be right now I'm crying 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Colossal Fossils I’m sure she wanted to save them, but there is nothing she can do. Pride law dictates that they be killed. She is incapable of fighting to protect them and her pride mates wouldn’t assist her. The best she can do is take Feather far away from harm.
Love how real the characters feel, when that no mane killed the leader and threatened to kill nothing and asked her where the Cubs were I got so angry, but then.........he looked back and said with sarrow that it was what he had to do. And that made me feel angry, sad, pity and all kinds of emotion. This lion is such a well written character that I can be angry with what he is doing but also understand why he's doing it, and why he thinks he has to do it. Really a sad fate for such a character.
i love how it makes the lions feel more real i mean that is basically what they do in the wild. they are sent off by their mothers to live alone and they will take over a pride by killing the male and all of the cubs so the only cubs that will be left are the ones he will make with the lionesses.
ALL OF THESE FEELS ARE NOT OKAY The characters are so complex and react like how actual complex people would react, and not just hate because of something like a leg, or forgive at a simple sorry. I'm wholly obsessed with this series!!!
The facial expressions of Nothing's half-sisters when Powerstrike said "You could have been my proudest achievement." I wonder if that plays into why they're so mean to Nothing.
I like the protagonist a lot. She's actually flawed in a way that makes her interesting (and not in a "everyone hates her bc she has bad foot but it not her fault" way). She has actual personality flaws and it actually effects how people feel about her which is great. This *was* her fault, but it wasn't in a way that makes us hate her. Nothing is a good protagonist.
Hmm, I'm not sure. While I love Nothing and Hover, Hover's reaction seemed a bit much to me. "You missed my ceremony so I will not help save your brother's life." rubs me the wrong way. Those are not two equivalent things. Plus the fact that Hover refused to defend Nothing from both her sisters and from her mother. Albeit, Powerstrike is the hunt chief, but still.
@@fabplays6559 hover gave up prideless life and joined a literal cult for nothing. and nothing unintentionally chose fire over her. besides she already knew none of them could hurt her so :/
No she's really annoying in an unlikable way, she makes dumb decision and expects everyone to be okay with it. There's a reason people are mad at her and she can't seem to realize it
@@Wayegames-dt6kq they don't behave like real lions though. They have a cult that goes to explain certain behaviors that real lions do, but they themselves don't behave like real lions. Because of course that wouldn't be an interesting story. But like... If you think being a lion means powerstrike shouldn't be an empathetic mother then her lamenting her daughters injuries equally doesn't make sense. Nothing likely wouldn't be alive and there wouldn't be an screaming match at a watering hole. Even when male lions leave cubs alive they don't behave like this for obvious reasons. These are lion characters that reason and interact with human sentience. Because that's the story. Like even the droughts are being caused by a story element instead of real events. Also.... your response doesn't actually make sense even if i do grant your reasoning. Lions tend to be very affectionate with their cubs. If powerstrike is supposed to behave like a lioness she'd be a lot more protective and scared for her cub. Not a bully.
if you read the original story there's a little bit more that goes on. But even if you don't you can only imagine how she must have been living as a prideless lion. Having to chase off small bands of hyenas from their prey in order to get a few bites and then having to run away. Getting attacked by every Lion she meets and living a life of isolation. She must have finally talked herself into going ahead and joining this CULT at least for Nothing. She literally gave up her identity. And Nothing couldn't even be there for her, when she is being surrounded and judged by strangers. b Throw in the love aspect and then Because Nothing had to go run off for a male. She was upset and in order for her to stay in the pride there is nothing she could have done to get between Quick Main and Fire. She could already see that Quick Mane could not hurt Nothing. She had already been dragged into this cult culture and giving up her identity she didn't want to get any more involved in drama. Of course she's upset. Nothing would be fine and would come back from her perspective.
When nothing said “then say you killed me, it won’t matter to them any way.” The emotion in that really struck me, and made me feel. Nothing truly believes that every single lion in that pride would be indifferent as to whether or not she was dead. I kinda wanna see the Pride’s reaction to this just to see how many truly care about her deep down.
Nothing’s half-sister would most likely feel relived (or atleast one of them would) Hover would probably feel super guilty Powerstrike would probably feel guilty but also not really And Waterhunter would maybe be indifferent about it (im not sure since Waterhunter is a very secret character in the series)
To be honest Nothing kinda reminds me of me of course my step father would have been....uuuuhhhhhhhhhhh.....I don't remember his name cos I don't really pay attention to the so called "Bad guys"...........anywho, Nothings pride just reminds me of my family, so its like really emotional and it just lets me know that other people can be the same way. This is so relatable.
I can't believe Powerstrike just stood there while Quckmane was insulting her daughter *right in front of her!* I can't believe her right now! I don't know what to feel for her right now but what I do know is that she shouldn't act like that to her daughter.
Well i know one thing, those lionesses should be ashamed of themselves, especially Nothing's mother and Hover, i mean Nothing makes literally one little mistake and then they just abandon her, and practically banish her from the pride...i mean being shunned by those other lionesses is one, but being abandoned by her own mother and her best friend is where i draw the line.
@@TheCommenterDragon but, i mean, nothing left two cubs defenseless when she should have been watching them, and put another one into even more danger by bringing him outside their home.
I’m really hoping Hover will refuse to believe Nothing’s dead and go after her. It is unlikely, but the look of regret Hover gave Nothing tells me she still cares, after all she joined the pride for her! Joined something she’d always disliked the idea of, for her. Nothing’s made some mistakes, some mistakes that resulted in massive consequences, that doesn’t mean she’s unforgivable. Go after your girl, Hover! I’m begging you! Tribble thanks so much for the hard work, this series is absolutely brilliant!
I hope that too, very much. I loved the hint of guilt on Hover's face after she rejecting Nothing's pleas and turning her back to Nothing only to look at her over her shoulder a moment later and seeing her running away. I really hope that Hover follows her heart and leaves the Pride to find Nothing.
The fact she accepted the pride name and didn't just run off tells me she still wants to be part of Nothing's life. She's just very upset with her and needs time to let it sink it how much sorry isn't going to fix what Nothing did.
Feather is definitely one of my favorite characters! I love how he isn’t like his sisters and actually admires Nothing! He’s blind to her injury and even thinks she’s incredible for putting up a fight with his father as a cub. I love him he must be protected!!!
