When I saw Sora coming to Smash Ultimate, it felt like a long lost childhood dream of mine has come true. I wanted Sora back in the Brawl days (Brawl was my first Smash game too), I had all those Sora Mods over Pit, I looked forward how the Smash 4 Modding Scene was going along, how the Fighter's Ballot went etc., and seeing Sora coming to Smash after 13 years, it felt AMAZING!
The fact that one year has passed is still insane to me. I remember when Ultimate was announced that I had high hopes for Sora to be a playable character whether he would be base roster or DLC and I also remember all the discussions I’ve had with many people who were in denial with Sora especially one who thought that he couldn’t be in because he stated and I quote “He’s associated with Disney therefore he’s a movie character” like lmao. It’s still amazing how Sakurai managed to make the dream possible and that Disney was also very open to that idea (except Nomura who didn’t know how to make Smash canon to the KH lore lol).

Sora is and remains the best character to end the dlc, he is the boy who wanders across the universes, he is the embodiment of crossover. It's a character who uses light to wipe out darkness in the multiverse. He was and remains the best choice to end the dlc! The undying light is kingdom hearts!

Hard to believe it has been 1 year already. Time certainly has flown. It doesn't feel like a year. We needed a star to shine bright on our world, and Sora was that star. (This was just how I felt.)
I still remember a year ago today, just sitting in my dorm, heart pounding and waiting in anticipation for that last character to reveal him/herself. I had no clue who it’d be, but the second I saw the keyblade silhouette in the flames I jumped out of my seat in shock, bewilderment, and most of all extreme happiness. Kingdom Hearts is my favorite video game series, and seeing Sora revealed in such a perfect and grand way was such a euphoric experience that I will never forget, not even 60 or 70 years from now
My brother and I remember back when Shinji Hashimoto responded with a Yes! to Sora in smash on Twitter and we never lost hope the whole time up to the final reveal truly legendary anniversary! Amazing video as always!
That's the thing about Sora all seriousness, he is the character that even though you dont want, know, and/or like you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. The day our boi was announced. I was at work in the car. I had to pull over to happy cry. I wanted Sora since Brawl when I seen Sonic. I wanted Sora so bad, that it felt like a dream that was a far off memory.
I remember back when Sora was added, I did a new playthrough for world of light to celebrate where I only used Sora to celebrate. The only spirit I could not beat was Pauline so I switched to Sephiroth. But after that I went through the rest of the game with him and for the final fight with Galeem and Dharkon, my line up Was Sora, Simon, and Pyra/Mythra.
Don't know why, I couldn't stop watching that Sora reveal over and over again. It just makes me happy seeing him in smash. I was more worried on who the final DLC character is because I want it to be Sora 100%, or it could be anyone until then the keyblade was revealed and it happened to be Sora. Also, I'm hoping to see the Sora amiibo to be revealed in the future.

They pretty much put Sora in that new game Rumbleverse. It’s in a key blade form and it has the same move set from kh1 Sora. You can even glide around the map with it. It feels fun to use too.

I been watching you since 2017 along side the other keep keepers, Sora was not on my big priority for smash but deep inside my heart i really wanted since i played smash flash 2, kh is one of my favorites videogame franchises growing up besides sonic, marvel vs capcom, klonoa, etc. You inspire me to always believe and never give up in my dreams/goals, im gonna have this faith for one piece, seen jimmy and timmy in nasb and more.

