I'm shy, so I've never commented before, but I just want to let you know how much I've enjoyed your videos over the last few years. They've added a bit of cheerfulness and escape as I've lost both my parents and had to adjust to a new life. Now, I'm preparing to move to Kansas and planning to build my dream house on the 525 acre farm I've inherited. Your channel has served as an example of how exiting a life one can build if one takes the time to really enjoy oneself. Merry Christmas!
So sorry for your loss but your new plans sound wonderful. I’m sure if you open your heart and home to many friends, you will soon have many happy occasions in the future.💐🎄🙏🏻
So sad to hear about your loss, but so glad they've left you a project to do in their memory. They made sure you would know how much they loved you, and if you believe like I do, you know they'll always be watching over you as you embark on this next stage of your life on the property they left you.
The last two vlogs have been the funniest in awhile. Thanks for the laughs....and Vivians face when Steph said that wasn't the Philip special 😂. Loved it!!!
Be very careful putting a liquid amber anywhere near the chapel or the chateau - they are notorious for having invasive roots - here in Australia they were a commonly planted street tree until they realised they were causing massive issues with pipes, sidewalks, roads and even foundations of houses nearby.
I was thinking the same thing, I'm also in Australia and grew with a huge one in our yard, the root system is huge and damaging and the tree grows to an incredible height with a very thick trunk.
Davey is one of the most intelligent people I have seen! He knows so much about plans and how to manuever them and grow and just know this is his profession, but such a wealth of information he carrries amazes me! Sorry Gerald is leaving again! We wukk miss him being ther for Christmas, Thought he was staying through Christmas? Guess he has more plans for Christmas elsewhere? I love what Marie does with her festivities of St Lucia! She once gave a history of it all and she wore the crown of lights on her head, and just really enjoyed learning all she was explaining and the dessert she made, and has done it once more!! . Analise is a great hairdresser. You are very lucky to have her right there for you when needed! I would love that. Stephanie your hair looked so beautiful!!! Brian's daughter, did such a cute job with the sayings on his shirt. He is so delightful. Thank you for showing both vlogs. (Love Vivienne, Simon and Isabella ,they are so sweet and Viviene is so very giving of herself to everyone, always enjoy the times they share with us!)
I totally speak English but with all the giggles and laughter, I couldn’t understand a single word of what you guys were saying almost the entire time you were at Vivian’s. However, who cares, it looks like you were having so much fun and having fun with friends is the best part of Christmas!!! ENJOY 🧑🏻🎄🎅🏻
The foxglove tree or jacaranda trees, are stunning and get BIG. They lay down a carpet of pale purple for about one week a year on the ground. But they get HUGE.
My face is frozen into a smile every episode I watch.....there is such joy and love.......wonderful caring people helping each other....it is so nourishing......and the gardeners daughter is so pleased her dad is part of Lalande..........sometimes it brings me to tears of happiness for you all...........
Oh!! Maples are absolutely brilliantly beautiful in the fall. You will appreciate the color at that time of year. Love all your planting. Can’t wait to see it bloom and grow.
I just love seeing you with Vivienne and having a good laugh, what a lovely friend she is. Marie's cookies/buns look just delicious, wish I was there to try one xxx
The reason red maples are all over the west coast cities is that they come in brilliant deep reds, especially in the fall. They are a tender tree so do best on the west coast. Imagine a backdrop of green with splashes of red maple leaf foliage trees. It makes for spectacular falls out here.
Thank goodness someone told you about the LIQUID AMBER. We live in Sydney Australia and I can tell you the roots got into our sewer pipes. Plant away from the chapel. It was a costly expense for us. Love the DIARIES ❤and a MERRY CHRISTMAS from a very hot Sydney
In Western Australia we call the purple flowering tree, Jacaranda and I think it comes from Argentina and Bolivia. Where I live they are planted along many suburban streets and show a beautiful purple canopy during Summer.
Also very popular on east coast Australia. In fact the city of Grafton holds the Jacaranda Festival every Spring. The entire city is ablaze with purple flowers.
Jacaranda are different trees from Pawlonia trees - both are beautiful. I loved seeing Jacaranda trees in Australia. We can grow both Jacaranda and Pawlonia trees where I live.
🎉We have Jacaranda trees in LA too🎉. In fact, got two new ones that just popped up in the back yard this Summer. 💜Love when Mother Nature gives us a freebie. 😊They are quite beautiful. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but don't plant them near a patio, pool, driveway, or street. 🌬First, the flowers blow every where. Second, they also drip a thick sap which can be slick on concrete. Plus, it's not something you want around your outdoor seating🪑 or 🚗cars🚙. Cheers! 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
