I have known this song all my life I am 64 and i am Scottish from Irish on both sides of family. It is such a soulful song .

Have always understood that this song was about Michael Joseph O'Rahilly known as The O'Rahilly, was an Irish republican and nationalist; NOT an unknown soldier. RIP on the Bed of heaven to all of them