Yeah. One most important thing of part of this video is one character (after Hover abandoned Nothing) Proudmane had showed his empathy toward Nothing by killing her awful stepfather Quickmane. He now HAS to be my favorite character!
@@RedPandaGirl002 Proudmane didn't kill Quickmane for Nothing, he did it for himself. Proudmane obviously shows regret for his actions by acknowledging it is what a Mane needs to do to survive and looking quite guilty saying it, but Proudmane puts himself first before any other lion. That is why he was so willing to kill both Quickmane and Nothing before finding out about the "curse".
I hate how Powerstrike is saying stuff like “You could’ve been my proudest achievement.” She’s mad at her because she messed up....how? All Nothing did was fight for her life against a full grown lion who killed her dad and brother. She didn’t just lie there and accept death. She *wanted* to live and proved her worth. Now her mother is mad at her because of this?
I think it’s more she’s mad because she sees her own mistake. In the sense that she wasn’t there. She wasn’t there to protect her and therefor a strong and better led future was left crippled. She’s (wrongfully) projecting her own self hate over the situation onto Nothing. She loves her- but all she sees is the life and future they used to have and is embittered by it. I don’t condone it. I want to slap her- but I get it.
And she didn’t show respect that her daughter was trying to make it through life, despite the ableistic insults with a permanently wounded eye and leg.
@@RogueT-Rex8468 i think personally, she's trying to detach herself from Nothing. as a way of absolving herself of guilt, she acts as if Nothing is not her child. it makes sense, and i dont blame her; in a world as horrific as the "pride law" system of My Pride, I'd probably rationalize my own disabled child like that too. the agony of knowing the lion Powerstrike /literally/ had cubs with is also the lion who /maimed/ her daughter and left her worthless would make me beyond numb.
The fact that Powerstrike has the audacity to tell her daughter "I do love you" and then proceeds to tell her why she won't even look at her because she sees her as a failure is disgusting on her end. I love the choice of writing here and I have nothing against the writers. I actually love the way Powerstrike is. It paints her in such a rotten, disgusting way and it truly shows how cruel real people can be. But on the other spectrum abusive people do still love people.. just not in the right way. I feel like Powerstrike is created so realistically in this manner. The subtleties of it all is still powerful. Abusive people don't have to hit people in order to hurt them.. and maybe Powerstrike really isn't trying to hurt Nothing.
I know, some people dislike abusive characters, but I adore them. There’s always the classic villain that’s like “hAhA mUrDeR fUn!” With literally nothing interesting about them. It’s refreshing to see a villain with actual malicious plans that have nothing to do with murder.
she was like "YOU COULDVE BEEN MY PROUDEST ACHIVEMENT IF YOU DIDNT FIGHT OUR LEAADER WHEN U WERE A CUB. YOU SHOULDVE DIED INSTEAD BLAH BLAH BLAH" its like what fire said, hurt is better than dead.
Look I agree about everything but I hate bc she can't hate her own cubs sorry but if I was nothing I would scream at her :"you know what better not to be your daughter bc in fact YOU EMBARRASS ME bc you don't love me so bye!!!"
I like how no one's really a bad guy in this. Like, they're all flawed for sure, but they're all just real people....lions...who are victims of their own social structure. Extremely well written.
No animals are villains The thing is that Animals just usually Fight in the Wild so there’s really no reason for them to be villains unless they do bad things to others then fighting
He does care about Nothing even if he's little and most kids don't worry too much because sometimes things are overlooked he's a sweetheart in these cases
@@Ava26thewhitetiger If we follow pride lore and actual lion lifestyle, unless their mother spirits the two away before the new lion finds them they are more than likely to be killed. Lions don't really care about the cubs genders, they are nothing more than an obstacle between them and their domination over the pride. Sure a pride of lionesses can drive away a lion they don't see fit, but that won't solve the problem that the lions provide: Protection of the pride territories from rival lions and a guardian for the cubs while they go hunting. A lone lioness will have a harder time protecting a litter of cubs than a lone male simply due to their biology (males are larger and often stronger) so without a male or multiple males (yes more than one lion can rule a pride, usually brothers) is at a disadvantage to those that have one or more. Now back to the cubs- unfortunately feather's sisters are more than likely cannon fodder for the story. At least we don't have to see them die like Nothing's brother.
Powerstrike: *Names child Nothing just to be cruel *Constantly belittles her in front of others *Doesn't allow child to comfort her *Doesn't try to stop when child is being beaten in front of her *Refuses to look at child because she's weak due to an injury she got while defending herself and her brother *Doesn't care if other child dies either Mother of the year right here
These are lions though. Weakness is not tolerated in the wild under any circumstance and to be fair, Powerstrike did give her a name and gave her multiple chances to back down.
*claps* Nice job, Powerstrike. In all seriousness I think she will get better by the end of the story, because Powerstrike isn’t really a villain, just mean.
I agree with Teacoon, Powerstrike grew up in this environment and so did her parents and their parents. It’s hard to ignore what is held in most everybody else’s hearts and your family’s, save for a few outliers. This feeling of loyalty was also probably passed down from her family. No matter how WE look at it, cruelty has a different definition in their world. You can tell she wants to do what is right, but doesn’t know if it’s with her children or “societal” regulations.
Power Strike: when i look at you, all i can see is what you could have been. Moving on from the fact that Power Strike is a bad mother for not being able to love her daughter despite her injured state, do we want to stop and ask ourselves who is to blame for the injury of Nothing? Quickmane! Which is the same lion that Power Strike defends and is loyal to. I won't empathize with you Power Strike, not this time. Just make peace with yourself.
@@Randomstuff00293 really? She even decided not to help her own son and blamed it on Fire for talking to Nothing. It just shows that she needs to stop venting her own anger at her children.
She is the Alpha Female of the Pack, She HAS no other choice than to take decisions that will hurt not only others, but herself, in order to protect the pack. She cannot betray the Alpha Male (QuickMane) to save her son Fire. In this world, if she woudlve chased off QuickMane, another male Lion wouldve had to take the Pride, killing Feather and the other cubs (oh and probably banishing Nothing too, as they would not care about the feelings, but how much She Is important in a pack. She can only watch cubs, wich would be gone for a period, being killed, and she would also eat what other lionesses hunt.) So yeah, analyzing the characters a little Better you can clearly see It was necessary.
actually this aninations are pretty good with adopting the real nature of lions: new males kill young cubs, until they live their mother protect them but than they became to loyal to the new male..
