i’ve been trying to get used to fundamentals as of now so i can better my skills when it comes to more difficult concepts. drawing boxes and others shapes can be boring but i see some improvement at least
yeah that can be tough, a little fun I allow myself after perspective practices is using those boxes for something else, the last time i filled in the boxes with just random objects like dices, keys or trees :D
@@Chommang can u please explain how do u know how to draw that circle that is on the side of the head? how do u know when to cut it i cannot figure it out its always wrong
I draw everyday. I draw wherever I can... all the plain surfaces..my notebooks...even on tissue paper and bills too. And it's true drawing everyday improved me a lot.
I draw EVERYTHING that comes to mind, and sometimes I make up new characters or insparational drawings that motivate and encourage me to get through hard times.
I draw every single day, and I love your videos mate! Great breakdowns that have helped me loads in just getting down a way to layout the human body in more a manner that works for me. Keep it up!
Ive always liked to draw. I drew a lot of things in my sketchbook but I’ve had a block for a few months…maybe even a year. I just can’t seem to shake it off, I keep procrastinating and thinking very negatively about my skills and my passion. This video gave me a little confidence and motivation. Thank you
I love there are people out there who can do things i cant or i feel like cant because its inspires me to be like them even though i know i wont be but it gives motivation
I'm trying but also struggling to progress. I'm giving it all before the end of the year as I plan to stop chasing this dream if I don't manage to progress anymore. Started in january and because of things I got stuck more times than I wished. Now I got a Barrington Barber's book and is kinda helping me stay consistent
Hey chommang, hope you are doing fine, I practice daily, can you tell me the secret behind these fine line strokes, the line weight, and the line control behind it, because if your line quality is good then your drawing looks much better, also i request you to post more consistently because it helps to figure out what to do whole week. Thanks for your effort !
i draw everyday thanks to you chommang! im on day61, i feel a bit empty now when i dont draw, there's times just too busy as well with some gaps in between where a day or two couldnt draw just due to overwhelming day and life stuff, though im a bit stuck on a comfort zone that im trying to expand beyond is the current challenge
I’m trying to get back into the habit of drawing again and your videos are a reminder to pick up my pencil! I try to draw along but still relearning the basics after so long out of practice 😅
I tend to draw almost every day. Mostly I practice on what I need to so I can get better, but I also some days just draw what I feel like. It's good to just draw what you want instead of practicing 24/7 as it's supposed to be a fun activity at the end of the day. I don't force myself to do it.
im finally back at drawing 3 days ago. i really wanna try your way coz i feel like it makes drawing easy (i used to draw faces using lots of measurements which is so tiring!) did 2 day streak of drawing faces... but today i feel drained so i dont have drawing. hopefully, tomorrow i get to draw. thank you, chommang-nim❤
Hi chommang, can you make a video on digital and physical art books that you use or take inspiration from, or you can just name them, it would be really helpful.
I've been following you for a bit now and I can say that I love what you do and the values you convey. I've been an amateur artist for so long, I want to develop my skills seriously now but I really struggle to enjoy drawing with a reference like you do, I'm a lot more into imagination. But I know it will limit my skills. Have you some tips to help me enjoy drawing from reference ?
i started my own daily draw challenge, got a little 4x6 book and im about 2 months into it. some days are quick doodles other days i put more effort but im seeing improvement
I draw really infrequently and in bursts. Few months ago, I realised that I am a story teller first, everything second. I do not draw because I genuinely like to draw, but because I want to put my story into paper to better visualise them. It's okay if I don't enjoy the process much and look forward to the finished piece, but that's okay, there is no correct way, only the right way for you.
