First time seeing Jozef Chen in GI
Me too! He didn’t bring a gi with him, but since Sasaki-san was there, it sort of happened naturally/organically. He borrowed a gi from the dojo and took the opportunity to practice with Sasaki-san in gi! It is great to explore grappling and martial arts beyond the confines of compeition rule set.
@MicJiuJitsu I agree. Glad seeing this match even if it's just a fun sparring.
Fascinating, thanks so much for uploading. Sasaki is legendary for his newaza, but seemed fairly ordinary here. Wish he’d done some throws.
This was a very “soft and kind” rolling by both. This was also a week or so before Kodokan-hai tournament for Sasaki-san, which is an important tournament for Japanese judokas competing for place on national team. Sasaki-Sam’s usual practice even with us in BJJ is a lot tougher!
Also, he gets top level judo practice at his usual judo place, so he works on his newaza at this dojo. However, every once in a while, he shows his throws here, and indeed they are amazing and powerful!
Very nice to see them rolling. Jozef's tripod base on top is very impressive
Yeah, after rolling with him, I have gotten very interested in the details and started practicing his tripod passing style!
@@MicJiuJitsuI notice a lot of hip flicking when he finds tripod, very fire.
This video was incredibly valuable for us as Judokas! Thank you very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Never expected to see them together
I konw! I felt fortunate to be there when it happened!
Always cool watching Jozef train. He's so efficient.
You can tell his skills even when he is rolling lightly!
Turtle escape at 3:00 was really fun to watch!
Sasaki-san definitely has some unique movements, that is nonconventional in jiu jitsu and it looks so cool!
Love to see more gi from Jozef !
Though I don’t see him confining himself to just No Gi, as his scope of interest in learning seems to span beyond concept of Gi or No Gi, I think that he just naturally concentrates on No Gi at the moment.
Awesome footage
Thanks!
jo seems more human in the gi
Yes, aside from his obcious top-level skills, I found him to be such a genuine nice guy. It is so mcuh fun to be with someone who expresses joy, passion, and enthusiasm in learning/exploring jiu jitsu!
Beautiful
Nice back and forth and tripod passing.
Missed the wristlock at 4:08 though. 😃🤙
Yes! It is great to see them having so much fun!
Bring in Takanori Nagase and Shohei Ono in here. I want to see their newaza against Jozef🔥
Haha! That would be the dream… to make it normal to have top judo and BJJ people cross training to learn from each other.
The kid is as tough as they come. Good to see him in the Gu for a change.
I think he is good in any wardrobe😊
Takeshi Sasaki is a high level judo player, as high level as they come
Yes! He kindly launched me with an uchimata during practice and I still remember the feel of floating in the air! Of course, he had perfect control and allowed me to do the ukemi perfectly.
Not really
Thanks! Everyone has different views of "one of the best", but I feel that Sasaki-san is one of them. He inspires a lot of people.
@@dhimankalita1690 Lol rage bait
One day I want to stop being weak and be like you, strong and powerful.
Yeah, we all strive to be at peace with ourselves, I think.
Great to see him in the Gi. Did you also record No Gi videos??
Yes, i do have some of videos of No Gi rounds, but the footage was of the entire dojo during those rounds (just so I can study them later for myself). I may upload bits and pieces of them in future videos!
OMG
Can you upload the nogi rounds?
Thanks for the interest!
I might do it if enough people show interest!
@@MicJiuJitsuinterested! 😃🙏
@@MicJiuJitsuinterested, please upload!
Osssss !!!
I’m glad that you liked it!
This spot is in Kamakura right?
This is a Carpe Diem dojo in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo. There is another Carpe Diem dojo in Kamakura, which is about 1 hour away by train.
How often does Sasaki train BJJ there?
Of course, his main practice is in judo, but I have been seeing him around Carpe Diem Jiyugaoka more often recently!
you lost about 50 times if this were judo
Yeah, that is what was cool about this roll. There were no rules. They were just sharing knowledge and experience with each other through grappling (in the wide sense of the word)!
