    The luge is so much fun and so scary at the same time. If you go please do listen to the signs (ones that say slow down) when I went there was a guy who didn’t listen to the signs and he flipped off the track and broke his arm. They had to shut it down for a bit while the ambulance came and took him to the hospital.

    • @NZPocketGuide
      @NZPocketGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Outch! The luge is fun but yeah, you've got to be a bit careful. Did you try the Queenstown one too?

    Hi Robin and Laura really appreciate all d work u put in for us tourists. I watch ure videos regularly these days as il be visting NZ this Mar. Ive seen that there are 2 luge tracks in NZ one in Rotorua and other in Queenstown. Can u suggest me which one is better if I have the option to go for only one of these. Thanks

    • @NZPocketGuide
      @NZPocketGuide  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to do the 1st one first as it is the learning track. No choice ;) But once is never enough haha

    • @raghavrungta9085

    We will be there in 9 days! I saw on their website here is a jump at the end of the zip line. Did you guys do that part? Also is there another way down besides the stairs? My son has trouble walking long distances down stairs.

    • @NZPocketGuide
      @NZPocketGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there are two options to go down, the stairs or the jump (which is very easy, it's not a bungy jump haha)

      I'm trying to catch up on them now but the geothermal and Maori sites are definitely something I also need to hit up. Your videos are a great way to see what I need to experience.

    Last time I did that luge, I partially came off the kart, because the handlebars were loose, took a patch of skin off my leg, then had to go to Rotorua medical centre, and they gave me laughing gas and painfully scrubbed out the dirt from my wound. Then, it took about 3 weeks to heal, had to have this big patch on my leg to act as a "temporary skin".

    • @NZPocketGuide
      @NZPocketGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay, your back! Sorry to see it's with an unfortunate Luge story though :( I guess that's why there are higher sides on the luge karts now, which we noticed was different to some of the karts in QT.

    • @Y2J
      @Y2J 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah the high sides would help keep you on the kart. I do like the Rotorua Luge better than the QT one though.
      I try to watch your vids in bulk (bingewatch) but sometimes just don't have time, I've missed sooo many of your vids. Can't catch up on em all, but I'll be going back and watching some of the vids I missed out on.
      If you have time, you should consider watching my Xinjiang (China) series, there are 7 episodes, each episode is 15-20 mins long so it's a bit of a time comittment, but there's only 7 videos. They're a real look into a world few westerners see, it's a place where the govt is practicing ethnic colonisation and just below the surface a lot of upset chinese muslims feel powerless....

      I really liked Kerosene Creek. It was pretty secluded, and 105 degrees!

    • @NZPocketGuide
      @NZPocketGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it is such an amazing hidden spot! Quick note: No you will not be cooked alive, for everybody out of the US 105 Degrees F is about 40.5 Degree Celcius! Real hot, real nice!