spoilers i like how flawed the protagonist is. we're repeatedly shown how self centerd she can be while trying to be happy. she cares about hover, but wants her to abandon her life. she loves fire, and because of that risks the cubs and misses the ceromony.
Reminds me of this quote: "I will tell you this: no matter where you flee... [growls in pain as black blood pours from his wounds] WE WILL FIND YOU!.... just as surely as we will find Earth. And when we do,... [hisse's, while smirking] we will FEAST!!!" ―'Bob', a captured Wraith Commander before being shot repeatedly to death by Major John Sheppard (from Stargate: Atlantis" Season 1 Episode 19 "The Siege, Part 1")
Nothing: Hover wait! Long Run: That’s not my name anymore... Me: Noooo please nooo The Ad interrupting this heartbreaking moment: *OH OH OH O’REILYYYYYYYYY AUTO PARTS **_O W!_*
tbh, i kinda knew where this is going with Hover joining Nothing's pride. this is what happens when you make huge sacrifices for your partner - it's a big no-no in relationships. basically, Hover sacrificed herself, her way of living, her freedom, for a lioness who doesn't even know what she wants. Nothing just wanted Hover around because her pride was mean to her and she wanted to have some kind of emotional support, but she didn't think about Hover's feelings. guys, NEVER ask your partner to change themselves for you. you either accept them as they are either break up with them. because it always ends up with "i did so much for you, and this is how you pay me?"
When i was looking at that part, I said that he's a traitor, but when je told that, i changed my opinion uwu. Sorry for bad grammar, I'm not from England
@Woah Nelly no shes not mad at anyone shes just saying that she felt bad for long run (hover) because the last thing her and nothing had done was fight.. hope this helped
The reason Powerstrike is the way she is towards Nothing is that she feels like a failure of a mother because of how her daughter turned out and she feels guilt whenever she looks at her and sees what she could have been, if not for her.
Doesn't powerstrike have other cups beside nothing? They became great huntresses and seriously I think her explanation is weak. Quickmane would have killed her cups one way or another wouldn't he? There had been nothing powerstrike could have done would there?!
it's horrid that powerstrike only sees nothing as a piece of her own legacy. she says it herself, "you could've been _my_ proudest achievement." she doesn't care about nothing beyond her abilities. she _is_ selfish and she _is_ a terrible mother, but damn if she isn't a really cool and interesting character
She feels guilt for not following Pride law and letting the lion kill her daughter that is now dead weight to the pride and that she still cares for. She is seeing how the goddess is punished a mother for trying to get involved between a Mane takeover. She must see nothing and the protective curse the gods put on her as a curse to the pride dead weight and just to shove in her face everyday why you must follow Pride law. She burned her entire Pride her own mother even went out of her way to stand up for her and her Cubs. At least that's must be how she justifies it
But being reasonable here, he was going to kill her until she talked about the curse in which he let her go, kicking her out of the pride, I'm not saying it was personal but I think she has a reason to be mad enough to say it was personal to Fire.
3:45 A mothers love is never weakness it’s a sign of compassion and trust and loyalty I wish that she could’ve been a way better mother than I thought she could be
You're right. I was confused first why this happened at all cause it really hadn't to do anything with the story. But if you see it that way, it really makes sense.
I agree we never got to see the entirety of a Pride Huntress Assessment I mean why was Hover named Longrun, does she have great endurance or something? Also hypothetically speaking if our girl Nothing was to join another pride could she retake the Huntress Assessment since Powerstrike didn’t allow her to continue?
Just passing by to say that I absolutely love Feather's complete trust in Nothing. She says that they both have to leave, he keeps silent and then just ask if they're ever coming back. That's all. It's incredibly beautiful.
Just can’t wait. The story and character arcs are very well thought out. I can say that tribbleofdoom loves this story and works very hard to put out stuff for us. After this cannot wait for August 30th!!!
Powerstrike: 'She is MY cub, and you will NOT refure to her as it' Also Powerstrike: Names her child nothing. Still Powerstrike: 'I love you so much it hurts!' I love this series! Keep up the good work! ❤
I thought my pride would look like a cliche wolf pack series with terrible animation and bad storylines, but when I clicked on it I was blown away! The animation was so professional and the voice acting was amazing! Not to mention the music made the scenes come to life! I'm so glad I clicked on it cause if I didn't I'd be missing out.
oh! I have a recommendation for you then, Wolf Pride it's about wolves and it has great animation, cool storylines and good voice acting it's actually kind of similar to this
Gotta say that I'm loving Feather's voice acting. The rowdy and rambunctious voice was great in the beginning, but the voice cracking and near-sobs he makes in the latter part of this episode really sell it. You definitely believe he's a scared little cub. I'm also quite pleased with the changes to the story compared to the trailer. The circumstances all make a LOT more sense now; Nothing just settling for being alive, Proudmane assuring that this isn't personal, having an actual explanation as to why Feather is with her, etc. It's great stuff. I wonder how Hover is going to feel after all this... She was rightfully angry, but god damn the next thing she knows Nothing is dead.
I go on runs every morning and the thing that gets me the motivation to run home is “THESE ARE HOW MANY DAYS UNTIL THE NEXT EPISODE OF MY PRIDE, YOU CAN DO IT!”
First of all l: life is so unfair to Nothing. Second: Feather is the second cutest lion after Simba! Third: I don't like Nothing's mother (I think nobody does).
But for Quickmane, I HATED him so much!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡 He was so hateful, cold, bitter, and irrational. And I'm glad he got killed! Quickmane really deserved to die!!!
Kristina Brumbaugh, He is the same as the no-mane that killed him; he was doing what he was supposed to do. The only reason he seems so horrible to us viewers is that we see him through Nothing's eyes. He is behaving that way towards Nothing because he believes she's a curse, and so he acts out of fear.
3:20 : I love when Powerstrike says "You could have been my proudest achievment" and Farleap and Silentstalk look at each other. Because I think they were rude to Nothing because despite being huntresses, their mother still loved Nothing more than them
@@tribbleofdoom thank you for responding. I love your work ! Every months I wait for the next episode !! You write it so well and the animation is better than ever. You made lions look so deep and the voice cast is amazing. I'm sure you'll receive an award for the serie. Now I guess I'll watch them over and over un il August 30th. I live in France by the way and some of my friend are watching it too ! I guess you're American by the accent. Also the music and rain effect is fantastic ! This episode explains everything and is a good way to mark the half of the season. I think the rain represents Kansu's will for Nothing to travel and find her place. I mean they are so many details to spot it would take hours so voilà. 😉
