From the hearts of all the lost children of Ireland I would like to say: you may kick the Irish out of Ireland but you can never kick Ireland out of the Irish ☘️
Absolutely stunning, the voices and the lyrics did touch my heart! God bless the fair Emerald Isle forever, greetings from Russia, brothers! 🇷🇺🇮🇪 Amhrán aoibhinn, maith sibh, a chairde linn! Éirinn go brách, beannachtaí ón Rúis!
Great strong version. Our favorite band at Ocean Shores, Washington State. Largest Celtic music festival on the west coast of the US Cancelled this Oct. due to the virus, but please come back in 2021.
I was skeptical when I heard the opening musical approach being slightly upbeat, but I cannot stop listening to the version you have put out here. Wonderful stuff!!
Enjoyed you in Sharpsburg, Md. @ heritage festivals every September until fateful 2001...Still have your wonderful book on Irish Civil War music ++ So glad to find you on youtube....
Love Derek Warfield. Last time i saw you at Portsmouth Irish Center 2007 you put a scarf around my neck. I still have it x. The young Wolfetones. 👌👌👌👌🙏🙏
I have heard a few different ways this song has been played from rock by a band called the Mahones from Kingston Ontairo Canada to traditional Irish and folk music and it is great every time.
Sadly, I did not get to visit the prison, but, took a detour through Athenry, back in July, on my way down to Galway, tracing back to where my Great Grandfather came from, before moving to New Zealand in late 1800's...
As an Englishman I am always moved by the beauty of this song and the tragedy of what it represents. English Imperialism at its worst. When its belted out at rugby matches its a wonderful thing to hear (- and all we have is Swing Low - embarrassing).
Hello, dear young wolftones! I am from germany, but how can I express this? Your music touches my heart, mind and body. Thank you so much for feeling irish music🥰
Interesting arrangement (I especially like the drive the banjo delivers) but for my taste it is a tad too polished/overproduced.Probably works great live.
This song is an expression of national identity. It is not unique; poor people in England were treated in the same appalling way by the ruling classes at that time. Be very careful Ireland that this identity of yours is not diluted to nothing by the muslims that are taking over your country.
The famine memorial is a very emotional place there on the banks of the Liffey.
Truly a remarkable song god bless Ireland I’m proud to be Irish 🇮🇪
From the hearts of all the lost children of Ireland I would like to say: you may kick the Irish out of Ireland but you can never kick Ireland out of the Irish ☘️

Paddy Rilly is the only man for that song
