    Description:
    This video shows voltage readouts of my charging system (2011 Suzuki SX4, 2.0 liter petrol engine, J20 Kosai Production model) under various electrical load conditions after replacing my generator (alternator) and battery.
    It appears that the ECM increases the engine rpm when the voltage drops below 12.3 Volts.
    If there are any questions, please leave them in the comments below and I will answer back. Thank you for watching.

    It's charging. What's the problem?

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, it is great that it is charging, my query was if it is normal for over a minute to pass and then the ecm increases rpm and charging goes to 14.07 volts. Thank you for watching.

      Me disculpo por la respuesta tardía, le llevaría el alternador a pepboys para que lo revisen, mi alternador no falló la prueba en sí cuando lo revisé, sin embargo, la salida de carga era baja, también, verifique su la batería también y todas las conexiones, tanto en la batería como en el alternador, vea mi otro video donde reemplazo el alternador, es muy importante hacer esas comprobaciones, especialmente las pruebas de caída de voltaje, espero que esto ayude, gracias por mirar y comentando (utilicé el traductor de Google, así que pido disculpas si hay algún error gramatical).

    05/3 22. What age & mileage was the alternator replaced ? Have a UK 1.6 Auto - have only needed to replace the battery, concerning electrics, so far - now reached 62 000 miles. What is the knurled pad for at 6 o' clock position on your steering wheel ? First time l've seen one - I'm on my 3rd SX4.

      @@zmanvideo1 05/3 22 (2). It's our, my wife & l, 4th Suzuki. Our 1st was a 1.6 4WD Swift followed by 3 SX4s. Lastest bought in 2013 at 500 miles from new. European SX4s were built in Hungary. During production a sister FIat Suduci model was built simultaneously. Fiat had their own colour ranges & styling differences. Roof bars were finished in silver. Front & Rear ends & side mouldings differed too. Best.

      @@peterallam6494 wow, that is impressive! I also have a Suzuki Grand Vitara 2006 that I purchased new, you are lucky that you still have Suzuki's in the UK, here in Canada (and North America) they pulled out about 7 or so years ago.

    Hi Zman, I really appreciate your informative videos on the SX4. I am attempting to check my spark plugs (odo is at 225,000 miles, 2012 sx4 hatch). I have read every forum post and even your comments on your SX4 maintenance video but I cannot for the life of me get my engine cover off. I am lifting up on the front with as much force as I can, so much so that the car lifts. The front right corner is showing a stress line and in afraid of breaking my cover. Do you have any tips for getting it off? If it does break is it necessary for the function of the car?

    • @zmanvideo1

      there is no trick to taking the plastic engine cover off, pull up on each corner, if its stuck, it may be because it has not been off in a while and the rubber grommets may have baked onto the fastening points, if it breaks than not to worry, it just dampens the sound; thank you for your kind comment and I hope I was able to help you out; thank you for commenting and subscribing, I very much appreciate it.

      @@zmanvideo1 Thanks for the advice! I waited until I had driven for about 45 minutes and the engine was nice and warm. A solid tug upwards let it finally come loose! Do you know if there is anything I can apply to the connections to help them release easier next time? Thank you again for all the help

      @@fifemaster100 you can apply some diaelectric grease to the connections, it will greatly assist in removing the cover in the future. Sorry for the late reply.

    The Suzuki grand vitara Good reliable transportation?

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, I would say, the engines are very tough, the automatic 5 speed transmission is by Aisin a very reliable unit, I would recommend that you replace the engine coolant very very regularly, you have to remove a lot of stuff if it starts leaking, other then that, I would recommend them. Thank you for watching.

      @@zmanvideo1 how many you recommend? Can I still find parts here in Los Angeles like maintenance parts from aisin like you say? It's good to hear I live dohc v6 timing chain instead of belts 👍

      @zmanvideo1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rolldog82 You could contact Suzuki USA (suzukiauto.com) and ask them who are dealers around your area that you can still order Suzuki parts, you can also use megazip or ssg Asia, I actually like timing belts but that is just my personal preference. Wishing you many motoring free miles with you Suzuki! : )

      @@zmanvideo1 is rockauto a place to buy oem parts? You rather have a Mitsubishi montero or Suzuki grand vitara? Which is more reliable 4x4 in your opinion? Mitsubishi are belt driven. I see more Mitsubishi montero than Suzuki grand vitara here in Los Angeles now.

      @@rolldog82 yes rock auto is a great source for parts, although they do not carry oem parts, honestly, i would chose the vehicle that has a more easier supply of parts, if the Mitsubishi's have a ready source of available parts then i would chose it, both makes are excellent.
