Absolutltly love your clarity with normal setting, I did notice a real picture deterioration with one click up, Thanks so much for these tests and if Randy Blockhead gets his way we will be using our equipment for sinkers, lets not let him hear the end of this… we all need to stand up!!!
Glad you done a test on this. I learned maybe why my distance isn't right on my garmin. I've always run my 34 one click up. Never realy seen a picture difference but I haven't tested for it either. But for sure my units distance is off and now I know why! Thanks
Had the same thing happen on my unit when I did this. However the reason I click it up is if the fish are literally on the surface busting shad. In my lake they roam less than a foot under the surface when they are chasing shad up on the water column
I don't use my garmin lvs34 transducer mount. I use the fishing specialties lvs34 transducer mount which is a ram ball connection to the pole. It is infinitely adjustable. I change angle depending on depth for forward & perspective. I haven't used rusted steel at all. I have been trying different colors lately. I'll have to give it a try. My favorite colors pallets for my eyes so far has been amber of course along with carribian, & lava
Interesting test. I'll try that also. I"m new to LIvescope. 2 months now. Loving it for crappie. I do have a question if you have time. I'm running a 1242 and it's working fine. On Livescope screen I have the normal screen icon at bottom center for Gain, Forward Range, Depth that are controlled by the knob. If I use Active Captain and then close the app, the icon is gone and does not return. I can't get it back until I turn the 1242 off and back on. Do you know of a why to make that icon return and thus return control back to the knob? Thanks.
What is suggested mountimg height off of top of barrel of tm. Using fish obsessed mount. Mounted alot lower than pics in garmin manual w garmin mount. Could only see bait out to about 30 ft , clicked mine up one n could see out to 60ish small swimbait.
I would like to see a test with the transducer mounted on the starboard vs port side of trolling motor/pole. Not necessarily for picture quality but to see if one gives you slightly further view than the other as well as being able to see your bait hit the water better as it looks to me like the beams are at slightly different angles depending on what side you mount the transducer.
You mean like this Garmin Livescope: Does Port Or Starboard Orientation Read Differently??? Perspective Mount Winner!! th-cam.com/video/tz8QXWben3k/w-d-xo.html
Awesome video, but could you show us what you mean one click up? You mean one click up on the zero degree mount? Always thought down mode was level and forward mode was one click up! Again always awesome videos!!! Thank you
Good video, the only time I click up one notch is when the fish are holding in the upper portion of the water column. Otherwise I run it in the normal position.
As long as your trolling motor shaft or whatever you have your transducer mounted to is perpendicular to the water surface standard orientation should be the best. If your shaft is not perpendicular to the water surface…as in my ProCraft….mine sits angled back, then a click up will make a huge difference. Or you can always a wedge under the trolling motor mount to level it out and no ( up click needed) Just an observation from my own boat.
This one got me thinking..do you think maybe it's because they've got their transducer mounted to trolling motor and the shaft is angled back? Mine was. I adjusted mine with my weight in front. Now it's level front to back..side to side. Just a thought
Ive found some units are ok and most are not ive all the echo family series from 7 to 12 inch currently run four 126 and only one of them did not need adjusted
With one click up wouldn’t you need to calibrate it? If you calibrated it in the standard position and did the test, I believe the picture would be different between the two.
I've skipped last 2 updates. I'd have to check which version I'm running. But my picture is clear & I don't have any issues so I haven't seen any reason to update?
Awesome job I did one click up today the ghost tree is killing me didn’t help 😂 little pond called chemain-haunt leave for lake of the pines in the morning
I guarantee that 2.74 black box update is horrible. Never had the stair step bottom returns until that update. Wish I would have never updated it My 126 & 2-93uhds are running 27.10. Seems like I’m always having to adjust settings to get a decent picture.
Well, in shallow water 6-7 feet, I couldn't see my lure or fish past 30'. One click up I see my lure and the fish out to 70'. So, there is an application for one click up .
@@The_Garmin_Guru What? I just told you exactly what happened. It certainly did affect my view, greatly, for the better in shallow water. Believe or not.

Thanks Randy for the comparison of one up verses it the way garmin says, I like it.😊
Right on
I thought about this after y'all brought it up in the recent podcast... Now I don't feel the need to experiment with it myself.
Thanks Randy.

It definitely could. Good question

One click up on the head unit
Good video, the only time I click up one notch is when the fish are holding in the upper portion of the water column. Otherwise I run it in the normal position.
The only place that would benefit is if they are in that tiny sliver close to the boat. But we gonna test that also

I’ll take a pic with it in both orientations.
on the 2.74 are you manual adjusting the focus or auto. I have found the auto works dam good on it.
