- Shocking Difference: $100 Room in Philippines vs USA
In this video I compare $100 rooms in the America with the Philippines. The options in this downtown area in the U.S. were limited, so I booked a room, which had very bad reviews. For $100 in Siargao, Philippines there were great options. This video shows you how much further your money goes in the Philippines vs the USA.
I'm from Alabama USA and have been going to the Philippines since 1992. Been married to a Filipina for 30 years. And I can for sure say the Philippines is much safer and friendlier than the USA
I agree to that..
Lived here for 5 years and have to say it really depends on where you are but generally would say yes. Just don't take public transport in the Philippines if you do try to take a uv the jeepney drivers and some of the buses are super rude and play very filthy language music and will purposely entice you when you try and tell them they can't play that in public with kids on the bus. Generally Philippines is much cheaper and better. I am debating moving back here once I go back to state and save a bit and buy a home here in the Philippines and start a small business but that is a concern given the curroption we will have to figure it out.
Thank you man, but please don't go or live in Tondo Manila, the most dangerous place in Philippines, just for your safety.
agree with that
Most common stories I hear but I don't hate it at all, it's rather sweet by the way. It's just the fact I am overwhelmed that I hear those stories all the time.
Mann being followed by a red camaro in a sketchy area or being followed by an orange cat in a beautiful area of the Philippines. EASY choice!! Thank for another awesome video Jonathan!! Looking forward to the next!
😂 not a tough decision. Thanks for watching Chris!
Agree...
I'll take the orange cat following me.
I'm from England and $100 room here is of better quality in our Birmingham than Birmingham USA.
But I'd rather be in the Philippines
Thanks for the great comparison
Love that the only thing that's stalking you is that feline friend in the Philippines. Definitely a win for 🇵🇭
hahahaha
True if you stayed that room in the Philippines with your friends they would spy on you lol

Carrot is not stalking!! Carrot is actually the supervisor and was just doing a quality check on the couch and making sure the new person staying at the resort keeps out of trouble. 😊
@@kittybunnyfluffle what are you talking about? Where talking about bringing ur sus friends to that room.
A bonus in the Philippines is the hospitality of the people. This is priceless.
Yeah, i visited my aunt on my mother's side of the family which lived in mexico or philipines
Surprisingly most of the Filipinos in cebu speaks fluent english, it was very good there especially because i was able to meet and talk with my cousin who carried me in dayZ ever since, they had ps5 and a gaming pc, they let me play on them, and i was able to go max graphics on most games.
As long as you treat us with the same respect as a human being. A few times I've experienced foreigners treating my co-workers like maids and butlers because of the preconception that we're hospitable to the point of being loyal servants. We're people, not some exotic creatures made to lick the boots of foreigners.

Thats $20 for a Carrot Cat
70$ for the nature, $10 for a warm smile at the reception
hahahahaha... I agree with that price breakdown
In the other hotel: $10 for the black mold, $20 for the stalking red car, $70 for the bearded man experience.
90$ for a carrot cat 5$ for the nature $5 for a warm smile at the reception.
$96, tax included in that.

That red car makes any price too expansive.
On the other hand, that warm welcoming receptionist's smile has no price.

Ive been a Australian expat for over 10yrs and 4 of those was working in the Philippines. My wife is Filipino and we now love in Kuala Lumpur, but Philippines was my favorite place to live and travel. The places to visit and the people make the Philippines the best for me.
Except for the incredible heat.
@BjorgenEatinger if you live here full time and long enough you will get use to it plus I'm Australia, where I was born, and it's 36 to 46 Celsius in summer. For me, Asia is a great place to live and where I will retire will be the Philippines or Thailand.
Thank you so much
Obviously, rooms in the Philippines are so much cheaper than anything in most Western countries. What makes these places memorable, though, are the accommodating staff and the regular maintenance. This place is quite pricey for a local Filipino, but it delivers on quality, so you actually get your money's worth.
Siargao has become pricey. There is an island across which is quieter.
i went to boracay twice then found out they closed it as all thousands, tens of thousands of toilets in hotels, cafes, slums all flushed right into the water i was swimming in.....untreated, yea, thats they philippines, your food could be rats, they do not care and will steal you blind because they just need to feed their huge huge families. I live about 40 miles north of Birmingham and commute to Hoover for work. Locally, we don’t go to the city itself. There are some suburbs that are much nicer and safer. I also have a fiancé in Luzon and was there earlier this summer and the comparison is for sure accurate. This is the example I share when folks that don’t know assume the Philippines is a dangerous place. There are dangerous places in every country.

I think the guy driving the red car thinks you are a narc. I'm from the Philippines and have stayed in the US during business trips. It is hard to find decent and safe accommodation for $100 a night. Usually, they are at the $300 to $400 range in my experience. I'm surprised you found a clean one for $100. But in the Philippines, even for $60, you can check-in to a 3-star hotel in a safe neighborhood. Accommodation is really affordable in most countries in Southeast Asia.

The comparison demonstrate there is no comparison. One looks like the remnants of a hostile, old and dying world and the other is alive with nature where the people are in relationship to it. The energies that dictate the physical world reveal a stark difference of two civilizations. The richness of living in the Philippines naturally defines what it is to be rich.

