I'm rediscovering card weaving after learning how back when I was like 15.... almost 30 years ago.... I just got the Spriggs Floor loom and while it's no monster, it's pretty substantial! I just got it warped and am looking forward to getting it started. Thanks for the patterns, I've used a bunch already!
This is beautiful I have a large foot treadle band loom I could adapt to use for this. Hmm you always inspire me to weave. Got started first o the Beka rigid heddle loom then inkle. I learned to use my inkle loom for card weaving watching you. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed watching your video! I wish I could show you my Inkle floor loom! I've only used it once, but it was definitely a learning experience ! Thanks Teresa 😊
Even if you call the pattern simple, it's really beautiful...and I always enjoy your weaving, tips and tricks AND especially your hiSTORIES...Frohe Weihnacht aus Deutschland 🙂
Thank you! Such a simple pattern which turns out so pretty. And because it's so easily done, making miles of that braid isn't as taxing than a more complex one and can therefore be accomplished much faster. And it is great largesse indeed! My plan was to give woven braids to friends as presents once I'm a bit more practiced, shooks, here you are beating me to that! Well done!
Beautiful! I love your opening music for your videos! Could you maybe do a short cutting off video when it’s finished and you cut it off the loom? Your first full size weaving on this monster is no small feat & we’d love to be able to celebrate it with you😁❤️
Very nice! I tried my first tablet weaving using a back strap method, since I don’t have an inkle loom. It was a bit shaky, and there are quite a few mistakes, but overall a good first try. The thing that surprised me the most was how thick the band was. (I used cotton crochet string) somehow I thought it would be thin like fabric, but it’s more like five layers of fabric. Interesting!
I love that you are weaving on a big floor loom like that! I haven’t seen many people weaving on one of these, and I have one that is similar. Why didn’t I think of putting it on a table while warping it?! That looks so much easier on my back 🤣
Such a lovely pattern. I especially love the interest added to the wide borders. Seasons Greetings to all and here’s hoping for a wonderful and safe New Year. 💕💕💕
What a huge inkle loom!!! I think I'm having loom envy...... I wonder how long it actually took you to warp the monster loom. That pattern is lovely. I might try that on the new loom that my boyfriend is making for me for Christmas this year. I'm so thrilled that I'll finally be able to weave along with you next time!!
I made myself a large loon like this and if fully threaded its 29 yards and I can weave up to 40 inches wide ,my inkle loom is 24inch by 42inches by 8 inch pegs
Elewys, could you please provide a link to your video which describes how to flip the cards to untangle the warp threads? I could use a refresher. Thanks!
@@elewysoffinchingefeld3066 Thank you! I couldn't remember which one it was. I've watched most of yours and I love your teaching style. I haven't been active in the SCA for decades, but I also live in An Tir.
I have heard this type of inkle loom called a floor inkle. I use the smaller lo do regular Inke weaving. Took a card weaving class once but my brain couldn't wrap itself around the technique. Love the patterns. Maybe I'll give it another try someday.
Love the way the added yellow and white on the sides turned out. Subtle, but very pretty.

I know what you mean. I was surprised by that too! Now I know why people use these for dog collars & leashes😉
Oh my lord, Elewys, what a workout,
Indeed! I worked up a sweat!
As always I really enjoy watching you as you weave Thank you for sharing and best wishes for this special season of the year.

Yuletide Greetings, Good Lady!
I really like this one. Easy like you said but nice pattern when done. I can see this in one of my future projects. Merry Christmas.
9 days of cardio to warp this beast!
It was a workout!
Such a stunning pattern! I really love the borders!
My current project is weaving a scarf 200 tablets wide 6 hole cards. Ya I know crazy right. It's a special gift with ivy leaves
I would love to see your pattern for 6 hole cards! Sounds amazing!
Like the pop of red on this one.Merry and Bright Holidays to you!

29 yards long and 40" wide? that's insane and i kinda wanna see it XD
I loved having a visit with you and "Mike!" This pattern is a wonderful one. Does it have a name?
I was hoping to see how you advance the warp in a loom of that size...especially with 2 tension bars...
I will have to do that. Maybe as a TH-cam Short.
@@elewysoffinchingefeld3066 that would be awesome! Happy Holidays

If you had skipped that first middle row and used 2&3 not 1&2 you would have come up your tension knob to 1 and across and used all :)
What inkle loom is this? It’s beautiful and large which I ❤️ tks
I commissioned it from a woodworker

Can we see what the Kingdom does with your finished product?
I'll try to get a photo of it.... I'm not sure who is in charge of the project but I'll see.
@@elewysoffinchingefeld3066 Thank you! It would be fun to see what all the various craftspeople created.
What are the dimensions of this monster Inkle Loom?
38" tall, 36" front to back. Just slightly smaller than the dimensions of the trunk of an '06 Honda Accord.
@@elewysoffinchingefeld3066 thank you :)
