That interaction at 10:38 between Powerstrike and Proudmane is amazing, how she nudges forward with a growl and he takes a full step back. Minute but brilliant storytelling showing Powerstrike's authority and influence there.
Proudmane is such a creep, the scene with him getting Silent Stalk to follow him after Long Run leaves is chilling in how it clearly looks like an abuser convincing their victim that the people they love are actually bad and using that to isolate them.

Silentstalk totally shows visable signs that she is being manipulated by proudmane. I know it's how it is, but her glances to him, the way she looks away, and how she hesitates she talks to hover that nothing is dead and she needs to move on. Silentstalk hasn't moved on, but is being forced to listen to her manes opinions. The way proudmane walked over her, and his shadow engulfed her, I think is symbolic of him over taking her mind and brainwashing her. The way she said "nothing is dead, huntresses belong to their mane" sounded super forced, and rehearsed. Also, remember when hover told nothing she dreamed about her teeth falling out? People who dream about teeth falling out are usually very anxious and have tendancies to be emotionally unerable to a extend, and they also grind their teeth in sleep. Hover is hiding behind a facade of being super silly, and a jokester and confident.

Does anyone else realize she said in Episode Five to Nothing: "When I looked at you, all I can see is who you could have been, it makes me feel *weak*, weak is one thing a Pride Lioness can *never* be." And now she's no longer a Pride lioness, and is looking for Nothing.
I love the symbolism of Silentstalk being covered by Proudmane's shadow. It' a great show-don't-tell method about who's actually been infected by someone's beliefs. I have alwsys loved this but never commented on it until now.
I'm not surprised. At the beginning of episode 3, PowerStrike saw Nothing and Hover sneak off together and seeing how they interact with each other. So she probably put two and two together. But since sharptongue died and they were desperate for help with hunting they put it aside.
@Odilianne she is her mother. And she literally acted to her like shit... I know it was because of status and the reputation she had and had to make sacrifices but I am proud she finally stands tall for her daughter against the odds.
Underrated Line: "I'LL decide what I am." Hover's sledge of love to Nothing was intense, but this calmly spoken sentence gave a lot of character to Farleap with a single breath. She was held behind by the image of perfection vonstantlg being put on her. She's much more vulnerable without that sentiment, but she's also much more free.
Powerstrike saying "i know she did. only sunce knows why" really got to me. she knows she was terrible to Nothing, she purposefully pushed her away so she didn't make herself "weak" but Nothing never stopped caring for her. she knows she was wrong. so now i'm ready for a Powerstrike redemption arc

I haven't seen it all yet, but I seriously hope that Powerstrike gets called out or even punished for mentally abusing Nothing. There are no excuses for literally naming someone basically "worthless" because of something they have no control over. None.
In my opinion this is the best episode so far Nothing's mother her half sister and Hover telling Proudmane off and leaving to find nothing I love it Also did anyone else notice how during the beginning Farleap got closer to Hover during the flipping of clips and that the 2 cubs grew a little during it too

