  • Shocking Difference: $100 Room in Philippines vs USA
    In this video I compare $100 rooms in the America with the Philippines. The options in this downtown area in the U.S. were limited, so I booked a room, which had very bad reviews. For $100 in Siargao, Philippines there were great options. This video shows you how much further your money goes in the Philippines vs the USA.

      Lived here for 5 years and have to say it really depends on where you are but generally would say yes. Just don't take public transport in the Philippines if you do try to take a uv the jeepney drivers and some of the buses are super rude and play very filthy language music and will purposely entice you when you try and tell them they can't play that in public with kids on the bus. Generally Philippines is much cheaper and better. I am debating moving back here once I go back to state and save a bit and buy a home here in the Philippines and start a small business but that is a concern given the curroption we will have to figure it out.

    The first room was ok for the price, but the area is tabu. Thus, the price is low, and they can not afford to maintain it. The main fault is that the local government administration is irresponsible.
    This video is not just interesting. It has a bit of intrigue while being informative. A nice comparison of Philippine country life and Alabama country life might be cool, especially for folks that have preconcieved views of both. Thanks again. You are still very creative.

Us Filipinos are poor, but rich in love, abundant smiles and the hospitality is excellent, mostly most pinays are loyal, loving and very devoted mother and wife. God bless! Do you want to know the unbiased truth about the Philippines? What your friend said is not entirely impossible. I mean, let's be real, this could happen anywhere around the world in this modern day. But the trick with the Philippines is knowing the places you ought to visit limiting your exploration and having some trustworthy locals tell you where to and where not to go. As long as you go to these right places, it may not be a first-world country experience, but the warmth of the people, and quality of life it gives you. It's the vacation dream of everyone who wishes to win the lottery. Except, you don't need to win the lottery.

    When you were in Birmingham, you were on the wrong side of town, the east and south side are going to be the nicer places to be. Me and my Filipina wife live there and where we are is nice. You did the right thing getting out of that side of town. I like your content, keep putting out your videos, Barry & Aming

    I'm a Filipino nurse still thinking of migrating to the US. I already have relatives in Chicago, IL and Gastonia, NC. Is it really that bad in the US? Food prices, security and inflation?

    • @travelescapesOFFICIAL
      @travelescapesOFFICIAL  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      There are very nice areas too. But inflation is definitely a problem, cost of living can be very expensive. And for crime, certain areas in many cities are quite dangerous. I definitely feel safer in the Philippines than a U.S. city, personally. But if you get outside the cities you can find safer areas. It’s such a large, diverse country, it really depends on the area. But cost of living is high everywhere in comparison to the Philippines

      @@mr.m7002 I am a Filipino travel nurse here in the US and had been around for a while now. It's not really that bad here in the US. You see, this country is a size of a continent and what you see on TV is not an accurate representation of the US.
      Here, I love the country coz the people are much nicer and friendlier than in the cities. I had experienced random strangers who were genuinely kind to offer help when I needed one. I remember a nurse that have just arrved US from Jamaica, and I was given the task to help her find an apartment to stay. My car all of a sudden would not start, so I told her I'm gonna go look for help at a gas station nearby. She almost panicked at what I was to do and protested, "ARE YOU CRAZY??? THAT'S NOT SAFE!". Shortly I returned with a guy who checked my battery, fixed my problem and gave us warm wishes. She said she was surprised that one would come and help. So I said to her, "Welcome to America."
      I have to say it also depends on where you are in the US because the cultures are different as you go from one region to another. Indeed there is a reason why they have a phrase "southern hospitality". When you experience the different parts of the country, you'll know what I mean.
      I stay away from metropolitan areas. As a rule, even in the Philippines, one has to exercise extra caution in cities. As for inflation, it is much more expensive in the US. We do suffer from inflation in the Philippines too, fortunately the USD that we earn goes a long way there. But if you know how to live below your means, not accumulate debt and not be seduced by overconsumerism, you should be fine in the US. Filipinos are known for their "diskarte" and hardwork, so those traits will make you thrive when you come here.
      I have to say hotel rates here in the US are a rip off. Ludicrous! And the services are aweful. I get a luxurious resort accommodation while vacationing in the Philippines for the price that they charge in the US for a cheap econotel.