I would love to see a deleted scene/ extra scene of Hover’s ceremony . That would be so interesting to see hover complete it , get a new name but realize the one lion she wanted there was not
Proud is not actually the bad guy. I know he wanted to kill Nothing, because he saw her as useless, but also because it would be mercy for her - he knew she wouldn't survive alone.
If you think about it, that's what no manes have to do. If they ever want a pride of their own they have to kill a mane. And while he was using Nothing and Feather at the beginning, he was never the bad guy. He was just doing what pride lore dictates him to do
Now I wonder if the reason why Farleap and Silentstalk are the way they are because Powerstrike told them to not get attached to their sister, so they wouldn't be weak, it might make sence
Nothing is such a good character! Sure, she has some faults (like her being too naive), but overall the rest of the Pride truly failed her, more than nothing could ever fail them. Nothing was only doing what she could do. Maybe she can be her own pride leader someday.
Confetti x actually, Lion researchers actually think now that it’s female lions that actually lead the pride. (They just don’t all throw their weight around as much as the male lions do for food). A male lion only stays around on average for 2 years, that simply isn’t long enough for stability among a pride. Prides are centered on females and cubs. Females all rally together and oust males who are pushing their weight too much, too sick, or too old to help protect the pride from other nomadic males. Despite this, with fictional world lore, it’s completely possible for Nothing to start a new type of pride in the show, but you are more than free to have your own opinion on how this will all end!
I can't believe Hover was willing to let Nothing risk getting herself killed. It is not like Nothing forced Hover to join the pride,Hover did it willingly
Quickmane is literally the reason Nothing is disabled, yet everyone acts like it’s HER FAULT. And the suspense of poor Feather not knowing his dad is gone... Edit: I almost forgot to tell you how much I love this series and how well done it is!!
Yeaah they probably think it's her fault because she basically broke the rules. No other cub would have fought back and bested a no-mane. This is a completely unique situation to them, and they had no idea how to handle it. Quickmane did something that was expected of him: tried to kill a cub. Nothing did something that was completely unexpected and not her role: fight back. So that's probably the reason why they treat her like its her fault. Sad, but could be the case.
@@honeybee4380 In an odd way, I feel sad that Quickmane died. Seeing the way he genuinely feared for his son's safety and loved him broke my heart. "We were so worried!" His anger with Nothing came from his fear for his children as a father. I don't think anyone can find fault with that. And now, he is dead, and his cubs are expected to die with him.
I'm surprised so many people hate her now tbh, just from a little outburst. She'll regret it later okay guys, chill. i mean i don't know that but i really don't think it's tribbleofdoom's plan to make her a villain.
“I love you so much it hurts” • called her own child nothing at the naming ceremony • calls her a curse even though she wounded the lion that killed the previous mane of the pride AND one of the cubs • continuously verbally abuses her YEP SOUNDS LIKE LOVE TO ME /s
I love how every character is written. They all are realistic in the context of our world but also display their own world really well. I like how Hover doesn’t end her friendship with Nothing straight away. She’s angry with her right now but she doesn’t just straight up throw away their relationship because of it. I love how Proudmane tells Nothing “None of this was personal, make sure Fire knows this” because it shows that he was just doing what he needs to to survive. I even like Nothings conversation with her mom. They live in a world where their physical capabilities are directly tied to their worth as a person so it makes sense for her mom to react that way that she did to Nothings disability. It’s all just so great.
Hover seemed perfectly ready to just stand by and let her gf be brutally slaughtered in front of her ngl. Even if she missed her naming ceremony, that's pretty fucking petty if you ask me lmao
i feel like most of the pride's grief will be saved for quickmane, considering a good portion is his children. and feather's sisters clearly care for their brother. powerstrike & hover (or longrun, rather) might be the only ones to be upset about nothing being "dead". i think longrun may take a while to come around, because she's clearly upset with nothing, but i feel she might find some indication that nothing is still alive and go after her.
Rain Thewolf78 I’m hoping that happens. I thought maybe when Longrun (Hover) finds Nothing again. That Nothing will ask her what happened to the pride and we’ll all get to see like a flashback. But at the same time we might just get an explanation of what happened to the pride after Quickmanes death.
I don’t empathize with Powerstrike, but I do understand her. I understand that her beliefs blinded her to what was really important. I understand that this is how she was raised to act. I understand that the world she has lived in shaped her views and personality. I understand that she said these things to her daughter because she was raised in a system that told her that a persons physical capabilities are directly linked to their worth. This does not make her actions acceptable but it’s no wonder she turned out the way she did.
I cant help but appreciate Quickmane’s character. He’s written so well, had to live with the constant reminder that he wasn’t good enough as a proper mane because he couldn’t even kill Starmane’s cubs. I think Nothing was a constant reminder of something he simply couldn’t finish. He was scared of her. He feels threatened by her, because he knew he couldn’t kill her even if he wanted to. I’ll miss his character a lot.
Seth Koppel True-in all honesty no ‘mane’ (only put ‘’ cause not to confuse it with no-mane) is completely good; they really most likely killed any cubs in the pride they found and only gave a shit about their own.
Looking back at this, just imagine how Hover/Longrun must have felt when the new male told her he killed Nothing. She probably didn't believe it, 'cause she would go looking for her body and not find it. Mybe she didn't look for it, maybe she didn't want to see it... she probably stayed only becouse she had nowhere else to go, but knowing her she was tempted to leave and only the other girls could stop her 'cause she was in shock. And how confused must her mother have been when she had just realiced she was protected by the godesses? maybe she thought they would be cursed in some other way later on? maybe she believed her silent grief and guilt was punishment enough?
@The Tuck And? Anyone can use whatever avatar they want to, dude. You can't just say "oh i'm just saying" without sounding like you're enforcing someone to not use something as an avatar because some channel you follow has the same thing.
The fact that Hover changed like that actually breaks my heart. Not even that, but they didn't listen to sharp tongue about the goddesses and now look what happened. Smh
Nothing didn’t listen to sharp tongue either, her last words were telling nothing to leave for her ‘hero’s journey/quest shtick’. I’m guessing the gods got fed up and tweaked a few thinks to make her leave, like if they made her believe she had nothing to return to/no one to care for her. It took the new mane to force her out, not sharp tounge, not the dreams, and not the white mane. They even tried a shot for feather since he was making her consider going back.🤷🏽♀️