Fun fact. Sometimes, rarely, a Lioness will grow a pretty full mane. She starts roaring like a male and defends the pride. The males usually accept her because he helps discourage wondering males from attacking because they think there is an extra male in the pride.
I was thinking about that, 'cause it kind of looks like Hover's got a bit of one. She's got that tuff of fur on her forehead not unlike Feather's, and the fur on her neck and chest is thicker than the others and also compared to the rest of her body. Could just be she's scruffy but it is noticible.
That’s actually in a specific place and it was because of something in the water, I think. I read an article about that a long time ago so my memory on it is sort of blurry
God. Damn. The shock of losing Nothing made Powerstrike begin to sort out her conflicted feelings about her daughter, and the hope of her still potentially being alive finally made her choose love over Pride Law... she knows that she treated Nothing terribly, and she regretted it. I think that she always thought it would probably be better if Nothing was dead, but 'death' didn't settle the feelings for her. It made them worse and she finally chose to embrace the love that was making her feel 'weak'... because she finally got that it was the blind devotion to Pride Law that was causing her to feel 'weak' all along. Also, yes Farleap! That talk in the tree was more about how she hated Nothing for taking all the attention she felt she deserved, and now Nothing is 'dead', she realises that she regretted all of the ill treatment. She too, was shocked out of her negative thoughts and gained clarity that Pride Law was dictating her life to a point that was unhealthy. I feel both of these two will struggle with the newfound freedom outside of pride life, but they've both opened their eyes a little. It could fit them both very well. Also: Longrun is dead. Long live Hover!
While I still don't forgive Powerstrike and Farleap, at least it's good to see that Powerstrike does seem to regret how she treated her daughter and how much she misses her, otherwise she wouldn't have risked her place in the Pride and her hunt chief's position over just defending her deceased daughter's girlfriend: she just threw her entire life away just to protect the last memory of her daughter and to cling to the last chance she had of her still being alive. Not saying that everything Powerstrike did to Nothing is okay, it is not, but at least we do know Powerstrike does love her kid. Heck, she probably was the one who knew all along about her relationship with Hover knowing it was looked down upon, yet she allowed it and probably convinced Quickmane to let the two of them be. Also, Farleap, while not accepting her treatment of her eldest sister, at least we now understand why. Doesn't justify it, but at least it does seem like she does care for Nothing too, if she was willing to defend Hover and look for her. I just LOVE how complex every single character is in this series, no one is perfect, good or bad, each one has it's own good traits and flaws
Sounds like Surak from the Lion Guard that resides at tree of life night pride members who is also the son of Queen Janna, uncle to both Rani and Baliyo. Not sure if that’s the same actor that played that voice, but the voice is very similar. It almost kind of makes you feel like man I can’t believe I’m hearing his voice yet. I don’t want him to be the antagonist that we see him as in this series. Well unlike scar that was willing to murder his brother for power he is actually more wiser, caring, loyal to his family, even willing to help his niece and nephew giving them needed advice like a parent.

I used to hate Farleap and Silentstalk. But after watching this, I’m starting to really like them. Farleap and Silentstalk were only rude to Nothing because Powerstrike influenced them. But, now, it seems they do care about Nothing, and more importantly, each other. I honestly teared up when Silentstalk begged Farleap not to leave, because she was her “sister and best friend”. It’s such an emotional moment, and I really love how this episode changed my opinion on those two lions
Farleap is ok but Silientstalk? No. As you can see, she still having such a closed mind and i feel like she tried to manipulate Farleap by using emotinal and sentimental words so Farleap might change her mind. Maybe i'm just going too far away but that thing of "lionesses belongs to their mane" breaks the empathy i started to have on her.

They aren't replaceable though. The manes change, the pride does not. Proud is the one who is replaceable and he knows it. He's right to be scared, his power is made up of loyalty and the prides perception of him as their leader. If he loses those two things, he loses everything. Get his ass girls.
Well, consider how small this pride actually become. Before they left, this pride consisted of Proudmane, Powerstrike, Waterhunter and her cubs, Farleap, Silentstalk and Longrun. Five lionesses and one of them is taking care of cubs. When Hover/Longrun, Powerstrike and Farleap decided to leave, there are only two lionesses here and one of them is taking care of cubs. The Hunt Chief left. I can hardly imagine how this pride will survie considering Silentstalk will soon have cubs probably. Who will become Hunt Chief??
The best hunters of the pride are gone. With other predators on the Sisters' Steppe, it's very likely that another pride may take over... or a clan of spotted hyenas.

