Over the past few weeks, it feels like we've seen and done a lot. While at the same time, we haven't even scratched the surface of Belgium. But, its been just enough to wet our whistle and whet our appetite. We'll be back for more. 🦈Go to surfshark.com/wynns for 4 extra months of Surfshark at an unbeatable price!
This Belgium series has been super on all levels. Thanks for sharing the culture, architecture, people and beer with us all! The boat trip looks like such a fantastic way to travel. You deserve 10 gold stars for your channel. Stay safe and well!
SUNDAY FUNDAY! Sunday always starts off with Gone with the Wynn's and delicious French pressed coffee. I love you adventures I have followed you for years, way back to the first RV, your journey to the catamaran and all the way thru covid, the boat build and now. I must tell you. I absolutely love how you embrace life and all it's challenges. Many people would fall apart and give up, but not Jason and Nikki Wynn. You are such a inspiration. Thank you for allowing me to travel all the USA and the world with you.
I usually have the same tenacity and vivacity, but today was a nadir...until I got here. One episode of GoneWithTheWynns is better than a week of traditional talk therapy. Thanks y'all! I feel almost human again.
The Belgians do not mess around when it comes to food and beverage. It really is a must visit country as a food lover. Thank you for taking us along on your adventure.
Jason poured that beer like a pro!! I don't know if it is the beer working, but that side shot of you two giving a kiss was so beautiful! As a Belgian guy (always modest) you guys make me really proud of my country, things we (Belgians in general) often forget! Ty! Love the videography and storytelling 😍 EDIT: well done on the Westvleteren, it is actually quite "rare", you won't find it in a supermarket, and you will not be able to buy e.g. 20 crates at once.
Great videos and nice to see you enjoy our beautiful country. if you still have the change keep the cantillon or any other geuze or lambiks you bought and store them like wine for a decade. Geuze can be stored up to 30 years and it get better with age. The acidity lowers and becomes very smooth and tasteful. I'm gonna open a geuze bottled in 2008 for this occasion. Schol.
Just so you know, your last two videos have made me plan travel to both Brussels and Bruges next month with my son and I. Plan to enjoy the Beer, Food, Museums and lack of crowds. Thanks for making this. (GL on Curiosity)
i am living the dream, cycle two paper rounds in the morning, chat with those i meet, danish breakfast til 10, couple of local breweries, 15hp+folding rib in the shed near PV powered home, garden full of wildlife and might make sixty in a couple of yrs. Gone are the days of antifoulling
I LOVED this video! I wish so much that I could have been there with you for this experience, all of it! The music brough tears to my eyes. I love it that you have made this incredible lifestyle for yourselves. Big hugs! I can't wait.....
I'm an Englishman living in the Netherlands for 20 years about half an hour from Belgium and my sister's family lives in New Zealand (adapted from the Dutch "Nieuwe Zeeland", named after the province). Been following you for a few years through places I've never seen myself so it's really weird seeing stuff so close to home through your eyes - you do it so well and give me a whole new perspective on my own backyard!
The way you guys are able to pivot and still enjoy your time together, create beauty, educate and inspire…that’s why I just love you guys and look forward to every video. 🩵🩵 And now my husband and I want to rent a canal boat, ride bikes, chase towers and try all the beers in Belgium. 😅 Praying for you guys and your boat repairs. Hoping you get to go home soon and that it’s all good. 🙏🏼
"Lambic" is the generic class name for beer of natural fermentation. This was the norm before the discovery of yeast & brewer's yeast. The UK used to have ale houses where ale was brewed by natural fermentation, generally by stay-at-home wives and this got sold from their houses. "Kriek" is pronounced as "creek" (except the ie is more staccato than the ee) and a "kriek" is a sour cherry (plural krieken) - the alternative name for these cherries in the Dutch-Flemish language area is "morel" (plural morellen). "Not bitter" - well, if beer was brewed with hops then you should taste some of the bitterness of the hops. These got added as a presumed preservative and because the bitterness gave a medicinal, good for your health, association in the past. Of course you can brew beer without hops.
Thank you for getting my Sunday morning off to a great start. I am with you on experiencing the best beer in the world, Jason Bring it on!!! Beer, beer, and more beer! 😊
Thats what i love about The Wynns.. they film everywhere i love in europe to see the town houses and people.. and restaurants..most boat vloggers just show boat life only.. and not much about the places on land. But not the Wynns..they show us everywhere we get the whole experience.. that's why i love love their content .and did i forget to say their the best dressed sailors.. never greasy or dirty.. and Jason hair.. like just out of a salon all the time...if i where a sailor i would want to look like them and be like them ....fan from Aruba
I cracked open a can of the finest Ale from Canada Dry (Ginger) as I started watching. Looking forward to a bunch of beer names I’ve never heard of and probably cannot pronounce. Cheers Mate!
We moved to the south of France a couple of years ago from the us. I'm still in awe when i see houses/ buildings, every day, that were around before Columbus was born.
This was a very fun series. I enjoyed exploring along with you, as I do most Sundays. It was especially nice getting to hear from Jason a little more and his excitement about his beer tasting adventure. Looking forward to more adventures both on land and sea.
