Thanks. Thats normal 5mm or 3mm backing foam (cant remember which). I got it from local upholstery shop muovikum but i think you can buy it ebay etc also.

I’m currently losing my mind over finding the right colors from Serafil to get that oldschool E46 M Tricolor look. I was wondering if maybe you could help me out and tell me which color numbers you used? I tried to peek at the numbers on the spools you had in the video but couldn’t read them. Thanks in advance!

Thanks! These are the right colours:8235, 0816 and 0504. If you want that purple version use 7377 instead of 0816

@@manuLab Thanks for the quick reply! Now that I'm watching on my computer instead of my phone I can see the numbers on the yarn perfectly, whoops. I'm pretty sure you know what you're talking about but what's still a bit confusing to me is that the lighter blue looks kinda dark in the shot with the three spools next to each other and very light when you're sewing with it and also in the finished steering wheel. That's why I first thought 8470 (which is lighter and also a bit turquoise) could maybe be an even better match for the M colors. Or am I wrong ?

Hi. I think its called rubber cellular foam. But as i remember e36 dont need that padding. At leats e36 m3 3spoke wheel dont have padding.

Amazing work! I have a question about brushing contact adhesive onto genuine alcantara - is there a risk of it passing through to the exposed surface if you put it on too thick? Also, are there any tricks to making genuine alcantara stretch? Can you apply a little heat, for example?

Thanks! No risk for that, with glue like this. There are alcantaras with backing fabric, what wont stretch and alcantara without backing fabric and that will stretch. And without heat

Yes, so it can sew enough thick thread. Best is triple feed walking foot machine. I have Adler 167 373.

I use only original alcantara and serafil threads. No chinese suedes for me. Thats rubber cellular foam. I have no links but i buy alcantara from germany leder stoffe design and other products from local supplier.