It's clear that there's a relationship building with Silentstalk and Proudmane, so it's likely that she will be the new Hunt Chief since Powerstrike's gone. And possibly after seeing her mother and sister leave, Silentstalk believes that they abandoned Pride Law, abandoned their Mane over Nothing. All in all, thing's aren't going to go well for the Pride of the Sister's Step. Either Silentstalk is gonna get brainwashed by Proudmane(If she wasn't already), or she grows cold and bitter at her family.
It's refreshing to see support between these lioness, especially given all of the trials and fights they've had. This shows that people can grow past their worst moments and learn to love and support each other. I really love that about this show, that every lion is realistic and not just a flat or boring character.
One of my theories is that Farleap has a crush on Hover, and cares for her, but is too brainwashed under Pride Law to realize or notice that her liking of her is more than just friendship. I think she'll start to find out her true feelings away from the Pride, and I think she will admit it, but ultimately be rejected. I also don't think she'll pull a nicegirlTM on Hover, but respect her decision and still end up as close friends. I also get veryyyyyyyyy bad vibes from Silentstalk and Proudmane's relationship. I can sense all the manipulating red flags Proudmane shows to her and how he seems to backtalk all the other huntresses in order for her to stay. Hopefully Silentstalk can get out of that, she seems to have a very soft and eager-to-please side to her that can be SO easily manipulated as shown in this ep. Lastly, I am SO excited for Nothing's mother's development!! It's not going to be easy, and I don't believe it will be fully resolved because the things she did do to Nothing were awful. I hope she apologizes(but not forgiven since Nothing has every right to) and tries to be a better lion from now on. Maybe she and Nothing can have a positive friendship at the end of all this! Can you tell I love these lions HGYTF7CRXDYCFTUGT tribble you and your team are genius writers and I applaud you for making me so emotional over big cats
Consider this though; in Prides, Manes are polyamorous. Why couldn’t Farleap x Hover x Nothing happen in a V shaped triad, with Hover as the hinge? Especially if Hover becomes the “mane” of the pride. Love triangles are so 2012; in 2020 we want healthy polyamorous lesbian triads.

I learned that they both always have loved me very much and l didn't see it then but l do now. I haven't seen my brother in 5 years because l am on the otherside of the world, and l miss him a lot.. And l'd love to see him again. And if my parents talked about my brother and he was missing, l wouldn't be hurt if they only talked about him, because l know if l was the one missing, they'd talk about me. I would help look for him too. And l am sure he'd do the same for me.

If you look at Hover and Farleap's reactions to Rain leaving, Hover sees that Rain is gone immediately, but Farleap continues talking for a few more seconds, because Farleap probably believes that "A Prideless would NEVER leave without our consent!" This shows their personalities so well!
y'know I'm loving how Powerstrike is seemingly changing for the better all on the hope that her daughter is alive. I can't imagine how she must have felt-spouting off that she does love her daughter but it hurts cause she's ashamed of her daughter's physical condition, only to be told possibly a few hours later that Proudmane killed her in cold blood. I feel like in the time since Nothing left, Powerstrike has reflected on how she's treated her daughter, and has regretted everything she has said and done. and now with the chance to apologize and tell her daughter "I was wrong about you", no wonder she'd abandon the pride with Hover and Farleap. really makes me think that Powerstrike did in fact greatly care for her daughter but she had to put up a front to not be seen as weak. not saying that I'm defending what Powerstrike said to her daughter-cause what she said was horrible and I wouldn't blame Nothing if she doesn't forgive her mom-but I love how this series is making these characters so 3D and complex with how they act, say and think.

Everyone knew this was going to have a gay/lesbian storyline. I'm ending it here because of the inaccuracy. Female lionesses are not sexually or romantically involved I real life; However, I know this is just film and not everything is going to be accurate. You guys enjoy the rest of the show. I----- the "homophobia" warning went over my head. When it got to Hover saying "I love her" heteronormitivity made me question "does she mean she's in love or loves like a sister?" but no... GAY LIONS!! I love this show so much more now.
Gotta be honest, while I was excited for a Hover-centered episode, this one lands weirdly for me. Farleap's moment on reflecting on being hurt because Powerstrike paid attention to Nothing (by abusing her) comes off more bratty than sympathetic, and it's hard to understand why Hover would sympathize with her and Powerstrike after witnessing the abuse the pride put her girlfriend through. Unless Hover is purposely being portrayed as uncritical of Nothing's trauma/abusers, in which case I hope that's made more clear in the future - it makes her seem like a poor choice for a supportive romantic partner, even if she is trying to go find Nothing.
It's also odd to me that there's never been any implication that lesbian relationships are illegal/punishable by death - I feel like this should have been a MAJOR concern for Hover before joining the pride.
To me it kinda fits that Hover would be sympathetic to Farleap because Hover is one of the few who recognizes that they are all victims of this screwed up world. She probably figures they'd all be decent lions otherwise.
@@Komakazeම It would maybe fit if she wasn't Nothing's partner, but it really doesn't (if the intent is for her to be a positive/healthy/supportive partner). You can recognize the way people are victims of circumstance without directly sympathizing with and comforting your girlfriend's abusive family. My abusive mom had plenty of life circumstances that were challenging for her, but if my girlfriend was overly sympathetic about that knowing the kind of abuse she'd exposed me to, I'd be pretty appalled. There's not really anything that suggests they'd all be decent and non-abusive people to Nothing if pride law was different and assuming that in order to sympathize with your partner's abusers is really some toxic wishful thinking at best.

