I stumbled upon a town similar to this one in upstate NY. It was close to the canadian border. The town died when the lumber mill and electricity shut down. 2 churches, a huge hotel, post office and at least 80 cabin & vacation homes. All just sitting there. Some were converted into hunting camps. This place reminds me of that town.

Hey, This is Jim and Eva from J&E Adventures. Want to say thank you for the shout out. That really means alot. But, Something that we have to make clear. The spray painted tag was not done by us. Whether it was some one being a jackass or a minor stalker. We dont know. We follow the 3 main rules of urbex. 1) Take nothing but pictures 2) Leave nothing but foot prints 3) And break nothing but silence. But again, Thanks for the shout out.. Ok. The other stuff. The Day Top Rehab. The building on the left as you walk up the driveway. That was living quarters. There was some one squatting in there while we were there. We could hear them run across the first floor when we were on the second floor. And the big building across the road with the pool. That was a rec hall.. Alot of cool stuff was in there. Pool table and such.. Other than that. You went to all the same places that we did.. Nice job as always.. Thanks again

      Tmac Kjr
J&E are actually my parents and I’ll tell you one thing; they raised me to be respectful of my environment around me, whether natural or in an urbex surrounding. We have gone on urbex adventures together for years, and even before they started their TH-cam channel, they still followed the urbex rules. If they raised me to be respectful and to follow the rules, why would they do the complete opposite? Most people in the urbex community know the rules and unfortunately find ways to sabotage people that they see as competition or enemies. It sounds a bit dramatic, I know, but it’s happened to several urbex channels. Once someone catches wind of a “rule breaker”, suddenly they become the assholes of the urbex community and it can effect the growth of their channel. I know it seems biased, considering they are my parents, but they are outstanding people who live up to the rules of urbex.
Also, take a shot every time I say respectful, urbex or rules 😂

I'm from Parksville and it was always a small town. But when they rerouted the highway it became a true ghost town. The Best western (hotel) closed before the highway was built probably has been abandoned for over 25 years now. My daughter and I went there last summer and the place is so destroyed. Now the only people that go there are explorer's. And those how live there which is like a handful.

I used to drive through this town all the time when I was a kid. My dad actually lived not that far from that diner and we had dinner there a few times. Part of the reason that the town is so ghostly, is the fact that a highway was built through it. Ever since then, things changed and it is sad to see. That church they see in this video , is one that my grandma attended many years ago. I appreciate the fact that he and his crew are being respectful but make the video great to watch

@@holdthewinds We left in 2005, reason being is the owner of that hotel, Fred, was also the land lord of that home. The hotel had a kitchen fire and he tried to rebuild, hence why it was being restored. But he ended up selling the hotel and moved to Florida and the new owners didn't want to rent the house out. So we ended up having to move. But that house sat on 254 Acres or so of land. And acually was haunted! But not in a bad way. Two elderly people lived there and died in that house. The old man in the red room which was the kitchen and the elder lady in that room with the table and chair, with the wall paint chipping. Which was the laundry room. You would hear foot steps going up and down the wood steps at night. See glowing white orbs go in and out of rooms. But the feeling you got when you seen this was warm and comforting. Fiddlers was a hot spot for teens to hang out. Right behind fiddlers was an amazing pizza parlor. Awsome wings and pizza. When I lived there it was still alive but not much went on in that town. But one cool fact is that Ron Jeremy, "porn star" acually worked at that hotel. And just so everyone knows we did not leave that home with all that trash laying about, yes few things but not the condition it is now.

Olsen Viking wow thanks for giving the history of your place. I bet seeing the house brought back a lot of memories. It’s so interesting but kind of sad. I have a similar story. We used to live in an old farmhouse on about 11 acres. House was also haunted, but I never could find out exactly what happened. Same thing, it wasn’t scary or evil type activity. I wasn’t afraid to be there or anything. Our landlord ended up selling the property to a landfill down the road. The landfill only wanted the land in back of the house which was just fields so they could expand. They let us stay another year and then we had to move out. The house sits abandoned. I actually only live a few miles away and drive by the house on my way to my sisters. I’ve actually gone back 2 or 3 times, to see the condition. The last time I went back there a huge sectional on the first floor that wasn’t ours so people have clearly been in the house. I don’t think I’ll ever go back again because of that. So sad to just see it rotting away. I had a lot of good times there. I am also 1 of 5 lol!

There are sheds and old buildings but I'm not sure he would allow all to be filmed, there's a barn filled with stuff and even cars from the 60s, there are two busses beautifully abandoned, there is a shed in the forest with horse carriages from his parents.
This is on his land, like outside my house, well I moved but my dad still lives there for now haha there is two liveable houses on the farm land if that makes sense.
But anyway in the forest were he dumped cars and trucks everywhere is the good stuff, there's even an old tractor like super old, the trucks has to be like maybe 70-80s time there are old cars and scap metal everywhere.
On the other side of the main road there's a lake and my grandad had a cabin and own part of the land where we created a swimming area. The cabin is basically abandoned, a few years ago it stood completely untouched but since two years it's been used during summer again so it was cleaned a shame for explorers haha but anyway no one has been allowed to film there so Josh would be the first if my grandfather would agree but since he loves his scrap perhaps he would like to know poeple can admire his hoarding lol
Sorry for the essay but I feel like my old house is a explorer haven it just has never been explored 😂

The newest diner is the letter i 86. Probably the name of the route it was built on. I think that last building was a rehab for drugs and alcohol.

It is actually music from Silent Hill games, I love that old franchise, used to be a kid when the first game came out in 99, I first finished the first game in 2008 being through a depression. The franchise and above all the music cured me from that depression. Peaceful.

I don’t live too far from Parksville the sign that said Memories on it was for a store called Memories that sold antiques and the diner was the I86 Diner which stood for Interstate 86 which is eventually what 17 is being turned into which is why this town became a ghost town 17 ran right through the middle of town and they built a new road and exit which routes the road around Parksville causing its demise.

Why would they leave in such a hurry as to leave everything behind? Maybe they lost the lease and got kicked out without their belongings and or they were not allowed in the town anymore.

The red & white building is actually called Fiddle’s. It was an old ice cream stand. They just recently had to leave thanks to the highway going right over it. I am a local and have always gone since I was a kid. They had the ABSOLUTE BEST ice cream around. Now there aren’t many places that have good quality ice cream like they did. Blue Goo was what is called a “flavor burst” ice cream. And my little brother & I’s favorite! Tasted like cotton candy lol. Look it up sometime! It’s really surprising all the flavors they actually made lol. But thank you for doing this. Not many people even know about Parksville unless they’re local

It's crazy that we have so many homeless people in the country. We should have the people relocate to this town and fix it and make it livable again.

Places like this with empty homes in Stead of leaving them empty why not help the homeless by giving the homes a new life and giving the homeless hope and a new life. People with families that have lost everything give them support and a place to make a home for there loved ones . Help them to start over . In STEAD if leaving house's empty make the house a home not just a empty shell .