Lots of people think Hover's reaction was fair, and I agree, but only in the moment. If she holds a grudge about something that's hardly Nothing's fault, I won't think that's fair
steph_draws_stuff I think it’s pretty selfish, considering that Nothing and Feather seemingly to them were almost attacked by a no mane. Then Quickmane tried to murder her in front of the entire pride. And threaten to kill her brother since he was angry that he couldn’t kill her,and Hover/Long run STILL was angry with her simply because she missed her ceremony. And refuse to help her reason with Quickmane knowing that she doesn’t stand a chance against him with her injury if he went through with killing her brother.
Relax! She CAN'T kill him or the cycle will start over again. So many people keep saying they don't want to see Nothing kill Feather, as though it is certain to happen. She'll probably get put in a position where killing him is an option, but you know she won't do it or else everyone will continue to suffer.
i feel bad that Hove-“LongRun” Has left Nothings side just because of the ceremony... alot of people ship them as Bffs and alot more But to see their relationship fall apart so fast.. Is dissapointing • Can’t wait for ep 6 tho
@@Mandy.8522 I hate her SO MUCH. The manipulation, the saying she believes in her kids when she sabatoged their mental health. Hover and Shadow Weaver would have f*cking tea over Adora and Catra AND Nothing
When Proud (I think that was his name?) stopped Nothing and went "and Nothing? None of this was personal. It's just what a mane has to do to survive." all my anger at him for wanting to kill Nothing, planing on attacking the pride and generally appearing so cruel kinda... Dissappeared? Like, he's right.he's not inherently an evil, bloodthirsty monster. It's eat or be eaten. He has to do it to survive, it doesn't matter if he wants to. I really love how the characters are written. They all have their stories, their past, good and bad things about them. They are very complex and lifelike. Congrats on achieving that! The art and voice acting are awesome too!
It’s ironic that Hover is mad at Nothing for breaking her promise to be at the ceremony. Because at the same time she broke her own promise to nothing by leaving her alone. She left nothing all alone after promising to never do so.
I loved when Nothing snapped, I just wish she would've confronted Powerstrike more. They say Nothing is weak, but in reality, Nothing is a lot stronger than they think she is. She bested a no mane as a cub, saved her and Fire's life by this, stood by all the misery and even dared to confront Powerstrike later.
I feel so, so bad for Nothing. Despite having the "goddess' blessing," all she's ever gotten is crap thrown in her face. She gets crippled while fighting for her life as a cub? The other pride members belittle her. She tries her best to gain the approval of her pride? They call her "Nothing" and treat her like a nanny. She wants to reunite with her brother who is pretty much her only surviving relative who gives a damn about her? His buddy kills Quickmane and exiles her from her own home. She meets the only lioness to ever see her for who she is and likes her romantically? She ends up losing her. Not even her own mother treats her with any decency. I know Nothing made a few misjudgments and wound up in a few of these situations off her own accord (leaving the cubs and not showing for Hover's ceremony), but holy shit this girl has some awful, awful luck. I hope her pride feels guilt over what they've done to her, and I want to watch them suffer.
Honestly" I feel the same. But their social hierarchy is the problem. If they didn't make the rules so unfair and cruel, no one would be hurt physically or mentally and just act like regular lions without strict rules (Personally, I think they're all flawed in the pride since they have to do this and that)
The goddesses are doing this to Nothing on purpose. This is how deities set their chosen ones on the path to greatness. They have to force them to give up everything that would get in their way.
If I was a Hunt Chief lioness and my daughter was hurt like nothing... I would have taught her to track and read the lay of the land. That way she could be a protector of the Cubs And warn us if there was trouble Before it happened. I would have named her Sentry, Long Gaze or Ever Watch... but that’s just me.
I honestly feel kinda bad for Proud. He’s acting all tough and scary but he actually cares deep down, even if it’s hard to reach. He let nothing go even if it was with hesitance and respected her wishes after she left. He easily could have told the pride.
And remember how he said “none of this was personal, it’s just what a Mane has to do to survive. When you find Fire make sure he knows that.” I wonder how Proudmane is going to react once he sees Fire in his present state after episode 10. Would Proud think of his actions as necessary or radical and monstrous? Emotionally mentally wise not just his physical actions. Would Proud see it as just what a mane would do or would he see Fire as a very weak mane who didn’t stand up for himself and in some ways dishonored Pride Law by being more of a monster instead of a leader?
I like how Powerstrike acknowledges that if life had turned out differently, Nothing would have been an AMAZING huntress... she knows how gifted her daughter is. And I think that seeing Nothing crippled by her injuries really did originally eat her up inside with horror for what her daughter has to live with... ... but she turned that emotion inwards, started to hate herself for loving her daughter even though Nothing was now "weak" and so took it out on Nothing to purge herself of that emotion. Always seeing what her daughter COULD have been instead of accepting the one she has and what that daughter can do. Maybe even hating herself for wishing Nothing HAD died. In a way I hope that when Proudmane gets to the Steppe Powerstrike realises what she lost now Nothing is "dead". I hope she allows herself to feel "weak". I also hope that Longrun leaves the pride when she hears Nothing is "dead" and manages to catch up with her and Feather at some point.
My prediction for episode 6 is that proud will tell everyone nothing is dead and hover will feel guilty for sending her out alone, the white lion from earlier will find nothing and feather and force them to follow him, finding fire in the process. I know it seems a little far fetched...
no it's good ! :-) I'll add that Feather's sisters will probably be killed by Proudmane and that in the end Nothing will have a name of her choosing or given by the godesses. Or she will be healed at the shifting place and will form a pride of her own after visiting her mom saying that she became the hunt chief of her own pride alongside Ghost, Feather, Fire and Hover
IT TOOK ME 6 TIMES TO REALIZE OF WATCHING THE FULL MOVIE- Going back to episode one, Near 5 minutes of the episode Sharptongue said "If you harm these cubs, you'll have the ire of the goddesses themselves" and after Quickmane harmed nothing, he was killed. Nothing does really have a useFUL curse!
At first I thought that this body belongs to the fire but as Quickmane was shown I had something like this: OMG thank the goddesses that Fire is still alive, I hope so ...
I can understand how guilty nothing’s mother must feel not having been able to have saved nothing from her injuries, and that makes her feel weak because her daughter has basically figuratively lost her life, even though she’s still physically alive, she lost her opportunity to be something great, or at least in her mother’s eyes. It’s still extremely wrong for her to put her anger with herself on Nothing, but she just needs to learn to cope and forgive herself, and to help her daughter