A little late to the show but my husband has been talking about this non-stop. He's got a Nothing plush and everything and... Well I finally started watching. I think I enjoy this as much as he does!
This makes me appreciate Quickmane’s character even more, he and Powerstrike were well aware of Nothing and Hover’s relationship, and while they knew it was against Pride Law. They knew they needed another lioness to help with the hunts after Sharptongue died, and Quickmane and Powerstrike overlooked it so they could help feed the Pride. Proudmane is a prime example that sometimes traditions can be more hurtful than good, and because of his actions he just costed three of his Huntresses and dug himself into a bigger hole.
Hm, not quite. I say the one that does is Proudmane and the Pride Law. Proud is another word for "Pride". So in a sense he embodies the pride law itself with how he talks about it.
Also the fact that hovers neck was really fluffy in some of the parts was an amazing touch, it almost made me feel like she could be a mane/no mane and it was cute how farleap said if they should just call her "longrun mane" it made me feel like she had a new level of respect, idk why but I feel, if she was a mane she'd probably be the best mane out of all of them :3
I love how Powerstrike forgot her duties as Huntschief for one minute and defended Nothing as her daughter. Can’t wait to see them all reunite! Also, can I just say I love the lore you created for lions in this series? It’s a lot closer to reality than Lion King, even if Lion King does try to uphold the law of the Savannah with the Circle of Life being their guidelines.
I'm actually wondering if she was going to be Huntschief much longer at this point, it seemed more like Silentstalk might have taken her place. Though it could just be that Silentstalk is his favorite. I'm wondering if she might be carrying his cubs.

Honestly, I think silentstalk and proudmane are in a toxic relationship, so around 10:49 or something you can see silenstalk look back towards proudmane, and I honestly think that silentstalk was being reminded of those ancient rules by proudmane.
I think that’s a type of relationship, just not the kind humans would have, it is still vulnerable and has the potential to be good or horribly toxic. So the dynamics of an unhealthy/abusive relationship would be the same.

The detail in this show... in the wild when a lioness is alone they will somtimes grow a mane to ward off male lions. They can do this also when they’re in a pride of only females where one will grow the mane to keep away males. Notice how the pride lionesses have no tufts of hair on their heads? But the pride less do? It’s because if this. This also makes the relationship between hover and nothing an actual thing that can happen in certain lioness prides

Is nobody gonna talk about how Silentstalk is in an abusive relationship? Proudmane rules over her with fear. It’s shown with his shadow being cast over her. I hope we get an episode, or at least a little side clip, of how the two of them do now that her and Water are the only ones left.
More so, I think he used her being neglected by her parents, so she jumped at the first opportunity of being loved and cared for. She simply thinks she cannot leave, because she is scared and desperate.

I’m rewatching this episode. And when Hover is sitting on the tree, farleap makes EVERYTHING about herself. Blaming nothing for her injury, and only thinking about how she was impacted by it, she completely disregards the fact that their mother CONSTANTLY bashes nothing for her injury, she throws out the idea that nothing can hardly walk. She says their mother’s attention was on nothing, but she acts like she hates nothing, she’s proud of her perfect daughter but not once does she say she’s proud of nothing for protecting herself from a full grown mane.
I noticed it too. Look, it's valid to be jealous of your mother's fixation on another sibling, but Nothing has it genuinely worse. It's no competition, but Farleap did great at her huntress assessment, earned the praise of the Pride, became a symbol of a proper huntress, she has a sister with whom she has a good relationship with... meanwhile, Powerstrike is fixated on Nothing only because she got injured and failed her huntress assessment. She sees what she _could_ have been and not what she _is._ Nothing was the punching bag of the Pride and had to rely on them to stay alive despite being an adult. Farleap should learn to get over her jealousy. I've been jealous myself, and it's hard to get over it, but it's no excuse to be an a-hole. With that said, I don't dislike her character. I hope we see more of her and some development in season 2, which I'm guessing isn't cancelled. It's a decently written series, with great high points, an intriguing plot, and interesting characters and lore.

