I’ve gone through different MPCs throughout the years. I literally can’t start a beat without one. If a fire broke out in my house I’m grabbing my MPC before jumping out the window! 😂
What’s crazy is how you answered a question that you didn’t even know I was about to ask you!!!! This is why you’re my Man, Yo!!!!!! I sampled something that I wanted to change the tempo to. My plan was to change the tempo up a few bpm’s. Thanks for your videos and community
@@Schemez-16vhiphopbeatz such a small feature that is overlooked, but used in almost every beat that I put together. Thank you for taking your time and sharing your input.
I’ll have to try that. That reminds me of what we used to do with Recycle 2 and the MPC 2000xl. It would add a tail to the sample. That is awesome. I have to try this with my studio 2 and my laptop.
Your video is so dope and insightful. Question I’m a MPC X user and I was wondering which course should I go with the MPC live 2 course or the MPC one course? And does your course explain ghost kicks and effects?
I'm definatly not new to beatmaking but I seam to struggle chopping loops with mpc live, I get that there is a few factors within a sample making it not ideal to chop but I wanna know how to still get those hard to loop chops. I'd like to see a video about when even you struggle to chop a perfect loop and explain why some samples are either bad or what you do to make a difficult sample loop. There's a ton of techniques I try in these situations but I don't always have success and it frustrates me severely 😢 I seldomly had these issues in a daw but I want to use mpc standalone only nowadays. Is it my headphones??? Or is it the mpc how it analysis the audio wave? Looks so different than in a daw
I love matching samples. Change the bpm to what I want and loop multiple samples together then in another track chop a sample for certain parts . It’s so much
I know chopping loops doesn't have to be perfect but i try to chop perfect. Some samples seam to be very hard to find perfect loops, I resorted to chopping out same loop like 5 or 6 times with slightly different start n end points. Also I know and can make any of them work but I try to not have to, wanting to get extremely perfect loops if it's possible only resorting to other techniques if I absolutely can't get a perfect loop... still I want to get perfect loop not just close and make it work... It's definatly my sample selection most times but I want to get good at those advanced techniques to try when chopping difficult samples. Should I focus more on perfect lengths? Or focus more on perfect transients to the beat? Or focus more on starting point of the note that begins before the beat? I try all, sometimes it loops good but isn't on time, other times it's on time but don't loop well because cutting off the beginning of a sound, or other times I offset the loop so beginning and end of a sound is smooth but off beat. sometimes depending on sample, one of these will work, other times I can't find nothing to work unless doing tedious editing and sometimes even with tedious editing I can't get perfect loops.. Some projects I just don't have anything perfect, sometimes not even on bpm but I don't wanna do that crazy stuff, I don't have to loop something but I want to alot of times and can't seam to get it to work on difficult samples.
what i usually do is chop in quarternotes, guess the bpm, record it and if its way off i then just adjust the temp until its a perfect loop. tap tempo has not been very accurate for me, but maybe im just not a good tempo tapper 🤣 great video again man! 🙏🙏
A bit off topic but I been waiting for a new vid so I could get your attention.😅 will I be able to use a Neve 88m interface with a MPC.. It is class compliant with an iPad but does not specify anything about MPC.. I want those Neve preamps when recording into MPC standalone like when I hit the Skate Park on the beach & just record some random rappers on my beats. I wanna do everything standalone with the best quality I can get 🙆🏻♂️😅... Oh & by the way... Your channel Rocks 🔥🔥🔥
@@G.C.D4Real yo, thank you so much for taking the time with this. Dude, that would be so awesome to hook up that Niamh 88 with an MPC, sounds like such a killer combo. If it’s class compliance, I see why not and it should work. My goodness now you have me wanting to try this set up out myself. seriously would turn your MPC into a killer powerhouse.
As a newb I'm always tryna know what BPM I'm working with or aiming for. I try not to focus on it too much when I'm chopping, but at some point those chops will become a loop so I can't ignore the tempo completely.
@@malobeats No problem. I fight it too. Tail lenght its a loop function for the tones and waves. End margin precise the gaps by ready loops. Good luck bro
The tail function is useful, however, it won’t be saved in the project once you save the project and then close it and open it again. I don’t know why it happens… 😢
@@abelchristian951 yes you could find that in sample editor within the process tab and get an automatic detection from there as long as you’ve selected your bars
I thought it was absurd to abandon the previous workflow. Cutting the independence of having different tracks in the sequences and killing the track mute is a crime... It's destroying something that worked perfectly well.
Very disappointed that I had to downgrade because 3.0 doesn't have track mutes....My past tracks don't play correctly in 3.0 ....All the drops and track mutes are totally gone.....All my tracks will have to be reprogrammed to fit 3.0

1:24 depends on what inspiration kicks in. If I can hear the chops ahead of time then no. If I intentionally want to loop then yes.
