      Yes, the MRT system with the map make it easier to navigate around the city. Just need to know which station to disembark and exit.

    Very informative, just what I needed. I have a layover of 9 hours and would like to explore atleast 4 tourist attractions - Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and Merlion Park - Please advise on routes :)

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would recommend taking the MRT to Raffles Place, then walk to the Merlion Park. After Merlion Park, you can just walk over to the Marina Bay Sands. After doing some shopping or lunch, you can walk over to the Gardens by the Bay. From there, you can either walk to the Singapore Flyer or take the MRT from Bayfront MRT to Promenade MRT. And walk towards Singapore Flyer.

    I'm just curious, are all MRT lines one-way or two-way? If I take the EW line from Changi Airport - Tanah Merah station until EW8 and transfer to CC9 at Payah Lebar station, does it go directly to CE1 Bayfront - Gardens By The Bay?

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The MRT lines is 2-ways, you just need to go to the opposite side of your train at the same platform, when you want to the opposite direction. In case there are multiple platforms, you need to go to different levels.
      When heading to CE1 Bayfront, you need to make sure that the train you are taking from CC9 Paya Lebar is heading towards Marina Bay direction, and not heading towards Dhoby Ghaut direction.

      Hi! From Changi Airport to Havelock, there will be 2 transfers on the platforms that you need to take.
      1. CG2-Changi Airport to EW4-Tanah Merah (Green East-West Line)
      2. Within the Tanah Merah station, transfer to another platform (Green East-West Line) heading to City Hall.
      3. EW4-Tanah Merah to EW16-Outram Park (Green East-West Line)
      4. Within the Outram Park station, transfer to another platform (Brown Thomson East Coast Line) TE17-Outram Park.
      5. TE17-Outram Park to TE16-Havelock.
      Hope it help...

      Hi, your route is fine too (But not Woodlands North Station).
      Another route is Changi Airport > Tanah Merah > City Hall > Woodlands MRT (Not Woodlands North)
      Once you reach Woodlands MRT station (not Woodlands North), you can either take a bus 950 straight to JB. (Remember you will need to clear immigration along the ride)
      Or to avoid road traffic, you can take bus 856, 903 & 911 from Woodlands MRT station to Woodlands train Checkpoint, then take a train to JB. But you need to purchase your train ticket online first. (shuttleonline.ktmb.com.my/Home/Shuttle)
      Hope it help.

    How to go from Changi Airport Terminal 2 to Little India?
    Please guide.

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are 2 options.
      1. From Changi Airport to Expo station CG1/DT35, within the station transfer platform to the Blue Downtown line DT35 Expo. Then stay on the train all the way to DT12 Little India station. (Required 1 transfer, maybe a longer route)
      2. From Changi Airport to Tanah Merah station EW4, within the station transfer platform to the Green East-West line EW4. From EW4 take train to Bugis station EW12/DT14, within the station transfer platform to the Blue Downtown line DT14. Then take the train to DT12 Little India station. (Required 2 transfers, if carrying luggages can be troublesome but still manageable as station come with lift)

I mean, it is unlimited, or I will be deducted the amounts of each trip when I leave the station of those 10$ deposit each time I travel and I have to recharge it from time to time?

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you don't have to determine the fare if you buy the Singapore tourist pass. The $10 is actually the rental deposit of the card. You will get back the $10 no matter how many ride you take (unlimited), it won't be deducted from the $10 deposit. The unlimited usage only apply within the pass duration period.

      Little India after 11pm, most of the shops will be closed by then. But Mustafa Centre, a shopping mall in Little India will still be open until 2am.
      From Changi Airport to Chinatown, you need to transfer 1 time, at the Expo station, just 1 stop after Changi Airport. Then take the "Blue" Downtown line straight to Chinatown station DT19.

      The route from Little India to Changi is about 32mins by train. The last train from Little India is 1157pm. But do note that you need to transfer at the Expo station. And the last train at Expo station to Changi is about 1153pm. So you will miss the train if you take the last train from Little India. So i think you need to take the train earlier.
      Here's the timing for Little India - www.sbstransit.com.sg/first-train-last-train
      Here's the timing for Expo - journey.smrt.com.sg/journey/station_info/expo/first-and-last-train/

      I think option 1 better, but really depend on when the concert end and how early you can leave the concert.
      Or you leave your luggage at the Changi Airport storage and then go to the concert.

    Hey, I have a question because of which I am really confused. My question is, can you take a train at a station that goes to both the next and the previous station? For example, Can I take a train at Bayfront (DT16) that can go to Promenade (DT15)? If yes, how? If not, how else can I go there? The Rome2Rio app says that it possible, but I feel very confused. Also, to go to Changi AIrport, you need to take another train at Tanah Merah station. Which train do I take to get there? Because all the other station trains go the other side. Please Help.

