- I was so shocked that someone stole from my cart. I have never worried about this before in NH. Has this ever happened to you? I'm sharing all the details in today's video. Be sure to stay til the end! I have a 50 pound haul to share too!!

A really good replica bag will have leather trim & the edge of the top trim will be turned under before it's stitched down, no raw edges. Was addicted to the 'bins' for a few years but the craziness & shoving & pushing not to mention the crud & dirt was too much. We stopped right before Covid hit. Plus, our bins were huge! You had to reach way down to get into it. The regular thrifts seemed boring after that calm is good. Happy treasure hunting!

Prices have been creeping up. At least the bins are still affordable.
Ive had tons of stuff stolen from my cart. A regular at my local bins had their handbag with their wallet stolen! It’s crazy! Now, I bring my own bags and if I find something amazing I just go straight to check out, put the stuff in my trunk and then go back.
I carry my payment in my front pocket. I won't bring my wallet into the bins.
I dont have the bins where i live but ive seen lots of videos where people recommend bringing a small crossbody or fanny pack to keep the essentials in.
It is the principle of it all, for sure!!! The fact that she buried it shows she knew exactly what she was trying to do.
I had a Goodwill experience recently where I left my cart, went around the corner & when I came back it was gone! I got so lucky - one of the workers had put it up by the register so that no one would take any of my stuff. I was so grateful & thanked her repeatedly. After talking to her I guessed that she’s seen some people with sticky fingers.
I'm at the SLC bins and a few months ago, I had a Cosco coat I had put my car keys in the pocket, and when I was searching for stuf; It was slow and I was about to go back to my cart wich was covered with a blanket, I happened to see my car keys lying on top of a bin, out of nowhere. I had kept my keys in my coat which was a Costco coat and i grabbed them, and immeditely went to my car to check and it was all good. A few minutes later, thankfully, they came to change the carts out and if I hadnt checked those old carts, I would have been stuck there with no way to get home. I can't belive someone stole my coat and left the car keys on to of a bin, luckily for me to find.
I sold ThirtyOne for years and always pick it up when I find it out. I have SO much ThirtyOne! A lot of people who get out of selling it will donate their ‘kits’ which are basically brand new and unused pieces. People also search for retired prints to complete their sets! :)
Still can't believe someone actually stole something from you at that bins! I hope that doesn't become a common thing there, but I'm glad it ended well - Also LOL at you not asking permission and digging through there cart to get it back, I LOVE THAT!

I have caught someone rifling through my cart before and when confronted, she said she thought it was a cart the store was putting out. Mind you, it was at the bins and everything is brought out in BINS! Since my cart stays against a wall during a rotation, I now cover with a sheet.

Thankfully I haven't had anyone take anything from my cart but the biggest pet peeve at my bins are the people that scoop up ALL the shoes into their buggies (yes, I mean armloads and armloads into overflowing buggies) and then take them off to the side to sort through them! So, I really enjoy watching you look through the shoes...I'm jealous actually😀
My niece had her wallet stolen at her local Goodwill, by the registers. It happened so quickly, she found the manager and they had video. It ended up being one of their employees and she got the wallet back. She was lucky. The knock off Louis does appear to be in great shape. I had no idea my little Louis within my Louis was worth that much.
I can't believe an employee took her wallet, wow! So happy she got it back! Yes, those little pouches resell for crazy money!
Wow, what a story! That is crazy. I've never had to worry at my bins either, but I go late in the day usually to avoid the crowds. Good thing for your friend! and yeah...."a mistake" likely story LOL. It's always good to speak up and be open and honest about how you feel...to say calmly, "You know I don't feel great about spending all this time here shopping and turn around and one of my items is missing. That is not good and it is not ok with me. I do not believe it was a mistake that it ended up in your cart and I hope you don't do it again to anyone else - the next person might not be so nice." Oh, I do have something that happened once to me but in a Goodwill Thrift store, not the bins. I was in the dressing room and left my cart out as you do...and when I came out a woman was rummaging through it. I said, "Excuse me, this is my cart, it is right here next to the dressing room as I was trying on something." And she says, "Oh you have very good things in here (continuing to dig), and held up a Nike Jacket in Neon...can I have this?" I said no. She says, " Well you have so much in here, you can give me this Jacket!" I said, "no I can't, now I caught you rummaging through my cart while I was unable to attend to it, now you are trying to take my jacket, please hand it back to me and leave me alone". She handed it back and left. Then as I was still shopping she came back AGAIN about 10 min. later and said "look you don't need that jacket, it won't even fit you, what do you need it for? I want it, I'm going to take it" and she reached in to grab it! I said, "STOP!" She froze. "Look, It doesn't matter what I am buying it for. That is none of your business. I was here first, I found it before you were here, and its mine. Sorry Charlie but that's how it works. If you want something you have to get here earlier. Now leave me alone before I tell the store manager you are harassing me." She rolled her eyes and left. I did not see her again, thank goodness. I guess you have to know that everywhere there might be that one strange person...and beware. I did begin putting a blanket over my cart then...when I was trying things on. Now all our stores are still with dressing rooms and bathrooms closed to public due to the COVID.
Our mother said when lost money or something "someone needed it more then you"...but don't take others things.