Can’t speak for the Philippines but you can get an actual 5-star beach resort room in Thailand during high season for $60-$80 during high season, with a little searching. With a massive breakfast buffet included with both Thai and Western foods.
Thailand is much cheaper than the Philippines.. but in exchange
1. you won't have a hard time with language barrier
2. You won't have so many people around you
3. You will be able to actually relax and enjoy nature
4. Most of the time you'll have the place all to yourself.
Same in the Philippines.
If you go to popular resorts you can get the same price and quality. You just need to be adventurous and not rely on what tourism brochures recommend. Thailand is more popular but it doesn't mean they have better quality. "Cheaper" is relative. I would be willing to spend a little more for a higher quality vacation.
Lol the only thing thailand has more to offer is that if u have fascination with commercialized ladyboys😂😂otherwise its almost the same😂😂

Do you want to know the unbiased truth about the Philippines? What your friend said is not entirely impossible. I mean, let's be real, this could happen anywhere around the world in this modern day. When you were in Birmingham, you were on the wrong side of town, the east and south side are going to be the nicer places to be. Me and my Filipina wife live there and where we are is nice. You did the right thing getting out of that side of town. I like your content, keep putting out your videos, Barry & Aming
That’s interesting. In most cities in the eastern United States, the north and west are usually the best parts of town.
I'd be worried about rabies with the dogs and cats laying about. It's endemic in the Philippines.
The difference between us and Philippines, you get fresh air and a lot amenities, and people are friendly and hospitable. Enjoy your visit here in the Philippines
100 dollars or around 5900 pesos can get me a good hotel room for a night already in the Philippines.
Living in that kind of paradise will most likely add additional 10 years on your life 🧘♂️
Good morning Jonathan!
Nice to see you again.
You better move to Philippines permanently.
Life is more easier there.
Good morning! Yeah, it’s a very enjoyable life there!
Philippines is the best country in this world, the peoples hospitality, cheap food, hotels, items, and there alot of places like Boracay you can visits here, it also a place for good business if you want to stay here for good and married to a beautiful loving Filipina.
That cat must be offering himself as your personal bodyguard for free.😅
You can get great Airbnb’s in the Philippines too. Three bedroom house in Bacolod , AC , two bathrooms. $65 a night
I'm a Filipino nurse still thinking of migrating to the US. I already have relatives in Chicago, IL and Gastonia, NC. Is it really that bad in the US? Food prices, security and inflation?
There are very nice areas too. But inflation is definitely a problem, cost of living can be very expensive. And for crime, certain areas in many cities are quite dangerous. I definitely feel safer in the Philippines than a U.S. city, personally. But if you get outside the cities you can find safer areas. It’s such a large, diverse country, it really depends on the area. But cost of living is high everywhere in comparison to the Philippines
Live in large Filipino community and you’ll feel as if you are in Ph. Examples Daly City, Ca, LA area. Check with other Pinoys in Ph
@ahnonymuz9921 whats funny about it? LA area means all surrounfing area with pockets of Pinoy community
You are a nurse go for it ,earn more money in USA and retire in the Philippines 😇
@@mr.m7002 I am a Filipino travel nurse here in the US and had been around for a while now. It's not really that bad here in the US. You see, this country is a size of a continent and what you see on TV is not an accurate representation of the US.
Here, I love the country coz the people are much nicer and friendlier than in the cities. I had experienced random strangers who were genuinely kind to offer help when I needed one. I remember a nurse that have just arrved US from Jamaica, and I was given the task to help her find an apartment to stay. My car all of a sudden would not start, so I told her I'm gonna go look for help at a gas station nearby. She almost panicked at what I was to do and protested, "ARE YOU CRAZY??? THAT'S NOT SAFE!". Shortly I returned with a guy who checked my battery, fixed my problem and gave us warm wishes. She said she was surprised that one would come and help. So I said to her, "Welcome to America."
I have to say it also depends on where you are in the US because the cultures are different as you go from one region to another. Indeed there is a reason why they have a phrase "southern hospitality". When you experience the different parts of the country, you'll know what I mean.
I stay away from metropolitan areas. As a rule, even in the Philippines, one has to exercise extra caution in cities. As for inflation, it is much more expensive in the US. We do suffer from inflation in the Philippines too, fortunately the USD that we earn goes a long way there. But if you know how to live below your means, not accumulate debt and not be seduced by overconsumerism, you should be fine in the US. Filipinos are known for their "diskarte" and hardwork, so those traits will make you thrive when you come here.
I have to say hotel rates here in the US are a rip off. Ludicrous! And the services are aweful. I get a luxurious resort accommodation while vacationing in the Philippines for the price that they charge in the US for a cheap econotel.
i will not blame you for being scared by that sketchy red car, I like that you are very observant around you..aww carrot is the cutest
Room looks good - extra door is for family sharing just in case🙏… front door d same just double lock both of them! Tropical vibes is deferent and love that outdoor shower bathroom!
Thank you for visiting the Philippines. I hope you are enjoying your visit ❤
I feel uncomfortable when I see you feel uncomfortable in your home country.
I went to the bad area, though. But yes, I was extremely uncomfortable there
I’ll give that city to xi
Dogs and cats chilling is so zen..

In south east asia 100.00 a night can get you a 5 star resort 8 months of the year. 30.00 in Thailand gets you a room like you're philipines place every day of the year.
I think I saw that Red Car in the background of the hotel in the Philippines. Did they follow you?
😂
😂😂😂
It's really nice to be there. Went there few months ago to unwind and disconnect. To bad I never met Carrot :( but it was a pleasant and wonderful experience being there.