It really hurts when you can hear the desperation in Nothing's voice when she's asking Feather to come with her- I feel like she wanted to save him so badly because she couldn't save Sparks before, so maybe this is her way of saving 'if I couldn't save you before, I'll save him now that I can'
But what about Feather's two sisters?

That lion was Proud, the really serious no-mane from episode 4.
i love how it makes the lions feel more real i mean that is basically what they do in the wild. they are sent off by their mothers to live alone and they will take over a pride by killing the male and all of the cubs so the only cubs that will be left are the ones he will make with the lionesses.

I 100% agree with you on that 👍
Hmm, I'm not sure.

It’s just terrible that Hover didn’t want anything to do with a pride then joins one for someoneshe loves who dips out of there once her name changes
if you read the original story there's a little bit more that goes on.
And Nothing couldn't even be there for her, when she is being surrounded and judged by strangers. b
Throw in the love aspect and then Because Nothing had to go run off for a male.

Nothing’s half-sister would most likely feel relived (or atleast one of them would)
Hover would probably feel super guilty
Powerstrike would probably feel guilty but also not really
And Waterhunter would maybe be indifferent about it (im not sure since Waterhunter is a very secret character in the series)

Yeah I do agree with you!
I hope that too, very much. I loved the hint of guilt on Hover's face after she rejecting Nothing's pleas and turning her back to Nothing only to look at her over her shoulder a moment later and seeing her running away. I really hope that Hover follows her heart and leaves the Pride to find Nothing.
i was sitting here thinking: hover go after her now!
The fact she accepted the pride name and didn't just run off tells me she still wants to be part of Nothing's life. She's just very upset with her and needs time to let it sink it how much sorry isn't going to fix what Nothing did.

