Hi mate it's about time someone is making videos about what vehicles are acceptable this is all the stuff that nobody tells you in any detail. So what is the situation with inspecting cars that are under 3 years old and not requiring an MOT unit then? Are you saying you need to MOT a new car first ?. All the best 👍
Hi there, thanks for reaching out with your question! You're correct, there's often some confusion around the MOT requirements for new cars. In the UK, new cars don't need an MOT test until they are three years old. So, if you have a car that’s under three years old, it does not require an MOT certificate until it reaches that age. After that, it will need to pass an MOT test every year to ensure it meets road safety and environmental standards. For cars licensed by TfL, the same general rules apply, but it's always best to check the latest TfL regulations as there may be additional requirements for certain types of vehicles, such as taxis or private hire vehicles. Hope that clears things up, and all the best to you too!
