Great video! When do you air layer the pear tree? Do sell and ship the Korean giant? I would like to 3-4 cuttings. If not, do you know a reputable sellers I can buy from ?Please let me know Thanks
They are still growing, but Shinko will be around 12-15 feet tall, 10 feet wide. Korean Giants will be 15-20 feet tall 8-10 feet wide. You can trim to keep them shorter.
Hello, I’m having problems with my Hosui pear, my tree was growing leaves very well, I live in central Texas, when the weather rise above 85 degrees the tree started to die, I watered every week, I fertilize it in spring. What do you think happened? I got me another one, Can I planted in an open area with sunlight all day or should I planted some place else. I hope you can help, thank you in advance, blessings 🙏🙏🙏🙏👵👵👵
It's hard to say without seeing the tree, but one thing you can check is watering. In Central Texas, the ground is most likely clay, so when watering this time of the year, the water just runs off and never made it to the roots. It could be very dry underneath causing the tree to die. Try digging down and see if it's dry and water deeply. Yes, you must plant pear trees in full sun.
I have done many, but they're part of a long series. Check this video and use the timeline to get to the grafting part. th-cam.com/video/Nq7kp9mFWo8/w-d-xo.html

Try Stark Bros. They have dwarf options you can choose from.
Thanks for the videos. What is the spacing of your trees? About how many feet are they apart from each other?
about 12 feet, my trees are dwarfs. Normal trees may need 15-20 feet apart.
About how tall and wide are your pear trees, please? I'm trying to see if I can fit them in a space along my fence. Thanks!
