    Hey, i have a question - doesnt it slide when you moving your hands backward and forwars? I mean i’ve seen some videos where ppl were using tape to prevent sliding. Could you tell me What was your experience?

      Hello! Do you mean when its finished and in use? I add some glue so it prevents that leather for sliding. And its also so tight fit it cant slide.

    Hey Janne, amazing work!
    Just a quick question: I see that you don’t apply glue to the inner part of the wheel, is this done to make it easier to pull the sides of the leather together when hand sewing?
    Thank you!

    • @manuLab
      @manuLab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes because of that. But if you dont have that tight leather, you can glue it first and then handsew it.

    Hey there, awesome job, how do you make the measurements for the cover ?

    • @manuLab
      @manuLab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I use old leather to rough measurements and then test fit it and cut right size.

    Hello, how do you take measurements are you useing old parts for patterns or do you hand craft on your own and how long does it take you to complete steering wheel. thank you

      Hello. I use old leather as pattern, but with littlebit extra and then just testing and cutting it to right size. It takes me 5-9 hours to make one.

    Nice work! It looks great.
    Can you tell me more about glue? Bison Tix. How long it takes to cure? I want to try do this DIY with pre-cut leather for my wheel but If I only have few seconds working with glue.... I dont know...
    Did you put glue only on "spokes" or entire streereing wheel?

    • @manuLab
      @manuLab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes thats bison tix but any contact glue works. I glue only spokes and inside the steering wheel. Attach glue to leather and steering wheel, then wait 5-10 till its bit tacky and glue it on.