@@tuomaspolla3814 Yeah feather is adorable but I think he’s technically nothings half brother.
This is the first time I've said "Nothing matters" and actually meant it as a really positive thing.
Nothing matters, but life is what you make it. That's what I find so beautiful about a so called meaningless world
I love this!
That confused me in so many ways cause I thought you were say nothing doesn't matter. Im an idiot.
Yeah, and she also had the audacity to name her daughter Nothing, SHE FOUGHT AND HALF BLINDED A FULL GROWN NO-MANE FOR THE GODDESSES SAKE!!!!
@@RogueT-Rex8468
i think personally, she's trying to detach herself from Nothing. as a way of absolving herself of guilt, she acts as if Nothing is not her child.
it makes sense, and i dont blame her; in a world as horrific as the "pride law" system of My Pride, I'd probably rationalize my own disabled child like that too. the agony of knowing the lion Powerstrike /literally/ had cubs with is also the lion who /maimed/ her daughter and left her worthless would make me beyond numb.

@Wowie Zowie Lol, oh and I read a bit of the story this series is based off and Dang it is very different.
Powerstrike:
*Names child Nothing just to be cruel
*Constantly belittles her in front of others
*Doesn't allow child to comfort her
*Doesn't try to stop when child is being beaten in front of her
*Refuses to look at child because she's weak due to an injury she got while defending herself and her brother
*Doesn't care if other child dies either
Mother of the year right here
These are lions though. Weakness is not tolerated in the wild under any circumstance and to be fair, Powerstrike did give her a name and gave her multiple chances to back down.
And the award for worst mother goes to Powerstrike well done you deserve this crappy award
*claps*
Nice job, Powerstrike.
@Mackenzie Berman your opinion
Same here, honestly. I can’t stand the thought of her getting a redemption after this scene. Her reasoning is just so pitiful!

She cannot betray the Alpha Male (QuickMane) to save her son Fire. In this world, if she woudlve chased off QuickMane, another male Lion wouldve had to take the Pride, killing Feather and the other cubs (oh and probably banishing Nothing too, as they would not care about the feelings, but how much She Is important in a pack. tbh, i kinda knew where this is going with Hover joining Nothing's pride. this is what happens when you make huge sacrifices for your partner - it's a big no-no in relationships. basically, Hover sacrificed herself, her way of living, her freedom, for a lioness who doesn't even know what she wants.

Do you think Quickmane forgot about Sharptongue's warning about killing Nothing and Fire or did he really just didn't care about it?
@@RedPandaGirl002 He forgot. He was too busy being angry at her for risking his cubs' lives.
The reason Powerstrike is the way she is towards Nothing is that she feels like a failure of a mother because of how her daughter turned out and she feels guilt whenever she looks at her and sees what she could have been, if not for her.
Honestly a bit selfish if u ask me, she’d rather feel not pay attention to her daughter to not feel pain
Doesn't powerstrike have other cups beside nothing? They became great huntresses and seriously I think her explanation is weak. Quickmane would have killed her cups one way or another wouldn't he? There had been nothing powerstrike could have done would there?!
Still, she's one terrible mother
it's horrid that powerstrike only sees nothing as a piece of her own legacy. she says it herself, "you could've been _my_ proudest achievement." she doesn't care about nothing beyond her abilities. she _is_ selfish and she _is_ a terrible mother, but damn if she isn't a really cool and interesting character
At least that's must be how she justifies it
I really like Proudmane. He was like “I killed your leader take that.” But then he follows it by, “hey I’m sorry, tell fire that.”
He had to be tough and strong but it’s what he has to do or he will die

@@AkaneCreations Not a lot of characters do that 😔
L’s Corner LOL
But being reasonable here, he was going to kill her until she talked about the curse in which he let her go, kicking her out of the pride, I'm not saying it was personal but I think she has a reason to be mad enough to say it was personal to Fire.

Feather almost being crushed by a tree branch HAS to be a sign by the goddesses. I’m so excited for the next episode!
You're right. I was confused first why this happened at all cause it really hadn't to do anything with the story. But if you see it that way, it really makes sense.
How I see it it’s a sign they both have nothing left with their old pride. They have to find a new family now.
But another curse protected Nothing from Proud and she saved feather
It’s a sign from the storm goddess
breakfree The storm goddess tried to kill Feather because according to pride law the no mane has to kill all of the former leader’s cubs.
Feather is such a sweet kid. Hopefully he survives the whole series. And it is nice to see nothing taking a motherly/older sister role for feather

I agree we never got to see the entirety of a Pride Huntress Assessment
I mean why was Hover named Longrun, does she have great endurance or something?
Also hypothetically speaking if our girl Nothing was to join another pride could she retake the Huntress Assessment since Powerstrike didn’t allow her to continue?
S A M E
@Wolf Dragon they probably named her LongRun because she has good endurance so she can keep running for a while before getting tired.
Just passing by to say that I absolutely love Feather's complete trust in Nothing. She says that they both have to leave, he keeps silent and then just ask if they're ever coming back. That's all. It's incredibly beautiful.