I had a GIANT Squishmallow stolen from my cart at those bins. The cart was right with me - touching my butt. It was huge and bright green and when I saw it was missing I found it and took it right back. It was quite the scene!

That's crazy! No one dares to touch someone else's cart at our bins. In fact, yesterday I left my entire cart, went home to pick up my mom and came back! But glad you got it back.

Lori! I saw this video pop up a few weeks ago and just watched today after someone stole all of my shopping bags at the end of the day at the Denver bins. I saw one of my bags buried in their cart in the checkout line and went right up to them and pulled my things out. They tried to argue with me, and as mild as I usually am, I was like "I don't think so!". It kind of bums me out.....I don't want to have to be tough and fight with people! I love your channel and I'm going to get a tougher skin and try going back tomorrow! Thanks for all of your content! :)

What a crazy story! My 6 year old thrifted at the bins with us for three straight days on a trip in June. She walked away from her cart and someone started going through it. She ran over to it saying “Hey that’s mine!” Fortunately the lady walked away and didn’t give any trouble.
You don't have to worry about her speaking up for herself!! Good for your little one!!
I once had a J Crew jacket taken from my cart at the bins. It was sitting on top and I was disappointed to notice it missing. I’ve since covered my cart with a sheet or undesirable looking item.

I too was on the edge of my seat then a commercial!!! Arrggh!!! lol. Sheets over carts here in Houston too. I had something taken too from my cart once, and when I found it, I acted like I was so grateful this woman found my Pottery Barn quilt lololol.....yes they stole a quilt. Girl, you can't make up these things.

Oh my goodness! I went to the bins today for the first time! I probably missed you the other day. What a dramatic day for you. I had the best time with my friend, and my specialty was shoes. We went out for lunch and ate under some trees after washing up thoroughly, lol!!! I took a few videos of the coming and goings of the bins to show the ladies back at the shop. They won't believe it! Loved the chasing fireflies catalog when my kid was little. She had several costumes that I bought on “clearance” and they resold for very good money!

Thirty-one bags are great for travel. I have a B&W paisley fabric crossbody bag and a rolling tote. I never knew about the parties but just came across the brand and started collecting them.

I'm from NH and go to the Hudson bins every weekend. Never had anyone take anything from my cart (that I know of) but it is definitely crazy there! My daughter goes to school in AL and the Birmingham bins are so relaxed compared to ours. They rotate out 1 bin at a time and even let you start to go through it before its in place. Totally different vibe!
This was the craziest thing that has ever happened to me at the bins. I never used to worry about items being stolen out of my cart...but on this day, that's just what happened! No, not at the bins thankfully I feel like most of us look out for each other even at the nyc bins like I’ve helped people find matching shoes and others have helped me. I will say at a goodwill one time I put my backpack down and it had all my stuff in it and I turned around a guy was putting it on I never in my life moved so aggressively to get my stuff back 😂 it was literally in a basket with my stuff like I was flabbergasted
I did have a lady steal my cart at Salvation Army at 46th street once and I went and confronted her it was absolutely unbelievable but she immediately gave it back clearly realizing she was in the wrong… smh
I have the opposite problem at my bins. I have to double check for things people toss IN to my basket 🤣 I guess people decide they don't want something and toss in the nearest basket, or as a practical joke? 🤷♀️
@@rockyduck9133 hahahha oh yes had that happen too and wondered, now how did THAT get in here?. Yes probably what happened. Most of the time (well living here over 15 years, reselling 6 years - only been to the bins 4 times), I shop, then find a spot and go through everything checking for flaws and comps too but once it was too late, I didn't have time. That was when I came home with a couple unexpected items.

