Welcome from recommended videos TH-camrs ----- This is the Grand Finals of the biggest 1v1 tournament the Company of Heroes community has ever had. We love CoH2 and treat it as though it's a competitive game worth playing. This tourney was a huge crowdfunded two day live event in Manchester England on September 15th and 16th 2018. So many incredible matches from this tournament (Playlist th-cam.com/play/PL5Gq-kPFBcWF8NW9r1HtxeSKSGTEYze7c.html ) ----- This is the Grand Finals it's 11pm the players and the casters (myself and my friend Stormless) are all very tired but hyped up - what happens next is an incredible and dramatic ordeal as both players go the full distance. Enjoy!
Coh2 is years old. There is plenty of casts, imperialdane is one of them and i recommend a watch. Coh2 is probably the most interesting RTS, as its much less klickfest then SC2
Honestly, This is the most enjoying type of games to watch Pro's play. I have watched some other games I have enjoyed too, but this was really good (althought I didnt watch all 3 hours of it)
Great content. I've been in CoH2 for so long but never knew watching this tournament would be so god damn amazing! I learned so much and thank you for the awesome content. Please never stop making videos! These are absolutely glorious matches.
The final tank battle in that second game was something epic indeed. It was like i was watching a movie. You guys were casting the tank battle in fury basically.
@@sergeeduardodegernier5195 Plus Pacific would fit in well with the other games, being the same era. It would make it a WW2 trilogy. Also they could also bring over a bunch of the old maps and all the old teams. Would be awesome.
WOW! That first overtime gain was insane. Literally 400 to 75 victory points and somehow talisman pulls it back. Really shows how powerful veterancy is on tanks
SPOILERS explanation of double elimination. OK so because it's a double elimination tournament every player must lose two matches to be eliminated. Talisman has not lost a match yet and is unbeaten at the start of the Grand Finals. Luvnest already got beaten by Talisman earlier in the tourney which sent him down the lower bracket. So Luvnest winning the first Bo3 here gives Talisman his first loss and triggers a second match. This effectively makes the Grand Finals two Bo3s.
Thank you for the explanation. However, I must say it did seem counterintuitive that Luvnest won the lower bracket, then won 2-1 against Talisman in the upper bracket final, AND STILL had to .. play Talisman again? The idea of a double-bracket is to earn another shot by winning the lower bracket. Luvnest won that lower bracket so how does Talisman get another shot? There was no lower bracket to win anymore. Do other double-bracket tournaments do this in their finals as well, in other games? What about the OCF tournament in CoH2? I'm not bickering. I genuinely don't know (I started playing CoH2 during the ESL era).
It didn't' seem counter-intuitive if you understand that it's double elimination every one has to lose two matches to be eliminated. Talisman beat Luvnest 2-1 in the Upper Bracket Final to send Luvnest down to the lower bracket. Talisman is unbeaten at the time of the Grand Final, do you think it would be fair to Talisman if after all that Luvnest could just beat him once and win GCS2? In OCF AmiPolizeiFunk wanted to do double elimination but was wary of this concept for the grand final, so what they they made it best of five, and they gave Aimstrong pick of faction AND map in game 1 calling it "winners bracket advantage". This was to get round the problem I explained above. Two things here if we'd done that Talisman still would have won having won 3-2 over the course of the Grand Final so the result is the same. Secondly I actually think that's just as convoluted, in fact possibly more so. As soon as you get your head around the double elimination concept I think it works really well when you employ it at every stage of the tourney. I don't see that aspect as faulted even slightly, the only aspect I wish we'd done better is anticipating that all the matches would go so long.
Fair enough. I hope Luvnest was cool with it. And you didn't answer the main question (whether this is common practice in other double bracket tourneys). But I checked for myself and it seems so. Thanks for the quality entertainment and keep up the good work.
@@WorldCitizen333 yes it is common practice in almost any esport/sport that does double elimination style brackets. Because otherwise you would get punished for not losing before the Grand final while everyone got an extra life. NCAA college baseball does this for their post season tourney, StarCraft does this also for their group stages which is double elimination while the knockout is single elimination. Very common practice.

Dumbass I've played none of these games but you're an annoying hypocritical fanboy and anybody can see that. Go play your low budget game all you want just stop rubbing it in peoples faces. Fuck you, fuck league, fuck men of war, fuck company of heroes.