Before I hated almost every lion in this show so far apart from hover and fire because of how they treated nothing, I've gained new respect for farleap because I never knew that she was basicly jealous of nothing and it made me happy to see her admit to that at the start but I also felt bad for her :( my respect for powerstrike was like 2% at the start, but when she said that she stood with her huntresses and basicly everything else she said made my respect for her got to 100% :>>

Silentstalk totally shows visable signs that she is being manipulated by proudmane. I know it's how it is, but her glances to him, the way she looks away, and how she hesitates she talks to hover that nothing is dead and she needs to move on. Silentstalk hasn't moved on, but is being forced to listen to her manes opinions. The way proudmane walked over her, and his shadow engulfed her, I think is symbolic of him over taking her mind and brainwashing her. The way she said "nothing is dead, huntresses belong to their mane" sounded super forced, and rehearsed.
Also, remember when hover told nothing she dreamed about her teeth falling out? People who dream about teeth falling out are usually very anxious and have tendancies to be emotionally unerable to a extend, and they also grind their teeth in sleep. Hover is hiding behind a facade of being super silly, and a jokester and confident.

I'm not surprised. At the beginning of episode 3, PowerStrike saw Nothing and Hover sneak off together and seeing how they interact with each other. So she probably put two and two together. But since sharptongue died and they were desperate for help with hunting they put it aside.

This is the one redeeming quality that makes me not want to throw Quickmane into the fires of hell.

Hover's sledge of love to Nothing was intense, but this calmly spoken sentence gave a lot of character to Farleap with a single breath. She was held behind by the image of perfection vonstantlg being put on her. She's much more vulnerable without that sentiment, but she's also much more free.

I was thinking about that, 'cause it kind of looks like Hover's got a bit of one. She's got that tuff of fur on her forehead not unlike Feather's, and the fur on her neck and chest is thicker than the others and also compared to the rest of her body. Could just be she's scruffy but it is noticible.

The shock of losing Nothing made Powerstrike begin to sort out her conflicted feelings about her daughter, and the hope of her still potentially being alive finally made her choose love over Pride Law... she knows that she treated Nothing terribly, and she regretted it. I think that she always thought it would probably be better if Nothing was dead, but 'death' didn't settle the feelings for her. It made them worse and she finally chose to embrace the love that was making her feel 'weak'... because she finally got that it was the blind devotion to Pride Law that was causing her to feel 'weak' all along.
Also, yes Farleap! That talk in the tree was more about how she hated Nothing for taking all the attention she felt she deserved, and now Nothing is 'dead', she realises that she regretted all of the ill treatment. She too, was shocked out of her negative thoughts and gained clarity that Pride Law was dictating her life to a point that was unhealthy.
I feel both of these two will struggle with the newfound freedom outside of pride life, but they've both opened their eyes a little. It could fit them both very well.

While I still don't forgive Powerstrike and Farleap, at least it's good to see that Powerstrike does seem to regret how she treated her daughter and how much she misses her, otherwise she wouldn't have risked her place in the Pride and her hunt chief's position over just defending her deceased daughter's girlfriend: she just threw her entire life away just to protect the last memory of her daughter and to cling to the last chance she had of her still being alive. Not saying that everything Powerstrike did to Nothing is okay, it is not, but at least we do know Powerstrike does love her kid. Heck, she probably was the one who knew all along about her relationship with Hover knowing it was looked down upon, yet she allowed it and probably convinced Quickmane to let the two of them be.
Also, Farleap, while not accepting her treatment of her eldest sister, at least we now understand why. Doesn't justify it, but at least it does seem like she does care for Nothing too, if she was willing to defend Hover and look for her.
I just LOVE how complex every single character is in this series, no one is perfect, good or bad, each one has it's own good traits and flaws

Sounds like Surak from the Lion Guard that resides at tree of life night pride members who is also the son of Queen Janna, uncle to both Rani and Baliyo. Not sure if that’s the same actor that played that voice, but the voice is very similar. It almost kind of makes you feel like man I can’t believe I’m hearing his voice yet. I don’t want him to be the antagonist that we see him as in this series. Well unlike scar that was willing to murder his brother for power he is actually more wiser, caring, loyal to his family, even willing to help his niece and nephew giving them needed advice like a parent.
I love Waterhunters face after Hover said she loved nothing. She was like “oh lord, stuff is about to happen.”