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can go from Bayfront (DT16) to Promenade (DT15), DT means Downtown Line which is the dark blue color code. If you look at the MRT map, there is also the Bayfront (CE1) to Promenade (CC4), both means Circle Line which is the orange color. Both lines can reach Promenade, but take note that after Promenade, both line goes to different destinations. You can choose to take either the DT or the CE lines.
      If you see 2 different color lines at 1 station, that mean the trains stop at these 2 stations but the destination station might be different.
      Hope it help, if not like me know.

    • @faiyazaman4080
      @faiyazaman4080 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simplifytravel Ah, I see. So it is possible to travel from Bayfront(DT16) to Promenade (DT15) on either the Downtown Line or Circle Line, and it doesn't matter whether you are gonig to the next or previous station. Am I correct? If I am, that means that I can go both from Bayfront (DT16) to Chinatown (DT19) as well as from Bayfront(DT16) to Promenade (DT15)? As well as from Changi Airport to Tanah Merah to Bugis on the EW line, then transfer to the DT line and travel to Little India, make another transfer on the NE line and go to Farrer Park (Where my hotel is)? Also when I reach Changi Airport, can I buy the singapore tourist pass before entering, or do I need to enter then pay for one?

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      - For Bayfront to Promenade, Yes, it doesn't matter where you are going to after or the previous station.
      - Bayfront (DT16) to Chinatown (DT19) as well as from Bayfront(DT16) to Promenade (DT15), Yes, you can, all the station goes both ways, to and from or forward/backward, just take note of the platform you are on. As one platform will take you to the next station, while another platform take you to the previous station. Don't worry, it is clearly shown above the station door or a standing sign typically close to the escalator.
      - Changi Airport to Tanah Merah to Bugis on the EW line, then transfer to the DT line and travel to Little India, make another transfer on the NE line and go to Farrer Park, Yes, correct.
      - From the MRT map, those icon that stick together are the transfer station. While some need to just tap out and tap in again at the same station. You can refer to the map legend.
      - For the Singapore Tourist Pass, you can only purchase it after you enter Singapore. Depending on which pass you intend to buy, the "Singapore Tourist Pass" can be purchase at the Changi Airport MRT station, just before you board the train. The booth or machine is just beside the station escalator.
      - If you don't mind a foreign charge to your oversea credit or debit card, you can just use it for MRT or local bus ride. Just tap your card. You can check with your bank first on the charge.

    • @faiyazaman4080
      @faiyazaman4080 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simplifytravel Alright, thank youu I think how the MRT system works now. About the Singapore Tourist Pass, I intend to buy the 3-day pass with the refundable deposit, as its cheaper. SO if I want to buy that, I will find the booth beside the station esscalator, so I need to buy it before I enter the MRT station?
      Also I had a few questions about the tourist places, I heard that Merlion Park is currently closed? I was thinking that it would be better to explore Gardens by the Bay 2 hours before sunset, enjoy the lightshow, then explore the Promenade and Helix Bridge.
      As well as that, in Sentosa, the 2 main types of transport needed are the Express and the Bach Shuttle, right? The Express will take me to Beach station, from where I can be taken to Siloso Point, Fort Siloso and Palawan Beach?

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. For the pass, Yes, you need to buy it before entering the gantry gate. Don't worry, the booth is at the MRT station, just before you enter the gantry gate, behind the escalator. Remember, the booth is near the Terminal 2 side, not the Terminal 3 side. But if you happen to enter by the Terminal 3 side, don't worry, there is also the Automated STP Kiosks that sell the pass.
      2. Yes, the Merlion Park is closed for maintenance until dec 13.
      3. Gardens by the Bay light show is free, the surrounding areas has a few attractions too. Maybe the Marina Barrage Green Roof, big open field where you can have a small picnic and enjoy the sunset. There is also the Satay by the bay where you can have the hawker food experience.
      4. Yes, the Sentosa express only stop at these 4 stations, Sentosa Station (VivoCity Shopping Mall), Waterfront Station (Resorts World Sentosa, and Universal Studios Singapore™), Imbiah Station and Beach Station. Then you can take the shuttle bus from Beach station to various stops like the Siloso Point and Palawan Beach.

      The children height play a major part here.
      I will quote from this gov.website - www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltagov/en/who_we_are/statistics_and_publications/Connect/parentsonPT.html
      "#3 Get your child a concession card and opt to use SimplyGo when tapping into the gantry!
      Children ride for free, no questions asked-if they are below the height of 0.9m and accompanied by a fare-paying adult. If your child is between 0.9m and 1.2m tall, they can qualify for free rides as long as they are (i) below seven years old; and (ii) not studying in a primary school yet. Simply pick up a Child Concession Card to prove it or pay the full student fare.
      If any station staff ask, you can refer to this website.