He’s was still an asshole though
The actor for Quickmane has such an amazing voice!!!❤️
Right? If you’ve seen the bloopers, he’s just as amazing!
Honestly though, it’s the only reason why I like him-
First of all l: life is so unfair to Nothing.
Second: Feather is the second cutest lion after Simba!
Third: I don't like Nothing's mother (I think nobody does).
I didn't like her either. But at the middle part of the video, she _did_ show how truly she loves her daughter!
Julya Flyer Almost all lions show affection to their cubs either because they have to protect them or they do truly love them
I for one do like Nothing's mother. She is a character behaving just like a real lioness would. Quickmane too.
3:20 : I love when Powerstrike says "You could have been my proudest achievment" and Farleap and Silentstalk look at each other. Because I think they were rude to Nothing because despite being huntresses, their mother still loved Nothing more than them

It really makes me wonder how things would have panned out if she'd said: "Today is a bit busy, Fire, how about I visit tomorrow?"
Proud is not actually the bad guy. I know he wanted to kill Nothing, because he saw her as useless, but also because it would be mercy for her - he knew she wouldn't survive alone.
I agree. He even let her go after warning her that her brother was gone and she was unlikely to survive alone
If you think about it, that's what no manes have to do. If they ever want a pride of their own they have to kill a mane. And while he was using Nothing and Feather at the beginning, he was never the bad guy. He was just doing what pride lore dictates him to do
@@lukasdanarm My thoughts
@@lukasdanarm I agree with you. He even did that face of guilt when Nothing was about to leave.
and it was kind of right that quick mane died because of his weakness
Now I wonder if the reason why Farleap and Silentstalk are the way they are because Powerstrike told them to not get attached to their sister, so they wouldn't be weak, it might make sence
No you died
Манчо Ковачев ?
But they looked at her before so doesn’t that make them weak?
@random idiot yes
@@ElloFantasy It's part true. But Nothing did something completely expected when she attacked Quikman: She was trying to survive.
I mean, it's not really quickmanes fault. EVERY male lion has to kill the cubs to become the leader

I wonder if we are gonna get a reaction of the pride over Nothing's " death", the disappearance of Feather, and the death of Quickmane
This makes me sad cause Moonkitties character gonna die :[
i feel like most of the pride's grief will be saved for quickmane, considering a good portion is his children. and feather's sisters clearly care for their brother. powerstrike & hover (or longrun, rather) might be the only ones to be upset about nothing being "dead".
i think longrun may take a while to come around, because she's clearly upset with nothing, but i feel she might find some indication that nothing is still alive and go after her.
I hope so!
this also makes us question whether Proud will become the pride's mane, since Feather is gone and there is no proof the no-mane killed him.
I think you do empathize because you understand where she’s coming from. But you don’t agree or sympathize with her. That’s cool.

@@torrinashley6076 Yeah, there's no way its just over between them just cause Nothing missed her trial.

Antihero
If they didn't make the rules so unfair and cruel, no one would be hurt physically or mentally and just act like regular lions without strict rules
(Personally, I think they're all flawed in the pride since they have to do this and that)
The goddesses are doing this to Nothing on purpose. This is how deities set their chosen ones on the path to greatness. They have to force them to give up everything that would get in their way.
I feel more bad for the kids who are about to die because Nothing took a solid 1 second before telling the enemy where they are.
Sid Proudmane is about to make them suffer.
Sid I love your profile pic! It’s Shin-ae from I Love Yoo right?
If I was a Hunt Chief lioness and my daughter was hurt like nothing... I would have taught her to track and read the lay of the land. That way she could be a protector of the Cubs And warn us if there was trouble Before it happened. I would have named her Sentry, Long Gaze or Ever Watch... but that’s just me.
Good idea
Cruelty of animal world for you :( no mercy
@Paul the Mascot Lions do not care for the weak, the weak are either left behind or they die
@Paul the Mascot ok....?
@Paul the Mascot :)
When you find Fire make sure he knows that.”
I wonder how Proudmane is going to react once he sees Fire in his present state after episode 10.
At 8:22, the emotion in Nothing’s voice is SO RAW and SO REAL. It’s perfect and I can’t get enough of this series.
ah yes
raw emotion
@@smilofangs is there something wrong?
@@dnatalok7250 no, it sounded funny
@@smilofangs oh, well it was really the only way I could put it at the moment😅
@@smilofangs Raw emotion is a real term in the english language, you know lol
Me too awsome
These are great theories, and I hope that Tangle joins the new pride as well because him and Fire seemed like good friends
Same thought
I ship Fire and Tangle 😳
Their Shipname is Fangle
IT TOOK ME 6 TIMES TO REALIZE OF WATCHING THE FULL MOVIE-
Going back to episode one, Near 5 minutes of the episode Sharptongue said "If you harm these cubs, you'll have the ire of the goddesses themselves" and after Quickmane harmed nothing, he was killed. Nothing does really have a useFUL curse!
**Sees the body**
OH SHI-
**See that's Quickmane**
Oh thank God
Same reaction XD
Same xd
At first I thought that this body belongs to the fire but as Quickmane was shown I had something like this: OMG thank the goddesses that Fire is still alive, I hope so ...
@@ame4061 same here UwU i almost cry saying "no,no,no,no!" Then it was quickmane and i was like "YES, YES AAAAAAH"
@@ame4061 Me too 😹
I can understand how guilty nothing’s mother must feel not having been able to have saved nothing from her injuries, and that makes her feel weak because her daughter has basically figuratively lost her life, even though she’s still physically alive, she lost her opportunity to be something great, or at least in her mother’s eyes. It’s still extremely wrong for her to put her anger with herself on Nothing, but she just needs to learn to cope and forgive herself, and to help her daughter
Hover's gonna be pissed when she finds out that mane "killed" her.
She's also gonna be pissed when she finds out Nothing lived (if she lives)
I thought the same
Feather is so sweet! The way he was concerned for his cousin, it just makes me want to pick him up and give him an enormous cuddle.