I used to hate Farleap and Silentstalk. But after watching this, I’m starting to really like them.
Farleap and Silentstalk were only rude to Nothing because Powerstrike influenced them. But, now, it seems they do care about Nothing, and more importantly, each other.
I honestly teared up when Silentstalk begged Farleap not to leave, because she was her “sister and best friend”.
It’s such an emotional moment, and I really love how this episode changed my opinion on those two lions

Well, consider how small this pride actually become. Before they left, this pride consisted of Proudmane, Powerstrike, Waterhunter and her cubs, Farleap, Silentstalk and Longrun. Five lionesses and one of them is taking care of cubs. When Hover/Longrun, Powerstrike and Farleap decided to leave, there are only two lionesses here and one of them is taking care of cubs. The Hunt Chief left. I can hardly imagine how this pride will survie considering Silentstalk will soon have cubs probably. Who will become Hunt Chief??
The best hunters of the pride are gone. With other predators on the Sisters' Steppe, it's very likely that another pride may take over... or a clan of spotted hyenas.

It's clear that there's a relationship building with Silentstalk and Proudmane, so it's likely that she will be the new Hunt Chief since Powerstrike's gone. And possibly after seeing her mother and sister leave, Silentstalk believes that they abandoned Pride Law, abandoned their Mane over Nothing. All in all, thing's aren't going to go well for the Pride of the Sister's Step. Either Silentstalk is gonna get brainwashed by Proudmane(If she wasn't already), or she grows cold and bitter at her family.
This is a sign that SilentStalk is in a bad relationship.
It's refreshing to see support between these lioness, especially given all of the trials and fights they've had. This shows that people can grow past their worst moments and learn to love and support each other. I really love that about this show, that every lion is realistic and not just a flat or boring character.
One of my theories is that Farleap has a crush on Hover, and cares for her, but is too brainwashed under Pride Law to realize or notice that her liking of her is more than just friendship. I think she'll start to find out her true feelings away from the Pride, and I think she will admit it, but ultimately be rejected. I also don't think she'll pull a nicegirlTM on Hover, but respect her decision and still end up as close friends.
I also get veryyyyyyyyy bad vibes from Silentstalk and Proudmane's relationship. I can sense all the manipulating red flags Proudmane shows to her and how he seems to backtalk all the other huntresses in order for her to stay. Hopefully Silentstalk can get out of that, she seems to have a very soft and eager-to-please side to her that can be SO easily manipulated as shown in this ep.
Lastly, I am SO excited for Nothing's mother's development!! It's not going to be easy, and I don't believe it will be fully resolved because the things she did do to Nothing were awful. I hope she apologizes(but not forgiven since Nothing has every right to) and tries to be a better lion from now on. Maybe she and Nothing can have a positive friendship at the end of all this!

I think throughout the making of the series she was going to have a bigger role. She was going to have a voice, but they decided to keep her silent. Maybe she will have a bigger role, I hope so.

If you look at Hover and Farleap's reactions to Rain leaving, Hover sees that Rain is gone immediately, but Farleap continues talking for a few more seconds, because Farleap probably believes that "A Prideless would NEVER leave without our consent!" This shows their personalities so well!

y'know I'm loving how Powerstrike is seemingly changing for the better all on the hope that her daughter is alive. I can't imagine how she must have felt-spouting off that she does love her daughter but it hurts cause she's ashamed of her daughter's physical condition, only to be told possibly a few hours later that Proudmane killed her in cold blood. I feel like in the time since Nothing left, Powerstrike has reflected on how she's treated her daughter, and has regretted everything she has said and done. and now with the chance to apologize and tell her daughter "I was wrong about you", no wonder she'd abandon the pride with Hover and Farleap.
really makes me think that Powerstrike did in fact greatly care for her daughter but she had to put up a front to not be seen as weak. not saying that I'm defending what Powerstrike said to her daughter-cause what she said was horrible and I wouldn't blame Nothing if she doesn't forgive her mom-but I love how this series is making these characters so 3D and complex with how they act, say and think.

Kill off the weak, kill off what could endanger the pride. The only reason they didn't kill off Nothing is cause they were afraid of the gods' wrath. But she was deemed weak, and she wasn't the child of the new mane. So if it weren't for her being special, she wouldn't be our main character.