@@teresacarle294 Davey said they were Pawlonia trees (not Jacaranda which are a different tree). But you would not want Pawlonia trees by a pool because the flowers drop.
Where I come from, Paulownia trees are very leggy and irregular (Davey said "awkward"). And Liquidambar (Sweet Gum) are one of the best trees ever! Especially if you have a non-fruiting variety. The fruits look like sputniks - very spiky.
The trees that Brian the Roofer mentioned (for 'someplace called La La Land') are gorgeous, if only for their bark. I'm glad to see that Amaury is able to handle large pieces of paneling. He's making a remarkable recovery, as is La Lande. There are so many projects unfolding and so much good food that my head is spinning. And yes, blame the egg nog for high spirits. ;)
I enjoy the adventure videos so much. I look forward to watching every night . I love seeing all the craziness in the chateau and all the lovely friends and family . Merry Christmas from West Virginia in the US.
Here in New Hampshire we do have many red maples. They are one of the reasons people visit our area during foliage season. They are stunning in the Autumn. It's nice you have a Beech tree as well. We are losing all our Beech trees in the North East due to Beech bark fungus. It's too late to save them.
What a magical place to be: in your garden's ❤. The Chapel is so beautiful and as you said spectacular I thought it. I have e sense of going back in time.
Jacaranda! We have lots in Australia, stunning purple colour in our Spring/Summer and they can get huge! They also drop the flowers and leaves and make a huge mess but they are beautiful.
Brian's a treasure ❤ It's like you missed the ugly sweater memo Stephanie... LOVE Dave's 😁 (tasteful and festive) Ooooh trees. 😊 Adore Vivienne and Co.😉 First time I've purchased from one of your sponsors; good discount! Thank you 😘 Merry Advents are my favourites!
Jerry, firstly, you are our hero. The cabinets look great, Marie, you look fabulous and cheerful. I love Vivian and her daughter. Fun vlog again. I love Advent.
That was the best ending ever...hilarious! I think Vivienne is so down to earth and has a great sense of humor. 🎉 That Gerry is such a flibbertigibbet and always on the move. I hope Santa and the other Elfin let him come back to Lalande in time for Christmas. Marie, the Santa Lucía buns look delicious, especially with that filling. 😊
Red maple is beautiful. You can trim it as much as you want and it keeps coming back. I have one in my backyard. At least, I think it is a red maple. 😂 Love all the new trees and bushes. Gerry, come back soon and have a very Merry Christmas. Marie, I love your buns! They look better every year!😂 Annalise, beautiful job on Stephanie 's hair. It is always great to see Vivienne and Isabella. The peas and apple were funny! I can eat peas straight from the can. Don't tell on me.😂❤
The gardeners here understand the Latin Davy. The english is liquid amber too. There is an amazing specimen at the RHS garden in Wisley. It needs a lovely open view to get the impact of the leaves in winter.
Your liquid Amber tree is a beautiful deciduous tree..we call “ sweet gum “ here in Australia ..it’s leaves are maple shape and also spectacular colours in Autumn..then they all drop off in winter and appear again with beautiful greenery in spring/ summer..they make a beautiful mess of leaves in your garden ..Thankyou for sharing Stephanie.🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
What a jolly Advent video! Love the St Lucia buns from afar. The new trees and huge hydrangeas all sound amazing. The Marquis cornicing sounds a puzzle and glad to see progress towards the Grand Salon works. And your night with Vivienne and her daughter was full of fun. 🎄🎄😂🤣❤️❤️
I have never liked hydrangeas. I'm 54 now but as a teenager, 40 years ago I had a newspaper round and it was always blindingly obvious where the elderly people lived as they'd have huge hydrangea bushes i'd have to push myself thru to put their newspapers in their letterboxes. Horrible things IMO of course.
Happy to see Phillip get his just desserts, and synchronistic battery operated sweater, apple peas, celebrating with three lovely women, culminating in his fiance's double entendre! Merry Christmas to Davy, it was wonderful to see him. Happy Advent.
I have been waiting to see progress happening in the Grande Salon!! Every step forward brings us that tiny bit closer! I cannot imagine how much anticipation Amaury feels.
I make my grandmother’s eggnog recipe every year as does my daughter. A tradition that’s been around a very long time! I’m 62! I use wild turkey 101 proof bourbon. I feel like the Turkey is appropriate because I take to our Thanksgiving and Christmas family dinners😀
😆😂that was so funny when Stephanie said it wasnt 't a Philip special 😂🤣.... I choked on my cup of tea 🙈🤣😂Vivianne's face was priceless 😂🤣.... thank you for the the laughs and for sharing it with us