My bins in SWFL is the same way and even the workers get upset when people steal, which is rare. We don't touch other people's carts at my bins. But if I have something valuable I do hide it under other items but I have never had a problem thank goodness. I am SO glad you got the bag back!
Here's some history from the Harold's Belt you found. Harold's was a super popular preppy store that had over 40 store based in Oklahoma. Started in 1948 until 2008 when it went bankrupt. Especially in the 80's and 90's college students loved to shop at their stores. You might find a former customer that is so excited to see this brand in the resale market.
You ladies ROCK! I put a John Deere comforter & sheet set in my cart once and it was on the top of my cart. The comforter was in a clear bag that looked like the bags you'd actually buy sets in at the store, but the sheets were under it in my cart. Someone took the clear bag, but must not have noticed the sheets. Love the bins but hate when that happens.

Oh my gosh that’s crazy. That’s one of the things I stay away from the bins besides it’s far from where I live. Definitely there are regulars and very territorial. Be very careful, Lori.
It has happened to me and now I’m so careful I keep a big bag that I let them know at the register is what I use to keep my stuff in until I’m checking out & now many of us do the same thing at the outlet in nyc because sadly folks will take if the opportunity is there bud thankfully you got it back it’s a great looking bag fake or not.
I guess you can never be too careful! Great tip for when I go back to the NYC bins!

Love that teddy bear, I think he's going to do really great - People want that nostalgia and reminder of their childhood either for their own personal reasons or to pass on that joy/sentiment to their children 💚

This happened once when I was at the bins, but my daughter was the culprit! She was excited about a brand new funko-pop she found and I was surprised since there hadn't been a recent switch-out. She said "yeah, I found it in one of those shopping carts along the wall". I about fell over. She was new to the bins and thought that the carts along the wall were for digging through! The cart was gone by then and we couldn't find the original picker. We are both sorry to the person who was missing their funko pop.
I've been looking for the "Birthday Girl" skirt and the blue Madewell button down shirt size S (I think). Hope you have time soon to list more items. Can't believe that someone would actually take things from another person's cart! Unbelievable. Great haul, thanks Lori!

I'm soooo...ready for fall. I love cool crisp weather and all the clothes of the season. Most of my closet is blazers, jackets, shoes, sweaters in suede, cashmere, wool and leather so that's my jam!

Harold’s was a private women’s clothing (your leather belt from the bins) store in Oklahoma and had another large store in Dallas. They had their own brand with products well made. All items were of good quality. Preppy styles. I miss them. I believe they went out of business in the 90’s.

I left my cart where everyone leaves their carts to look at some books and I come back and someone literally emptied all of my stuff out of my cart and stole the cart.

People steal stuff out of carts all the time at our Goodwill Bins. Some lady was in the middle of the store ranting and raving one day because someone stole a few things out her cart. Another day, someone stole a lady's ENTIRE cart!! I'm like - how hard would it be to find that person in the store?!! I put my stuff in my big IKEA bags and then go through it to weed out when I leave. That way it's not right out there tempting the thieves. It's getting worse so be on your guard.

oh woooow! I'm actually flying to New Hampshire and will be there starting Sunday for a week and I told my family I need to go to the bins because there's one an hour and a half away! I'm from California so I want to see what's up on the East Coast! But for my bins story.... I had a guy come up to me and demand to see the northface jacket I pulled out the bins...he literally dug through my entire cart to find it..found it, it's new with tags but had a company logo on it so he "allowed" me to keep it. I. was so shocked I just stood there like wtf?? I still see him every now and then...so annoying.

What I do and have seen many others do is get a big fitted sheet or blanket and cover my items and cart. This helps detour lookie-loos and sticky-finger people. I have also had items taken from my cart. The main one was a small lime green coach clutch. It was not the day to mess with me. It was a regular GW and I was in the dressing room. They had just put up signs telling you not to take extra items in with or your carts. So I followed the rules and when I came out my bag was gone. I announced loudly that my bag was stolen and that I was having a bad day and on my way to a funeral. My Uncle had passed and I had to go to the funeral service that night. A woman came and gave me a hug and eventually we found where someone had ditched the bag. The manager gave it to me for free and apologized for the signs on the dressing room door. It all worked out and I still have that bag!

Our bins are similar, they do half a room at a time and we wait. But we do not keep our carts with us when we shop, we have a cart parking area. We just periodically go to our cart and dump what we picked up. I will usually take a jacket or some thing in there and cover but I don’t believe I’ve ever had anything stolen. On my last visit I looked over and I saw a woman take a skirt out of my cart and show it to her guy, but she put it back. I think she was just admiring it. I did have a pair of shoes stolen from my cart at a regular store on dollar day. I will follow you and bookmark your next show on but not as I have not yet seen one. I am on boarding this coming week and need to learn more about it!