Gotta be honest, while I was excited for a Hover-centered episode, this one lands weirdly for me. Farleap's moment on reflecting on being hurt because Powerstrike paid attention to Nothing (by abusing her) comes off more bratty than sympathetic, and it's hard to understand why Hover would sympathize with her and Powerstrike after witnessing the abuse the pride put her girlfriend through. Unless Hover is purposely being portrayed as uncritical of Nothing's trauma/abusers, in which case I hope that's made more clear in the future - it makes her seem like a poor choice for a supportive romantic partner, even if she is trying to go find Nothing.
It's also odd to me that there's never been any implication that lesbian relationships are illegal/punishable by death - I feel like this should have been a MAJOR concern for Hover before joining the pride.

You can recognize the way people are victims of circumstance without directly sympathizing with and comforting your girlfriend's abusive family. My abusive mom had plenty of life circumstances that were challenging for her, but if my girlfriend was overly sympathetic about that knowing the kind of abuse she'd exposed me to, I'd be pretty appalled. There's not really anything that suggests they'd all be decent and non-abusive people to Nothing if pride law was different and assuming that in order to sympathize with your partner's abusers is really some toxic wishful thinking at best.

This makes me appreciate Quickmane’s character even more, he and Powerstrike were well aware of Nothing and Hover’s relationship, and while they knew it was against Pride Law. They knew they needed another lioness to help with the hunts after Sharptongue died, and Quickmane and Powerstrike overlooked it so they could help feed the Pride. Proudmane is a prime example that sometimes traditions can be more hurtful than good, and because of his actions he just costed three of his Huntresses and dug himself into a bigger hole.

I love how Powerstrike forgot her duties as Huntschief for one minute and defended Nothing as her daughter. Can’t wait to see them all reunite! Also, can I just say I love the lore you created for lions in this series? It’s a lot closer to reality than Lion King, even if Lion King does try to uphold the law of the Savannah with the Circle of Life being their guidelines.
She really got some character development this episode.
I'm actually wondering if she was going to be Huntschief much longer at this point, it seemed more like Silentstalk might have taken her place. Though it could just be that Silentstalk is his favorite. I'm wondering if she might be carrying his cubs.

The detail in this show... in the wild when a lioness is alone they will somtimes grow a mane to ward off male lions. They can do this also when they’re in a pride of only females where one will grow the mane to keep away males. Notice how the pride lionesses have no tufts of hair on their heads? But the pride less do? It’s because if this. This also makes the relationship between hover and nothing an actual thing that can happen in certain lioness prides

I’m rewatching this episode. And when Hover is sitting on the tree, farleap makes EVERYTHING about herself. Blaming nothing for her injury, and only thinking about how she was impacted by it, she completely disregards the fact that their mother CONSTANTLY bashes nothing for her injury, she throws out the idea that nothing can hardly walk. She says their mother’s attention was on nothing, but she acts like she hates nothing, she’s proud of her perfect daughter but not once does she say she’s proud of nothing for protecting herself from a full grown mane.
I noticed it too. Look, it's valid to be jealous of your mother's fixation on another sibling, but Nothing has it genuinely worse. It's no competition, but Farleap did great at her huntress assessment, earned the praise of the Pride, became a symbol of a proper huntress, she has a sister with whom she has a good relationship with... meanwhile, Powerstrike is fixated on Nothing only because she got injured and failed her huntress assessment. She sees what she _could_ have been and not what she _is._ Nothing was the punching bag of the Pride and had to rely on them to stay alive despite being an adult. Farleap should learn to get over her jealousy. I've been jealous myself, and it's hard to get over it, but it's no excuse to be an a-hole.
With that said, I don't dislike her character. I hope we see more of her and some development in season 2, which I'm guessing isn't cancelled. It's a decently written series, with great high points, an intriguing plot, and interesting characters and lore.

Before I hated almost every lion in this show so far apart from hover and fire because of how they treated nothing, I've gained new respect for farleap because I never knew that she was basicly jealous of nothing and it made me happy to see her admit to that at the start but I also felt bad for her :( my respect for powerstrike was like 2% at the start, but when she said that she stood with her huntresses and basicly everything else she said made my respect for her got to 100% :>>