Brawl was my first smash game and when I saw sonic in the game, I freaked out! From then on, I wondered of I ever would get my favorite video game character in smash myself. Kingdom Hearts defined my childhood in so many ways and when he was revealed as the last character... I couldn't help but cry.
The thing about Bayo is... we know files for her existed long before the Ballot even ended; so while sure she could have actually been that high on the Ballot, I think it's understandable why people think Sakurai kinda did lie since the Ballot wasn't the defining factor of her getting in.
The Files thing is conjecture as the point of insertion of the files could've literally be the point where they saw where the ballot was going and made a choice
I'm not great with floaty characters, but Sora was an amazing character regardless. The reveal trailer was magical, and is definitely deserving of his inclusion. Take your victory lap, you earned it. I reveled in the salty tears of those who sandbagged Byleth, so now is your turn.
I still remember that day. Hours after seeing someone else shed manly tears over his reveal and singing "Simple and Clean" with the trailer, I basically thought to myself "HMK's gonna flip his lid upon seeing this." Admittedly, I was just flabbergasted that such a reveal even occurred. "He did it! The madman actually did it!"
When I watched that reveal for the first time I felt something which I hadn't felt in years I felt like a kid again. And Now one year later our son is finally finding his place in the competitive scene and I'm still a proud Sonic/Sora main
One thing that always grinds my gears is when someone complains about "fan pandering." Yeah, that's the point of companies selling their products. To appeal to those who regularly buy the product. The fans are what make things as big as they are. The fans are what make things like Sora or Banjo getting into Smash. If there's enough fan demand for it, companies will provide. Can't say the same for all companies, but the ones that do make the most money. Companies and studios need to start building their relationships with the fans rather than completely disregard them to appease woke mobs on twitter who don't even buy the product. That's why companies like Nintendo still thrive whereas others like Lucas Films and Blizzard are on a downward spiral.

You guys ever had a dream where there's an announcement for something you wanted but every detail within said presentation is so wack and strange that you know for a fact you are dreaming and you just become disappointed with yourself? That's the feeling the Sora trailer gave me.

Salty or not, you can't deny that Sora is literally the Perfect character for Smash. As he is the ONE video game character that traverse worlds/franchises and is loved by many. Not having Sora in Smash just isn't complete X)

I been watching you since 2017 along side the other keep keepers, Sora was not on my big priority for smash but deep inside my heart i really wanted since i played smash flash 2, kh is one of my favorites videogame franchises growing up besides sonic, marvel vs capcom, klonoa, etc. You inspire me to always believe and never give up in my dreams/goals, im gonna have this faith for one piece, seen jimmy and timmy in nasb and more.
People I know were saying he's just another sword character. Hahaha I was hyped af tho. I grew up on KH. I was in 6th grade when kh2 dropped & remember my dad buying it for me.
Brawl was my first smash game and when I saw sonic in the game, I freaked out! From then on, I wondered of I ever would get my favorite video game character in smash myself. Kingdom Hearts defined my childhood in so many ways and when he was revealed as the last character... I couldn't help but cry.

The thing about Bayo is... we know files for her existed long before the Ballot even ended; so while sure she could have actually been that high on the Ballot, I think it's understandable why people think Sakurai kinda did lie since the Ballot wasn't the defining factor of her getting in.
The Files thing is conjecture as the point of insertion of the files could've literally be the point where they saw where the ballot was going and made a choice
I'm not great with floaty characters, but Sora was an amazing character regardless. The reveal trailer was magical, and is definitely deserving of his inclusion. Take your victory lap, you earned it. I reveled in the salty tears of those who sandbagged Byleth, so now is your turn.

God, now I want to watch Ragged Knowledge’s Sora reveal reaction compilation just to bask in that KH magic all over again.
I still remember that day. Hours after seeing someone else shed manly tears over his reveal and singing "Simple and Clean" with the trailer, I basically thought to myself "HMK's gonna flip his lid upon seeing this." Admittedly, I was just flabbergasted that such a reveal even occurred. "He did it! The madman actually did it!"
Don't assume your dreams are just fantasy. If you can imagine a world, believe in it... and dive in!

One thing that always grinds my gears is when someone complains about "fan pandering." Yeah, that's the point of companies selling their products. To appeal to those who regularly buy the product. The fans are what make things as big as they are. The fans are what make things like Sora or Banjo getting into Smash. If there's enough fan demand for it, companies will provide. Can't say the same for all companies, but the ones that do make the most money. Companies and studios need to start building their relationships with the fans rather than completely disregard them to appease woke mobs on twitter who don't even buy the product. That's why companies like Nintendo still thrive whereas others like Lucas Films and Blizzard are on a downward spiral.

One year ago was the best day ever!! Seeing sora be the final character revealed was beyond real! You could say it was unreality😉. Lol ok, I'll stop. But anyway, like you I was going to force myself to like & main sora (cuz I'm normally trash at smash. I still have a fun) but no I was completely in tune with his moves & how he played! The happiness I feel every time I pick him is immense! No amount of haters will ever make this victory any less sweet. I hope all of us fans feel the same!!
