Nice to see HD systems think about an affordable and easy to use entry point set of goggles like this. Would love to see HDZero do the same, but we got the screen (no complaints here about that). Surprised to see head tracking on these, thats pretty cool. Thanks for the review! Cheers!
If anyone complains about the price, analog still exists... However, in this day and age it's insane to me that a 1080p screen with a small VRX and battery in a box costs as much as it does. Bring on OpenIPC etc creating cheaper open source products! Give it a couple of years and hopefully it's more compelling to make the jump to HD.
My wife and I fly mostly DJI, but we love our micros just not crazy about analog… there’s are going to make for a great addition to our toy pile 😂. Wish DJI would make a super lite whoop vtx but I’ll give walksnale a shot
analog is decent for tiny whoops as long as you're not pushing it too far away. I'd love to try HD though just to see the difference. It must be amazing to see the details.
I don't suspect DJI is interested in the tiny whoop market. I would suspect they are mostly interested in the highest image quality they can get in a platform that has GPS and now RID. But who knows, maybe they want to be in the sub 100gram market and have something up their sleeve....dreams :)
@@NickBurnsFPV Remember, EVERYTHING over 250grams has RID. You can build some dynamite 2" quads and 85mm whoops with DJI vVTX's in them. The Naked Vista is only about 12g with a nano camera and that set up BLOWS AWAY ANYTHING from Walksnail and HDZero! Without a doubt. I see HDZero videos of guys flying their whoops and they can't fly any farther than an Analog whoop can! Plus, there's SOOOO MUCH SNOW!!! I think this product is great! Awesome video and I am glad to see Caddx put out a product priced to get more people into digital fpv. I would like to see another version of this where the monitor could seperate and be used for spectating for a little more money.
The other affordable Walksnail box goggles, the Fatshark Recon HD, provide that spectator capability, sort of. They have HDMI out via USB-C, which you can feed into either a portable HDMI monitor or, with a suitable adaptor, a phone. Apparently the Recon HDs are now being discontinued, but it looks like a few places still have stock.
Love the low price, but the headtracking is not helping that. Who thought "We must include headtracking!"? They could have lowered the cost more or used the "headtracking" money towards making it work with analog also.
The 9-DoF IMU they put in this thing to allow head tracking would cost a few dollars at most. I think it's a sensible inclusion when you consider the broader context. Exclusive quad pilots don't care of course, but it will make the goggles more appealing to FPV wing pilots, and it creates an affordable, integrated goggles + head tracking solution that can be used with the camera gimbals that Caddx have also just launched.

Hey nick. Any idea on whats a better walksnail experience when comparing something like these new goggles to say getting a walksnail vrx system for my hdzero goggles?.
The hdzero displays are going to be higher resolution and thus more clear and have more "features", but there is some latency added during hdmi processing. I personally believe if we are flying faster or doing something along the lines of freestyle "tricks" we are better served avoiding hdmi inputs, this is something I have to recommend as we don't know from person to person if the added hdmi processing latency will be an issue or not.
Sorry, my reply here is in english I hope that is okay. The goggles L are a step up from the fatshark recons. I have used both. But I am not sure the step up is worth the price. If you have the cost of goggles L to spare and do want to spend that amount then I think you will be happy with a purchase of the goggles L. On the other hand if the cost of goggle L is a budget difficulty then its probably not worth it. I hope this help deciding
Hey Nick, what do you think is the best bnf walksnail tiny whoop for garden and partly indoor flying? I thought mby I could build a meteor65 pro frame with the walksnail 1s vtx. Is that too small? Or should I just get the meteor 75 pro hd from betafpv?
I would go with the 75, the 65pro battery tray is sized for a 300mah battery which doesn't get us as much flight as a standard 65mm analog whoop. 75mm battery tray can take batteries beyond 550 and with the larger prop handles the additional HD weight better.
@NickBurnsFPV thanks a lot🙏, love your channel. It’s getting really challenging for drones now above 250g so I am glad that we have a Mirco guy like you 👍🏻
I got a complaint, these dont work with the share function whatsoever, I bought them to share the experience with my friends but they don't broadcast or connect to a broadcast
FPV and VR are the only activities that make me feel like a disabled person because I need corrective lenses. It seems like none of them except the super expensive ones make allowances for non-perfect vision. So frustrating as a poor person with glasses.

I personally believe if we are flying faster or doing something along the lines of freestyle "tricks" we are better served avoiding hdmi inputs, this is something I have to recommend as we don't know from person to person if the added hdmi processing latency will be an issue or not.
@@NickBurnsFPV thank you. Thats a tough one. I guess for 199.99 it's easier to make a deciision
Mads is going to be upset the light doesn't Larson scan lol
at least with the latest firmware its just white and on/off. That could always change
@@NickBurnsFPV very true had to make the joke because mads said something about it on his stream lol
Do you think these would work well for a spectator set of goggles?
they should work well for that. I did not test that function though
Mine came with a soft bag case
Are these pretty easy to link with a DJI Mini 3 ( non pro version; just getting started in flying)
These aren't compatible with the DJI video system
@@NickBurnsFPV dang. Thanks for the response though!!
Dang I literally bought the fatshark recon hd like 10 days ago for $250
Hey Nick, what do you think is the best bnf walksnail tiny whoop for garden and partly indoor flying? I thought mby I could build a meteor65 pro frame with the walksnail 1s vtx. Is that too small? Or should I just get the meteor 75 pro hd from betafpv?
I would go with the 75, the 65pro battery tray is sized for a 300mah battery which doesn't get us as much flight as a standard 65mm analog whoop. 75mm battery tray can take batteries beyond 550 and with the larger prop handles the additional HD weight better.
@NickBurnsFPV thanks a lot🙏, love your channel. It’s getting really challenging for drones now above 250g so I am glad that we have a Mirco guy like you 👍🏻
Great video thank you.
I got a complaint, these dont work with the share function whatsoever, I bought them to share the experience with my friends but they don't broadcast or connect to a broadcast
4:12 Is it possible to wear glasses in the goggles? How big could they be to fit inside?
They would have to be super super small. I don't have a measurement. Maybe on the product page.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thanx for fast answer! You don't have the goggles anymore to measure it?
FPV and VR are the only activities that make me feel like a disabled person because I need corrective lenses. It seems like none of them except the super expensive ones make allowances for non-perfect vision. So frustrating as a poor person with glasses.
I believe the word you were looking for is optometrist 😊
lol, indeed
These might be a reason to revisit whoops.
I can’t manage to bind them to my drone
Make sure both the vtx and the goggle are on the same firmware versions.
@@NickBurnsFPV yep that worked
Will these work with the mobula6 HD?
No, the mobula 6 hd is the hdzero video system
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks, do you know of a good tinywhoop for the Avatar L?
@@user-bh9yk2wv4w Please see my response on your mobula6 hd comment.
we don't care filing we care range test and how works
Regulations don't allow for beyond visual line of sight.
@@NickBurnsFPV So no one should test it? Go somewhere in the mountains or fly 5-10 minutes away from the city, I don't think anyone will do anything
head tracking with a patch hmmmmm
Ian mentioned like 5 times or more, hmm.
Oh come on now. I only count three. Is it double up Monday 😁
$400 aud not cheap in my book