If you did pack some beers try aging them in a cellar with a constant temprature and dark. I have 10 year old "WEST-VLE-TE-REN" ;) that has even more intens flavors because of its age.
Have loved your series in Belgium. As a Belgian and beer enthusiast I have to say I think, even with all the hype, that Westvleteren 12 is my favourite beer which makes it the best in the world in my opinion.
I homebrew here in the US, when you the term house yeast, especially with open fermentation, it's because that strain of yeast has penetrated every pore of everything in the building.yeast are territory little beast and cannibalize other strains. So there's only one house yeast per brewery. Enjoy the beers. Great series
Gotta comment regarding the camera work you guys did when you were in town. Best I've ever seen. The beerology is top notch as well. Great vid. Thanks!
Jason and Nikki, I'm actually disappointed that this little adventure has come to an end! I watch several TH-cam cruising channels and love the content - but I KNOW that I would only be able to take about 7 days in the the Philippines, or the San Blas Islands or French Polynesia! I can handle heat, but the humidity is off the hook. In retirement, I'll have to do a bareboat cruise or such - or one every three or four years. But the canal boats in Europe look like the absolute bomb, that would be a great lifestyle! So glad that you were able to take a break from Curiosity for a while and take us along!
I'm much closer to that 80 year olds age than you guys are. I guess I need to start riding my 50 year old bicycle some more. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Never a disappointment. I will try some Belgium beer if/when I can find it...I'm just not sure my pallet is refined enough to fully appreciate it. 😊 Thank-you for the virtual ride along through Belgium. You kids are living an amazing life!
Always enjoy your travels Especially immersing yourself fully where you are And learning new things about people n places is another thing I like about your videos Ps you guys do a marvelous job on editing your videos and presenting 👏.......way way way above average
Love that youre making a great adventure out of the situation. And- i love that textured blue top from Delirium - cant find it online ??? - got a link? ❤
What an excellent episode! I could definitely get into going to Belgium and beer tasting, even though I live in Washington state with some amazing beers. Thank you both!❤
"Cadeau" means "present" in french. I'm happy you liked our little country, if you ever come back and want to push more South on the Meuse, Namur and Dinant are wonderful to visit by boat. From there you can go to Maredsous or Orval abbey to taste the beer and the cheese.
Man, it’s only just after 9:00 here and watching you drink some of those dark beers is making me want one too. Belgium may very well be a place to visit. Glad to see you two. Be safe
since consuming boozes is one of your lifestyle, not only we don’t mind you talking about it,and actually we kinda demanding this as part of the content for this channel as long as you have some inventory to yourself and some shop around you, cheers and hope Curiosity could be back online asap
Hello, original I am from Ghent. But living in Türkiye, made charter with my cata kalamazoo. Retired now. When you ate mussels.... they come from Zeeland, which is a province in the Netherlands. That is just about 70 km from Gent. Thx, nice vlog, following already long time. Jo captain
Fun Beer History: when the Abbeys were starting to brew beer, it was to help get through the fasting requirement during lent (The beer also gave a nutritional boost) This was leading to drunken behavior among the Monks. So fearing this problem might be endangering the safety of everyone’s eternal souls, an Abbott sent a letter w/a barrel of Beer to the Pope in Rome asking, “Are we wrong for Brewing Beer? Should we stop?” The Pope and his Cardinals being Italian and life-long wine drinkers tried it with all its hoppy flavor were repulsed by it. The Pope wrote back, “Not only should you not Stop making and drinking this concoction, you are commended for this penance!”
I had to pause and say... when I was in college back in 1988, a friend from Ohio always dipped his fries in a mix of mayo & yellow mustard. I have been hooked ever since and have always eaten my fries that way. So. Good. I prefer a 2/3 mayo, 1/3 mustard ratio. 😊
Weird... I've heard the term "fever dream" before, but this time I couldn't quite come up with a definition, so I looked it up: Fever dreams differ from other dreams in that they are often more vivid and unusual. Fever dreams also tend to feel more negative and involve fewer positive emotions than other recent non-fever dreams. Also, in fever dreams, the sleeper interacts with fewer dream characters or figures. Specific aspects of fever dreams can include: Spatial Distortion: Moving walls, objects melting, and spaces changing size were the most common type of dream in one study of fever dreams. Threats or Danger: Study participants reported that their fever dreams contained threats from dogs, insects, terrorists, and stones. Illness: Types of illness in dreams may vary. In one study, sleepers dreamed about illnesses such as respiratory distress, pain, and vertigo.
Great video, thanks for sharing. We’ve done the Caledonian canal in Scotland and a boat rental in Northern Ireland. Need to ad Belgium to our to do list. Not to be mean, but Jason’s cleat hitch needs some work.
Hi when Marcel he has e cadeau for you he ment he has a present for you. And the word boom means tree. Nice of you guys touring in België. I live in the Netherlands near the border of België “Belgium”