yes, every day i draw . Sometimes I even get up at 3am to draw when I have to go to work at 7am. I would like to be stronger, stronger, stronger like you Chomang. for now I am learning female proportions but what gives me problems with it is that I can draw any pose I wanted, it always messes up when I draw the movements and in addition I do not understand human perspective yet? 😑😔
I've been consistently drawing for about 8 years now, usually once a year. Ahh, there was one year where I drew twice so I have 9 pages of sketchbook filled
Wish I could buy now that I’m 8 grade now. I have should actually be focusing on my work and I don’t have time anymore for drawing unless it the weekend but then I’m using doing homework. I do need to focus on my work I want to be a surgeon or a nurse and I wish I could follow drawing but it won’t pay and I love the practice of medicine. So I love watching others draw, I’ll occasionally draw here and there but it’s difficult now
Usually when I want to start drawing, many ideas come to me, but I feel afraid because my painting might not be beautiful, so I end up not drawing anything. 🤝🏻
What i do is that I learn quite a bit on a certain subject(for a recent example, faces of anime girls), I then get suddenly become much better on that subject then I just draw whatever I want (sometimes)implementing my new knowledge(this could be weeks to months). I just repeated this for like 1.5 years now lol, sure it’s kinda lazy but I progress in a steady pace and I don’t get burnt out. Another thing I forgot to mention is that I still learn new bits and pieces throughout those weeks and months of doing whatever I want so it doesn’t get bland👍
pinterest is my best friend in these times, whenever i question myself what to draw? i open pinterest and i have thousands of drawings to make, btw love your art and i usually draw with you or rewatch your old videos. =)
Hey ,first of all i would like to thank you ❤ i had watched a lot of videos to improve my anatomy but nothing worked finally a your videos helped me alot , i liked the way you drew things that there is no such a rule just drew it freely And most of them were female figures , And i also want to improve male figures , could u please make a video on male figures 😻
Actually from a professional drawing everyday can result into artist block for some or most. There are videos with people staying this. I have gotten this when doing so myself. Giving yourself 2-3 days off can reset your creating mind.
I usually draw every day or when I can. The most important thing is to make things fun when you're doing studies. For example: portrait drawing is very hard for me so it's not fun, but I want to become good at it. What I do is to study eyes, noses, mouths, the cranium which are more digestible things to study. It's way easier to draw portraits when you have some mastery over the structures. I lost my PC so I drew very little on paper for over 5 months. It was not a good time lemme tell ya. Now that I'm back at it, I feel like I forgot so much and became so rusty. However, I make sure I don't stress myself over it too much as I will slowly get back to where I was before. So the key point is that if you want to study something but it's hard or boring for you, just take a step back and bring it to a level where it's not too hard or too easy, but it's fun to do. For me, drawing on paper with just a pen or pencil isn't that fun so I didn't draw much during that time and drawing materials are expensive. Imo, having fun is the single most important aspect of drawing
I always love your drawings. They always look easy to be drawn, but actually not when I try myself 😀. Chommang, are you an illustrator? Or do you have sonething else to do for your living? I really love drawing but I can't draw very often due to my work which consume most of my time and energy.
I promised myself to do it, but school drains my energy and I play videogames to refill it, leaving no time for art. Maybe... I should change it so that I get energy from art instead of videogames...
I don't draw but I like to watch others draw and sometimes it seems to me that it is easy, although I know that it is not so at all. It's funny that I come across videos for people who draw, but I don't mind
Usually i draw once a month
Same. Once in a full moon
Once, every eclipse
Once every blue moon
once every blood moon
Once every supermoon 😂😂
I usually draw once a hundred year.
Good hobby.
How old are you? 🤣🤣
😅😅
I haven't drawn for 3 months now maybe after this video I'll likely reignite that passion
Your new passion will also ignite a fire in everyone! Over time, I hope others' passions will reignite yours as well! :)
I am an art teacher in school, so I draw every day and you are my teacher.😊
I draw randomly mostly with characters because I find ideas which makes me do it
Great idea!!
I have started drawing since a few months ago and have tried to stay consistent even during school, its really fun and your videos have helped a lot!
i’ve been trying to get used to fundamentals as of now so i can better my skills when it comes to more difficult concepts. drawing boxes and others shapes can be boring but i see some improvement at least
Great! The boring basics will always help improve your skills!! :)

What to draw everyday, that's a serious question indeed
I like to watch my favorite TV shows, and when a scene I want to draw comes up, I pause and sketch it. :)
I draw anime carectars ;)
I space out and 'ah! That's a good idea' draw it, it's crap, internally cry for a few days and repeat.
Nothing specific, u can draw whatever u like 🤷🏽♀️.
@@ChommangThat’s a creative idea, good thinking.
And thanks for sharing.
Man the day i saw his arts i got inspired by him , i started continuing my sketch and drawing daily , most of my sketch are of his tutorial

Yay! A new video! A lengthy one this time🎉
I think this video will be among the top five longest ones I've made.:)
I used to. Its been hard getting back on it.
Do you always go through these steps (making circles, etc) or do you sometimes, just draw the figures straight out?
it looks ssooo easy when you do it, like your not even trying it feels like
I draw everyday but I finished a drawing once in a blue moon 😂 Nice video tho! It was very relaxing!
