A good reason for the plate not to break into 3 pieces is to keep it away from the waves. The one-piece surfboard that's why it was invented, to withstand the forces of the waves. I'm wrong?
Impressive board, but I don't think the inflate time verses setup time for this, maybe 3 minuets faster would be a big selling point to spend near 3 times the amount verses an inflatable. frankly if you have a car then you can plug into the 12v with an electric pump.