Traveling and seeing the sights in this way is so appealing to me. I would definitly do this if I could.
The gentleman was saying he had a cadeau “gift” for you. So sweet!
I know you guys miss being on your boat-- but this looks a lot more relaxing than your usual day to day!
Boats are a lot of work, no doubt! 😘

I love that you guys love beer (and coffee). You're a great couple that always gives me a warm feeling in my heart. Thank you!
Superb sound and editing. What a beautiful and exciting sidetrack to your boat challenges. You guys always make the best of any situation.

5:37 IIRC, Zeeland is a region in the Netherlands (however, it borders on Belgium, possibly the region spans the border)
i am living the dream, cycle two paper rounds in the morning, chat with those i meet, danish breakfast til 10, couple of local breweries, 15hp+folding rib in the shed

Any updates on the boat repairs?
These land tours are more interesting ! This more interesting then sailing, boondocking.
Jason filming while telling the world it’s not legal to ride a bicycle and hold a self-distraction-device…Bahahaha wtf over :-) love my Dtown folks!
Yes the fries and mayo! For those that know, you know! 😎
I LOVED this video! I wish so much that I could have been there with you for this experience, all of it! The music brough tears to my eyes. I love it that you have made this incredible lifestyle for yourselves. Big hugs! I can't wait.....
I'll be in Belgium next year for the F1 race and have been trying to plan a couple beer stops. This series has really helped my planning. Thank you.

Another fantastic vid. I love beer and I love you guys! Stay safe and enjoy! 🤩😍😘
BAM! Another 1 out of the park! You guys are the best. I never knew how beautiful Belgium was. Beer thirty in that country would be awesome.

A well deserved vacation. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
What's happening with the boat? Curious about Curiosity 2!
You both look so much more relaxed and happy away from that big often scary ocean boat.
I too, would like to be like Marcel when I grow up. That was a lovely episode. So glad that you have had a wonderful journey in Belgium.
This looks like such a slow serene way to travel (as long as you don’t run into anything). Thank you for sharing.
I love the Belgiun history. Very much appreciate taking us on this adventure…it was fun! 🇨🇦 ❤
This was a very fun series. I enjoyed exploring along with you, as I do most Sundays. It was especially nice getting to hear from Jason a little more and his excitement about his beer tasting adventure. Looking forward to more adventures both on land and sea.
Such a great trip update on Belgium. We have been inspired & heading to Belgium over Christmas. Can’t wait for my first Belgian beer 😀

Cool that you visit my country. What a nice publicity. ❤
There is an amazing amount of history there.
Never, ever boring and I don't even like beer!

Hi Nikki and Jason, next time The Netherlands. You will be surprised even much more.
Have a nice time!

In the immortal words of the great crooner in the sky, "Its 5 o'clock somewhere"....
It's always beer o' clock in Belgium...

We use tartar a lot for fries in Washington state. I have been known to accept mayo as an alternative when tartar is not available.
Back to sailing. 🤔
Thanks for sharing.
Belgium is beautiful, but when are you guys gonna get back on to curiosity? Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you both.
Great video, thanks for sharing. We’ve done the Caledonian canal in Scotland and a boat rental in Northern Ireland. Need to ad Belgium to our to do list. Not to be mean, but Jason’s cleat hitch needs some work.

Thanks!
While in Ghent, I hope you saw the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb.