Always such a pleasure to see Brian - the gardener! ☺
I love the British accent of the spelling Gardner
Those buns look amazing! I say you need to write a Leland cookbook!
Great idea
The last two vlogs have been the funniest in awhile. Thanks for the laughs....and Vivians face when Steph said that wasn't the Philip special 😂. Loved it!!!
She actually blushed. How endearing is that!
Thank you for fixing the video (last night’s)was so thankful for it this morning

Or near where a pool would be!
Liquidambar is named "Copalme d’Amérique" in French.
Agree

So good to see Annalise how are the boys❤
I have a red maple in my front yard. They are stunningly beautiful when the leaves turn in the fall.
I've had a tough day which was totally forgotten after watching this video. Thank you LaLande
The double egg area looks like a vacant cartouche. I would put the chateau initials in that area.
Or a fleur-de-lis
@@eileenworth7862Ive seen none of that at LaLande. Wonder why?
Everytime I see Annaliese smile, I think about her cute little boys❣️
Stephanie, I love that you are so real.
Love that you are so, so modest Stephanie…. You let us see you in every state … with the foils in! How do you stay so positive? You make my day 💕
There is something afoot. Sounds like so much fun, everyone seemed a little schnookered from the eggnog. I love it!
philip wins the jumper of the season
In November, early December yearly, the city of Pretoria, South Africa is covered in Jacaranda.
I totally speak English but with all the giggles and laughter, I couldn’t understand a single word of what you guys were saying almost the entire time you were at Vivian’s. However, who cares, it looks like you were having so much fun and having fun with friends is the best part of Christmas!!!

They will drop flowers in the pool, badly. They get VERY wide.

Hilarious vlog! I adore Vivienne and Isabella!
Thanks for sending the silent video again, loved it! Loved today's vlog as usual! Well done
Marie is so lovely, I think she is the angel of LeLande🥰
Oh all the laughter warms my heart
The days leading up to Christmas are at least as enjoyable as Christmas Day!
I love a red maple. Glad Nati said that about the buns as I was thinking the same thing. 😉
The Asian trees are gorgeous, but I will say that red maples are one of the prettiest maples, along with king crimson and sugar maples
Have a Very Merry Christmas Gerald. 🎄
Oh!! Maples are absolutely brilliantly beautiful in the fall. You will appreciate the color at that time of year. Love all your planting. Can’t wait to see it bloom and grow.
And a good time was had by all…..(including us). 😁🎄🥂
Chris, making our world a little less gnarly 😊
If you plant it near the swimming pool you will get all the flowers drop into the water.
I love Brian He is so lovely You Make Every one feel Special Including Me watching Thank You For being You

A Beech tree near the chapel is a bad idea, they too get to be over 50 foot. I know because I have one at the end of my garden.
Apple sauce and peas is a lovely combo, even better with gravy and roast potatoes added.
